another dream? And if you do,how do you do it?

Thanks,

How many hits can you get with a well written article? I realize it probably varies with the niche. But again I am clueless on this.

I would say you can, the trick is to build a list and then market to that list. Article marketing is just one of the means to get you there. Your true goal should be to scale things up with whatever money you earn in the meantime in order to make more money and accomplish things faster. It may also be a good idea for some down the line to have their own products created where you get a bigger payout per sale like 50.00 or more rather then the typical 25-30 dollars.

    5000 list

3% response which should be higher if you are good with autoresponder sequences

    150 sales at 50.00

7500.00$ all you would need is to market a little better to get to the 10k or use some of this money to pay for some advertising. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO PAY FOR ADVERTISING. I know some are scared to lose money, but this is a really good way to scale it up, especially if you can learn what you are doing. Look at your articles that do well and build off of those, once you scale up what is bringing you the bulk of your money and find ways to get value out of the ones that don't things become much more realistic. If one article is bringing in sales and the other is not then take the article that is performing and scale it up. Tweek the underperforming article for the other keyword and get it out there so it can make money for you as well.

      QUICK AND DIRTY

Alot of people make Article Marketing much harder than it has to be. They have these corny perceptions of having to be a great writer and building authority and all of this other garbage that stops a ton of people from even starting.

I'm going to give you a quick and dirty plan here that has worked for me time and time again. More importantly, it worked for me before I "knew" anything at all really. Before I knew any "tricks" and was still extremely wet behind the ears.

Niche selection - Pick a niche that is embarrassing for people. something that they don't want to talk to other people about. Something that puts them in a desperate situation.

      Here are a couple examples:

      • Picking up chicks
      • Catch your spouse cheating
      • Yeast infections
      • man boobs
      • Penis enlargement
I know alot of people will tell you to pick something your passionate about, but just forget about that for a bit, unless you are passionate about stuff that people want to buy.

Pick something that people are more likely to go online to buy than to walk into a retail outlet and pick up. Hopefully, that makes sense to you.

Once you have your niche, you will want to of course grab some keywords.

KEYWORD RESEARCH - Again, I'm going to go against the grain here. Forget about results in quotation marks and all that other stuff. What you want to look at is the number of sites that are actually actively competing in your niche. The easiest way to do this is to find the number of sites that are rockin your keywords inurl and inachor. I would like to get into that a little more, but honestly, you could fill up about 10 pages on it...

The other thing you want to look at is what *kind* of site that Google is ranking on the first page for your keyword. What you want to see is:

      1. Article directories
      2. Web2.0 sites
      3. Yahoo Answers
      4. etc..
Basically, you want to see the types of sites that other marketers are using to rank. If Google will let them on the first page, they will let you on the first page. The key here is to understand that the other marketers that are using those sites to rank are in most cases - Hit and runners. They throw up 500 words of content, throw 10 backlinks to it and if it ranks, it ranks. If not, they move onto the next thing.

So, your goal is to either completely overtake their ranking or to slide into a supplemental slot - Believe it or not, there is a lot of traffic to be had there. The key here is to provide updated content and some decent backlinks.

When I say updated content, what I mean is to add new posts to your 2.0 sites etc so that Google sees your content is staying fresh, unlike your competitor who probaby will never add another word to their page for as long as they live.

ARTICLE TITLES - Your article titles should be keyword rich and FULL OF HYPE. Think of the most outrageous claim that you can think of and still tell the truth and then go with it. The more outrageous it is, the more people will read it.

A good way to come up with titles is to use the hyped up bullet points from the sales pages. You will have no problem finding hype on a sales page lol

ARTICLE CONTENT - This is where it gets a little dicey. I know that the ebooks train you to write award winning stuff and to provide oodles and oodles of conent so that the reader thinks you are a rocket scientist, right? But, let me ask you this - If you give all the info in the article, why the hell would they click throuh on your resource box?

Ideally, you want to focus on pain! If you are pitching an ebook on how to find out if your wife is sleeping with the mail man. Make your content, call out the husbands pride - Piss him off. "Chances are good that your wife is banging the mail man right now" or "Do you wonder why your wife doesn't want to sleep with you anymore? Do you think it has something to do with the fact she is having sex with the mail man?"

You can do the same thing with just about EVERY single niche. I don't want to inform the reader - I want to coax them into clicking my link! They can be informed when the pay $49.99.

RESOURCE BOX - Here you want to reinforce the fact that you have the answer to their problem. I see so many people type a life history in the resource box. Do you really think the reader cares how old you are or where you went to college? Probably not! What they want to do is pay you $49.99 for an ebook to solve their problem.

So, if your pitching an ebooks that is going to show Johnny how to get rid of his man boobs, it might be something like this:

Want to get out of a b-cup and into a t-shirt? CLICK HERE!

I consistently get CTR's of 30%+ with resource boxes just like that.

There are obviously other steps here such as promoting your articles with backlinks and repurposing your content, but I think most of that stuff is talked about so often that it should be for the most part common knowledge.

Personally, I think that most new people to article marketing fail or don't do as well as they could because they are still trying to do "their fathers" article marketing if you know what I mean.

Marketing with articles has gotten more aggressive even since I started doing in in December of 2007. You really have to think outside of the box a little bit and find creative ways to get eyes on your articles. More importantly, to get as many people as possible to click on your resource box links.

I know this is kind of incomplete, but my medicine has me tired lol

Jeremy knows his stuff Buying his article marketing WSO a few weeks ago completely changed the way I approach the whole thing and some of my articles are now getting 30%+ CTR, and leading to sales. Just yesterday I made 3 CB sales, all as a result of EZA. I really haven't backlinked my articles much yet though, from reading this thread it has reminded me just how powerful it can be. I went through some of my recently approved articles, and one with a keyword term that gets 500 searches(for the exact term) daily is sitting on page 2 at number 15, and one with 100 daily searches is sitting on page 2 at number 17. I'm definitely going to concentrate on building backlinks to them now. BTW, the first one of those two is getting around a 50% CTR. Listen to people in the know like Jeremy and take action. The money is out there just waiting for us - go and get it, I know I'm going to

Very true - there's no need to be a great writer nowadays simply because you can outsource.

Also, as you say, you need to find a niche such as the ones you've mentioned. Hey, I'm no marketer, but I do write for a website offering writing services, and I can assure you, what you've said here is spot on. We see literally thousands of clients pass by each month and in the end, it gets easy to spot the ones who are being successful with their marketing efforts. Of course you also see many requesting articles regarding a niche which has long since died a death, but oh well, Iwork for the site as a writer rather than an adviser.

Seeing how much can be made from marketing though, I think I should maybe give up with the writing...lol.

To answer that very first question of the post... yes you can.

but, grasp this concept. Article Marketing is not a business.. it is a traffic and marketing tactic to increase sales and build your business.

        think about it...

        Jeremy
Incomplete? Dude, you have offered more helpful tips in this one post than most entire ebooks have in them!

This has to be the post of the year! Thank you so much Jeremy for sharing this info. As with all great ideas, it is so simple. Of course, I'm sitting here reading with blood-shot eyes & saying to my sleep deprived brain "why didn't I think of this years ago?"
In fact why didn't I think of it at all! Big, big bear hug Jeremy!

        Jeremy,

That was the best explaination of how to use article marketing to promote that I have seen in quite some time, thank you for taking the time.

In your case, do you post your article in any of the article submission websites around the web? And if so, which ones do you recommend as the most effective?

        Regards,

        Top post!!
Just copy and print this post... it worth $10,000 per month!

        Another tip...
Now you know what to do...
stop wasting time reading post in forums.
        Stop racking up post numbers.
Take a break. Visit once a month... not every day!
        Fundamentals don't change overnight.
Cos' every time you come across a 'new' and 'proven' 'method' you lose track of what you are doing. (I done the same )

Just stick to One thing and learn some basic web skills.
(How to set up a squeeze page and a wordpress blog, Google analytics, Optimizer... all "free" stuff )

        LOL Man BOOBS!

That is one niche I never thought of...
        Restless legs, anal itching... yes...

And the other night I was watching Ricky Gervais talking about man boobs. Ideas are everywhere!

You can use long tail keywords which has low competition in your articles. It will help your articles to rank higher in search engines.

It is better to give free gift using opt-in form through the resource box to collect more leads. You can sell your products or affiliate products to those subscribers.

For $10,000 a month, you need to write many articles on many niches.

              Good Luck.

Jeremy, that was a great post. Particularly, the aspect of niche selection and research. It is indeed insightful. Please, do complete this post because we really need to tap into your wealth of experience.

Yes, when Jeremy speaks, people should listen good.

I've got to call you on this Jeremy.

I've written on yeast infections and I've found it hard to get any traction at all. I've had titles that get great views "You Put Yogurt Where?" is mine and it attracted a lot of views and a good amount of click through (seems to me it was roughly 30% CTR) early on. And then faded immediately.

I got copies of the products (not just the top but the top two) and created a good review site. Nothing. People didn't click through (and I've had great success doing that in other niches). So I offered a free ebook and free yeast infection diet. Still, no takers. People didn't even download them.

When I contacted the merchant, they said - yes, it's a very competitive market. My judgment was that there is so much free information out there that people are very reluctant to buy.

Even David (David, so sorry I blanked on your last name), the fellow who wrote conversations with Travis, doesn't try to do article marketing in "get your ex back" without an autoresponder. And Ian Hollander over at Karmic Consulting has had great success in the "pick up chicks" niche but not without an autoresponder. He also freely admits that articles for a niche like "pick up chicks" only have traction for about 48-72 hours unless you write in the very long tail.

So, I cringe when I see experienced warriors putting up "three steps to success" posts that set up eager new comers to go out and bust their cans not knowing how the game works. They can write a ton of articles with scintillating titles and provocative resource boxes and just exhaust themselves and wonder what they're doing wrong.

The stuff that you say "is talked about so often that it should be for the most part common knowledge" is often the difference between success and plugging away at something doomed to failure. I hate to see it downplayed.

The question is, do you know why that happened?

I'm interested to know whether you do or not....I do.

We do very well with Yeast infection ebooks...so much so that we put our own product up on clickbank...It is a very good niche...and a high converting one too.

So, you had a "free report" and nobody wanted to download it? That sounds like a copy issue...If people clicked through to the page...obviously they were interested...Your copy just didn't convert them.

Sure, it is a competitive market, but as I said, we have found it to be a very profitable niche...

Nobody said you shouldn't get an autoresponder. But, telling someone "get an autoresponder" is almost like saying drive traffic with ADwords.

          How?
          Why?
          On which ones?

Would you have an autoresponder if you were pimping **** berries? I know I wouldn't...

So, your saying that I was wrong?

That's your opinion...I've made a crap load of money with what was outlined above... WITHOUT AN AUTORESPONDER. ARticles+SEO = Lots of traffic.

Tim, it was a forum post...Not an ebook.

For me to map out my whole "system" I would probably be 75+ pages and 10 videos deep...i wasn't trying to give a road map - I was trying to give some information on the subject.

For others in the thread that have asked questions...I'm not purposely ignoring your questions. I've purposely stayed out of this thread so that the mods don't take it as me being promotional. I don't want to see the thread deleted.

This is great advice, the bigger marketers that I know who are killing it, and how we are doing well is via PPC, CPA and PPV. But I actually like PPC now, its all about testing tweaking and then upscaling stuff when you have a winner.

Do not be afraid to try this. We have been able to turn loser campagns into winner quickly.

Again.... I do not know many bigger 7 figure marketers who are using articles to crush it online....so there is your wrap.

Actually building targeted lists seems much easier and faster through article marketing than any type of advertising method. The concept of article syndication is that you are building a reputation or an authoritative position within your niche, in contrast to a much lower regarded "advertiser" among many others clawing and competing for the buyers' patronage. In my experience, lists developed in this manner result in much higher sales conversions, especially in the most competitive niches where buyers tend to be more savvy and even cynical. Some of us are making much better than 7 figures just through article syndication marketing.

I'm also thinking that conversion on Clickbank is getting lower than earlier! For example, in my niches, I was getting 5-6% conversion but now it is 2-3% Sometimes, I did experience less than 2%!

I love your stuff on article marketing as you stand out from so many. I have done really well with CB but get quite tired of the seesawing with CB and do not fully trust their analytics. I am seriously considering going to the CPA side of things. It seems that your CPA course has really helped a number of Warriors.

    Jeremy,

That was an awesome break down of how to do article marketing to make money fast. The insight into the niches was really useful as well. It seems like such a simple concept, but I have never actually thought to myself that I should target items that people wouldn't feel comfortable buying offline in a shop, face-to-face.
    Thanks for the post here.

To the OP, follow the advice given in this thread and you will be doing good. See what you can learn from a one Mr. Steven Wagenheim through his products, and be prepared to work real hard, and get smart with your outsourcing over the next few months.

Great stuff Jeremy - nothing new but always worth saying. Mate, I have two questions...

    1. Are you actively making money in this vicinity? 10K a month
    2. How many sites (logically) would it take, to acheive this? At per say, selling a $30 product per site? 50? 100?

This isn't a cop-out, but I honestly don't discuss my income publicly. What I can tell you though is we have done live training with a group of 1,000 people that saw us use the techniques above and make $1,200 in 11 days in 1 niche with 2 articles a day. Another group saw us make $600 in a different niche is 5 days or so with 2-3 articles a day.

Article Marketing works if you can wrap your head around the process and simplify it. It also helps if you can make yourself be passionate about stuff that people want to buy.

You don't have to do it anywhere near that scale. Like I said above - 3 sales a day in 4 niches will get you to 10K. 3 sales a day can be accomplished by GETTING 1 ARTICLE TO STICK ON THE FIRST PAGE OF GOOGLE.

I am with Jeremy on this one the niche your marketing too is the most important factor. Like anything else in life location is everything.

However $10,000 every month is a big ask and it won't happen over night and will take considerable time (or capital if you out source) as you will have too get a lot of articles out there, or fewer high quality articles with backlinks.

You can take the quantity or quality route it's up too you both will take time and effort.

To make anything like $10,000 a month you will need to build a list and/or have an effective sales funnel

The honest answer is Yes and No. Clearly, anything is just about achievable with focus, action and talent.

I think the response to this question really needs to be broadended to say that Article Marketing is a powerful and essential component within any IM's tool box. But it is only a component.

To take one model (and there are many) as an example:

      1. Identify a niche ( a hungry group of potential customers)

      2. Register a congruent and relevant domain name for that niche.

      3. Create a quality free product (resource report, newsletter etc)

      4. Get a great Autoresponder (Email Marketing Software, Email Newsletters and Autoresponders by AWeber or Shopping Cart Software | Ecommerce Software - Interspire etc)

      5. Build a series of relationship building emails to convert the prospect once you've captured them.

      6. Build a simple one page web site with capture field from your autoresponder for First name and email address and make sure the web site is highly relevant.

      7. Drive traffic, squeeze via your site, provide the free product, start to build a relationship via your automatic email series and at the right time, introduce them to a paid, quality product, be this your own or as an affiliate.

So article marketing really figures in point 7, and is one of many SEO, traffic driving strategies.

During my first year, after founding the Cambridge Business Academy I spent a couple of hours every day, writing and submitting articles. Over a year I guess that was about 500 articles, but I submitted them with tweaks and adjustments to a list of around 150 article sites and those articles went viral, each from a well ranked article site, each with a One Way Link back to the academy and each therefore contributing to my first 7 months income when I only have just one product....those prospects were turned into 1507 paying customers and just over £189,000 of income, which paid for my film studio in my backgarden.

So the answer is yes. But you need to follow a model, be disciplined, learn the craft, and take action, each and every day.

I'm with Kevin on this. I've got about 350 articles up in the past 5 months or so. My experience is that people screw up with article marketing by thinking of it as ARTICLE marketing instead of article MARKETING.

What I mean is, choose your keywords carefully and then promote the heck out of your articles.

I wrote 118 articles on one topic and drove lots of traffic to a merchant who made me 1 sale every 102 visitors almost like clockwork. But none of the articles stuck. So all the work went to nothing.

On the other hand, I wrote 40 articles on another topic, linked to them, did social bookmarking, submitted articles to link to the effective articles. Ended up dominating 8 of the 15 top spots on EzineArticles for that category. And those 8 articles still make me money today.

Don't get it backwards. The article is the beginning. But you've got to promote.

This thread is a real keeper thanks to Jeremy and others. Now, I'm wondering, though, is anyone reading this doing $10K/mo. from article marketing? I'm guessing none of the posters so far are. And the consensus seems to be that that income level requires considerable additional IM work, such as list marketing. But I would think that with diligent effort and the right high value product-- possibly an ongoing commission arrangement-- you could do it with article marketing along. I'm all ears!

Personally, I prefer the models of niche affiliate sites and product creation in my pursuit of the 5 fig./mo. goal, but article marketing is a certainly an important component of most any good plan.

For the most part, the people that are doing 10K a month in anything are not going to own up to it for the most part. Sometimes you will see it on sales pages or whatever, but I don't think it is the norm.

        With that being said...

For anyone that wants to make 10K a month at anything, the best advice that I can give anyone is to just start blasting!

You DON'T have to do everything right. As a matter of fact, my first couple sales came from an article on goarticles with BROKEN anchor text. Someone had to literally copy and paste the link in their browser to go to the site.

But, guess what that proved to me?

It proved that it was possible. It showed me that If I put my content where people could read it that I would make money.

As soon as I stepped back and looked at it and realized CONTENT=VISITORS=MONEY it was GAME OVER.

I'm not a smart guy. I didn't even graduate high school. Hell, I didn't even get out of the 9th grade before they kicked me out - But, I can put content on the net which means I can get paid.

The problem as I see it is so many people try to be perfectionists and think that to even play the game you have to have some complicated "business plan" - which isn't true.

The first thing you should be concerned with doing is PROVING TO YOURSELF that the money will actually show up in your account if you take action. Sure, you see screen shots of money in other peoples accounts all the time, but it's not the same as seeing even $5 in YOURS.

Originally Posted by Wade Watson View Post

I would assume that there are at least 2 people in this thread so far that make at least 10K a month from Article Marketing.

The thing that most people don't realize especially when just starting out is that 10K a month is CHUMP CHANGE. Seriously, once you GET the big picture, 10K is a STATING POINT.

I don't think that anyone would say that Article Marketing is the only piece of the puzzle. Just like any other revenue models it definitely has its pros and cons - It is however, the most effective way that I have found to drive traffic short of media buys which can be very expensive.

The answer is you can but you need to combine article marketing with list building and affiliate (and or your own) product promotion

    Main issue?

Many people lack the discipline to follow through and get results.

I think lack of discipline is a major problem people encounter when they first started on internet.

The biggest problem facing noobs is taking action to actually start DOING IT. It's pretty easy to say what to do but it's another to keep doing it.. consistently... even when there's days (and they'll be many) when you see no sales, little pageviews, little to no traffic and just no results.

The ones who make it through understand it takes a lot more than doing the simple 1-5 steps it takes to be successful (just because someone else said that's what you need to do).

Great posts Jeremy. That is the HOW-To aspect taken care of.... now doing the action everyday, consistently until you reach that goal? How many people can stick it out?

It took me a long time to figure out that making 1 sale from one article meant that I needed to be putting out that article everyday if I wanted to continue to make sales. But people get delussioned into thinking, because they got 1 sale per article, that means if they write 10 articles, that's 10 sales. It doesn't work like that!

As you'll find, when you scale up, the number end up ALWAYS looking worse than when you started lol. Write 10 articles, put it out there, track your results. There could be a number of reasons why you're not making money,

    - Bad offer
    - Wrong keywords (wrong audience or no audience)
    - Terrible Resource box with terrible CTR -> little traffic to offer

Test these in batches of 10 until your numbers start to increase.

Also SPY and COPY FROM YOUR COMPEITION.

Not only in your own niche but other niches too!

Hey Jeremy, When you link from your articles to the product offers, do you link direct to the merchant, or do you link to your own presale page. Also with cpa offers do you link directly to the offer from the article, or do you have a page you send them to first.

If you are sending to a page in between, do you have an old page you don't care about anymore, you would be willing to show, so I could see how you set them up. I have been doing article marketing for a few years, sending traffic to my sites, but never thought about using it for selling directly from the articles for cpa offers.

Great post, it gave me some ideas.

There are plenty of people who make 10k a month with article marketing. It would require a lot of keyword research though. You cant just spam out 50 random articles per day and expect to hit it. You'd have to find keywords that your articles can rank on the first page for and hope that they stay there for a long time.

Yes there are plenty of people who make 10,000 dollars per month as an article marketer. I am fortunate enough to be one of them. The trick is to build yourself to that level, so you have a system in place in at least four niche markets. I currently have seven sites in different areas. Last month they brought in 13,000 dollars. IT CAN BE DONE. It just takes hard work and passion.

I hear you. When people mention these dollar amounts, its easy to be skeptical, I felt the same way. What I've found is that what makes all the difference is when you can actually talk with someone who has done it themselves. Then the belief comes, and with the belief comes the motivation learn for yourself.

        Hey,

I think some people can do it , especially when they have their owen site, personally i never achived it:rolleyes:

However, you can make use from all data in this thread to try your self, i can share with you some tips for better article marketing that may be benefit you:-

TIP TWO: Tailor your Title - Make your title alluring and attractive. Questions such as 'How to...' and 'Why' are good for attracting the reader's curiosity. Top Tens and Top Fives work well too. Try to place a keyphrase within your title for maximum SEO opportunity.
TIP THREE: Paragraph - Make your paragraphs short and to the point. Try to avoid paragraphs larger than five lines if you can help it. Think about writing for Internet readers who like to scan for the best bits, so make it easy for them to read.
TIP FOUR: Keywords - You should carefully and strategically plant your best SEO keywords or keyphrases throughout your articles, but it's vital that they do not obscure the meaning of the sentences or make the article less enjoyable to read.
Don't make the article just about the keywords; just naturally allow the keywords or keyphrases to be used throughout the article. Use a keyword tool to find the most relevant keywords or phrases to suit your needs.
TIP FIVE: Publish - Internet publishing isn't like the restricted environment of printed media publishing. The Internet is a great democratic space that allows anyone to get published. When thinking about where you want to publish your articles on the Internet, start with your own website(s).
Next, stake out a few Article Directories such as EzineArticles.com and take a look at their article submission policies. Work out the FIVE or so article directories where you might put your work and make that part of your publishing process. Finally, look at the social networking or business forum sites and consider publishing your articles if their terms and conditions allow.
TIP SIX: Link - At the very bottom of your article, you should add a backlink to your website. You can add something like 'For More Articles - visit XXXX or email name@company.com. Some sites do not allow this, so read the submission rules very carefully. Don't fill your article with links; the focus is the content, nothing else.
TIP SEVEN: Tasters/Hooks - Some of the article directories allow you to put a short taster paragraph as part of the submission. This is great, but it's better to use that same taster idea elsewhere. Post a 'hook' or 'taster' paragraph up on a forum with a link to the article on your own website. Make the taster drive the reader to your site where they can become a potential client or customer.
Doing this will create a backlink that will improve your SEO and since the forum will probably be optimised too, your article hook will come up on the Search Engines too.
Writing a good taster means giving just enough information to tempt the reader into wanting to finish reading the article. So when writing an article 'hook' it's a balance between giving too much or too little information away.
TIP EIGHT: Word Count - Articles between around 300 and 1000 words are a good length for Article Marketing purposes. Too little and you can't communicate enough to build credibility. Too much, and the average reader will get bored and stop reading before the end. This will prevent them from seeing the link to your website. Don't waffle on; the length of the article need only be enough words to make your point.
TIP NINE: - Topic - Choose the kind of topics that people are likely to search for. Imagine that all people using a Search Engine are looking for a solution to a particular problem. Consider how you provide a range of solutions to potential customer problems. Write your article questions or Top 10s around those problems and solutions. When someone uses a Search Engine to find a solution, they should find your article as a potential answer to their problem. Topic choice should be driven by this philosophy.
TIP TEN: Outsource - Consider employing an article writer to produce the high quality content you need. This can often save you time and money and keeps the flow of articles coming for as long as you have the budget to pay for the service.

        B.Regards

However, on a serious note, what Jeremy just taught all of us is a priceless GEM, now all that's remaining is action.

He clearly opened it up to us BIG TIME!

Let me recap what I learned.

        1. Find some problem that will be embarassing for people.
        2. Write something that highlights it. Bring it out into the open.
        3. Create a suggestion for a solution in your resource box.

All we have to do is to rank our articles. He made more than a thousand in 11 days for one niche with just 2 articles per day. How hard can that be?

He made another 600? in just 5? days on another niche with another 2 articles per day.

        His ultimate formula is Content=Visitors=Money

        There's something missing here....YOU

Right on Omar, nothing will happen until you start. I have been doing this for over 2 years never made a dime only spent money. When I finally decided to do something is when I started to make money. Just in the last few weeks I have made over $1000 on a small number of websites that I built. The funny thing is I already knew how to do this but never took action. It's when you take action things start to happen, sure you will make mistakes but learn from them and keep going no matter what.

    It is definitely possible!

If you divide the amount into $/day, you just need to make $333/day. Let say you are selling an ebook at $10, you just need 31 sales/day.

If you have the database, you can easily make it.

Is it really possible to make $10,000 a month working from home and running your own business online? Does it sound like a dream? Is it even possible, let alone be a dream? And how many people actually make that much anyway?

The answer is YES. You CAN make $10,000 a month working from home and running your own work at home business. And YES there are plenty of people who make that much, or even more, on the internet. But it didn't happen overnight!

It starts out just like any other business. With a lot of "elbow grease" and hard work. There's simply no short cut to it. If you think that you can wake up tomorrow and make $10,000 while you slept, then you're right. You can! But only if you won the lottery or some rich relative died and left you his or her money. That's the ONLY way you'll make a lot of money in no time. Other than that, it's all about how hard you work at your work at home business.

It's just like any other business. You can't assume that just because you do it online, some miracle will happen and the business will take off by itself. You must realize that in order for any business to succeed, be in online or offline, you've got to put in the effort.

But what are the basic guidelines you should follow if you want to make $10,000 a month? Here's how.

    a) Target a niche that's lucrative.

You can't succeed if your target market is saturated, unless you're a genius. For the rest of us, we need to focus of building our work at home business around a niche that's not too big but yet not too small either. You must make sure that your niche is big enough for you to be able to sell to it and yet small enough that not too many people are targeting it. This is one place where SIZE does matter. And knowing exactly how big your niche is, is so very important.

    b) Focus on one thing

Once you find your niche you need to focus on it. It's easy to get side tracked or branch off into many different streams of markets. Don't lose focus! Keep doing what you are doing and focus on ONE specific thing at a time. Make it work 100%. And even then, there's always room for improvement. Many work at home business owners fall into this "diversify or die" mode and they spread themselves too thin. Don't fall for that. Focus on one thing and do it well. There'll be a time to expand, but not until you are making a considerable monthly income. If you are making a few bucks each month, you KNOW you need to focus!

    c) Test and Refine

You cannot be complacent about how you do your business. What's good today can be bad tomorrow. And you'll never know unless you test and refine your business process. Don't take someone else's advice on what's good for your business. Test it yourself! Use different website copies, headlines, calls to action, prices, bonuses etc. There are a LOT of areas you can test - so make sure you do it. And when your results are in, refine your business process. If your results are conclusive, make the change. Don't wait until it's too late. Refine your process and then keep testing it. It's a cycle. Not a movement. So repeat it often.

    d) Keep doing what works.

Sometimes you'll find that there are certain aspects of your business that you've tested and found that it works well. There's no need to change it. Well then don't. Many people think that change is universal and that EVERY aspect of their business should be changed. Don't be like that. Change only those that your tests told you to change. Leave other aspects that work, well alone. If they work - don't change them.

    e) Try to automate as much as possible

After a while you'll find that some of your day-to-day business chores take up most of your time and that leaves little for the rest. You always feel that you don't have enough time. Identify the aspects of your work at home business that take up most of your time and see if you can automate it to some extent. You might also be able to find tools or services that can do those tasks for you in less time or effort. If you can automate such processes and free up more of your time, you can use that time on other areas of your business that can be of more use to you.

    f) Replicate your success

If you've tested, refined, tested some more, and automated as much as you can then you will begin to realize that your business is now almost running in "auto pilot" mode. And this means that you can now run the business spending less time. And the profits have not taken a hit and have actually increased. Once you begin to see that you are making a considerable amount a month, it's time to replicate your business. And that means creating a whole new business that works the same as the one you've got. Once you get more than one work at home businesses running, you will have multiple streams of income. And now you are that much closer to your $10,000 a month goal.

    g) Keep Working Hard!

And finally, you simply can't find a substitute for hard work. Working hard means working smart. So as you start your multi income streams you must not let yourself slacken and lose focus. Keep a firm grip on your businesses and make sure you put in the same hard work that brought your to your $10.000 a month dream. Treat it like a business and it will treat you well - I promise you.

So earning $10,000 a month from your work at home business is indeed possible. But there are no short cuts and no silver bullets. Hard work and working SMART will get you close to that "dream" faster. And once you are there you'll find that all that hard work was well worth it!

Yes there is and has been people making that much. The difference is that most of the people REALLY making that kind of money do not brag or post about it...seriously...I really believe the true figures that size are kept to themselves.

If I said that I have done 20K in a single month with article marketing would you believe me?...

Everyone is focusing too much on the AMOUNT and not enough on what it takes to get to the amount.

When I set up a campaign in a new niche, here is my goal:

To rank at least one site on the first page of Google that makes 3 sales a day. If I can do that, then I make roughly $100 a day. If you do that 4 times, how much are you making?...Right around 10K a month.

Do a Google search for the keyword REVERSE CELL PHONE LOOKUP and look at the number of times that article has been viewed - I know at about what percent that product converts at and I can tell you now that the owner of that article is probably making 20K - 30K a month JUST FROM THAT ARTICLE.

To many people 10K probably seems like a lot of money, but again I will repeat - When you get the big picture it is a starting point! CHUMP CHANGE!

There are people on this very forum that will tell you that Don and I have GIVEN them niches that make them 5K+ per month and for the most part left the niches ourselves as to not compete with them. Think about that for a second....If we would leave a niche that was pretty much a guaranteed 5K a month...how much money is out there to be made?

The key to getting there though is not to get side tracked. Pick your niche, make your plan, and then beat the hell out of it until money starts to fall out - Then pay others to maintain it!

      RINSE
      REPEAT

Do that a couple times and you are pissed off if you only make $200 on any given day.

But, keep in mind that you should probably only spend time baclinking/promoting articles that have proven themselves worthy with a decent CTR.

I know someone is going to say, what is a good CTR?

The honest answer is, that is going to be different for everyone and for different niches. For instance, my idea of a good CTR in the weight loss niche is a lot different than my idea of a good CTR in a niche like criminal background checks.

Different niches have different levels of urgency which is something that you have to consider not only in niche selection, but CTR and sales figures as well.
Jeremy you are a article marketing God. I just cannot get enough of the useful advice you offer in these types of threads. I think I have virtually everything you have ever written on article marketing printed and saved in page protectors in a binder.

For the longest time I focused a lot of my efforts on back linking all of my articles. But now I see I was doing it wrong and wasting a lot of time. I think I may need to join a 12 step program for article marketing addiction

Well, if you have an article that has a good CTR it is a GREAT idea, at least in my opinion to backlink it or to have someone else do it for you.

It is just one more opportunity for you to get your words and links where people can see them.

Unfortunately, the strategies of social bookmarking and simple RSS submissions on articles are not that effective anymore so, you have to get a little creative in the way you do it to have the best results.

Would it be safe to assume though that a good majority (porbably 95%+) of those views are from people doing a Google search and THEN seeing the article. Not from people already being on ezinearticles.com and seeing it that way?

If that's the case, then wouldn't it be better to have the article on your own blog and then when people find it, you have them on your site instead of EZA and you can control things better?

Yes, that is probably safe to assume.

In a perfect world, you are probably right. However, consider that you can throw an article together for a keyword like "lose belly fat" and be on the front page of Google in 7 hours an sometimes with no linking on your part.

Your own site, unless it has some age and a decent internal linking structure doesn't stand a chance of doing that in any short amount of time.

Of course it is always great to get your own site up there too, but I'll definitely take a quick first page ranking while I wait for my own site to work it's way up which sometimes can take a couple of months to do. In the interim, I'm still making sales every day simply because of the fact that the EZA domain already has such a tremendous amount of trust with Google that they in many cases articles rank well without any effort.

Getting an article ranking well in the serps will get you a ton of traffic. You could put the article on your own site or blog first but if you start a new blog and post an article on EZA on the same day and do the exact same backlinking to each, guess which one will reach a higher ranking in a shorter time period.

That's what I plan to do.

I'm in the middle of creating my own product. In the meantime I was going to start posting articles to start building a list. My plan was to post the articles to my blog first (3 months old), let them get indexed, THEN post them to EZA. I just have a hard time with the fact that I am helping to build EZA and not my own site. Hence me wanting to get my articles indexed first on my own site.

Jeremy's posts have opened my eyes to a few new things in ways of getting traffic via EZA by posting articles about embarassing subjects and using resource boxes/headlines that will get people to click.

I have an article in mind right now that I am going to write that will be controversial. But again, I plan to post it to my blog first and then to EZA.

What do you guys think of that? Smart thing to do, or do I have my "facts" wrong about the whole indexing on my blog first then posting to EZA?

                Thank you.

You can post an article to your site and then post it to EZA...but make sure you have the Pen name as the author on the site. That way EZA doesn't have a fit when they see it...

As far as the question about changing anchor text ect..someone asked. The best way to do it that Jeremy and I have seen...As far as ranking well on say a 300 word article is to put the keyword in the title and once in the resource box as a link...and then we throw a click here link in too...

But often the article content won't even have the phrase in it...We have been experimenting...

We have one article that I wrote that makes between $20-$40 every day from a CPA offer...Doesn't sound like much but...I only wrote 2 articles in the niche and Jeremy will attest to the fact that they suck. So that article brings in at least $600 a month...actually around $900...

So for the person asking about 10k a month... What do you think? Is it possible with all the niches out there to get at least 10 articles to perform that well? Not to mention many will make more and less per day than the one I am referring to.

              $10k a month...is not a big mountain to climb...trust me.

Article Marketing is probably the easiest way to generate income...not always the most fun or glamorous but it can definitely get the job done. Now if you are someone that likes writing...WHICH I DO NOT...I friggin hate it...but if you like it. You are all set...

Probably one of the biggest problems with people not generating income in Article marketing is...They don't track where their articles end up in the Serps a day or 2 later... If that thing is on one of the first 3 pages of Google and there aren't 5 authority sites taking the first 5 slots up on the first page...You need to be building backlinks to that article.

Like jeremy was saying...we do redirects first to see if an offer even converts. If the sales page converts we might build a site on that domain around the subject of that offer. But in reality...you don't have to...You can get your articles to rank well and do a redirect forever if you want to. That is why Article Marketing is so newbie friendly too...Hell you don't even need hosting...you can redirect straight from the registrar where you bought the domain.

Now Web2.0 sites I don't typically try to rank in the serps with...We use them to rank specific real websites. That way the carpet can't get jerked out from under us. The chances of a Web 2.0 site being deleted are sometimes good. Especially with competitors trying to attack you by reporting you for some bogus stuff to hubpages, or wordpress.com etc... So we use them strictly as PageRank machines with networks we build from them and push up our main money sites with the power they begin to have after we backlink the hell out of them too.

But EZA, GoArticles, etc...I doubt will be going away anytime soon...Nor do they want to delete your content. If your content brings them visitors they want you there. Greatest business model...Especially EZA...have people pay you to write your content...Doesn't get any better than that from their viewpoint I am sure hehe.

EDIT: I will say that Scribd is pretty awesome for ranking well too though and making cash from your content.

But often the article content won't even have the phrase in it...We have been experimenting...
Ok let me get this straight.....

So you're saying that the keyword phrase you're tying to get the ARTICLE ranked for, and not the landing page it points to, goes in only 2 places in the article - once in the title, then once again in the resource box as anchor text linking to your landing page........but NOT in the actual body of the article at all?

As I'm sure you're aware, this goes against a lot of info I've seen about putting keywords in the article body (once every 100 words), so just want to make sure I'm clear on this.

Also, I've always been under the assumption that you link to your landing page with the keyword you're trying to get the landing page ranked for, not the article.

But then again if we're just worried about ranking the article in google, not necessarily the landing page, this makes sense.

So Jeremy or Don, can you confirm this?

I have a feeling this little bit of info could be a huge hidden gem. I think I'll be doing my own experimenting.....

Thanks for all the great info guys!

Vyliss one quick question on your post are you submitting 10 articles to the same place or 10 articles to 10 different places? thanks for the help

There are 2 or 3 different ways I am testing out right now. Very intriguing, indeed.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean.

But when you start seeing tons of traffic from a keyword phrase you weren't even targeting, you'd be convinced.

Now, if we can figure out exactly what is happening and take advantage, I think it will work well - as long as we continue to provide killer content and not flood the internet pool with more crap.

But, to tell you the truth I am at a complete loss as to how the REVERSE CELL PHONE LOOKUP article actually makes any money. When I click on the link at the botton of the article it just takes me to a site where I can enter a phone number. I don't see any monetization at all!

Also, I see the there are 1.2 "million" links to that article. Why would so many people link to that article? What do they gain, or profit, by linking to it? Did the author of the article do any specific kind of work to get all those links?

You also mentioned that when you begin a new niche you use direct linking. How can you do that, it is forbidden by ezine.

Sorry about my ignorance in these matters. I am really new at this and I am trying to wrap my brain around all this.
The R.C.P.L. website will allow you to put in a number. I believe that after you do, it will reveal either very limited information or none at all, and ask you to pay the fee to see the info. For conversion, this probably works very well as instant gratification is $x.xx away.

The links are not natural; there are thousands of ways to build links to any page on the internet. There are ways you could get hundreds of thousands of links in weeks.

Ezine Articles allows direct linking if you buy a domain for the sole purpose of linking to an affiliate offer. It must NOT be a sub-domain and NOT an internal page. Just a PHP redirect (or 301/302 in cPanel) to the link with your affiliate code. There is a way you can use a frame to display the affiliate page, and keep the URL the same. For a standard redirect, for example, you would buy howtolookupcellphonenumbers.com, supply your host's DNS servers, login to cPanel on your host and forward the add-on domain to reverselookubabc123.com/affiliate=you.

You would see it if you entered a phone number. The way it works is that it tells you that the information about the number is or isn't available for free, but you have to pay to actually get it.

You use a top level redirect - you buy a domain, set it to redirect to the landing page, and then use the domain for the links in the article resource box. This IS allowed by Ezinearticles.

It's also helpful because if you decide that you want to start sending people clicking on the links to a landing page or another offer, you don't have to edit the original article; you just change the redirect.

I have a question for Jeremy (or anyone else)...

We want the article itself to rank, correct? And when I say that, I mean I submit my aticle to Ezinearticles and it gets approved, etc.. I want THAT article to rank, right?

So, then, I'm not understanding how a Web 2.0 site factors in. If my article was a blog post, I would be trying to get my blog ranked, right? But its not, its an Ezinearticle...so how does adding more content to my blog affect the ranking of that article since it isnt hosted on the blog?

Or am I missing part of the strategy?

      Of course

But, keep in mind that you should probably only spend time baclinking/promoting articles that have proven themselves worthy with a decent CTR.

I know someone is going to say, what is a good CTR?

The honest answer is, that is going to be different for everyone and for different niches. For instance, my idea of a good CTR in the weight loss niche is a lot different than my idea of a good CTR in a niche like criminal background checks.

Different niches have different levels of urgency which is something that you have to consider not only in niche selection, but CTR and sales figures as well.

To me WEB2.0 sites and article directories are all the same thing. At least in the sense of how the search engines treat and ran them as well as in the way that they set up internal linking structures.

Understanding what the search engines will tolerate when ranking with these types of sites is something that will in many cases be the difference between sitting on page 3 and owning the first page with 5 or 6 different properties.

Honestly, hand submitted articles are not a major part of my linking strategy so, I don't put a lot of thought into it.

One anchor text will usually be the keyword and the other will most times be "click here"

Jermy pretty much laid it out well, but I'll add Keyword research is key along with promoting CPA offers. Once you get the process worked out just scale it up. At some point you will likely have to start paying others to write articles, but that is not a big deal as you should be making plenty of cash from the offers.

One hint, tell a story and conversions are better. Write an advertisement and they normally suck.

This is what I have been doing, I found that it is safer to mass link to these sites because they have a lesser chance of being sandboxed. I typically do not do that type of linking to my main site, especially if it is new.

You are only going to make money through article writing if you'll find first of all a huge number of potential customers interested in the products you are promoting. If you won't find people that will buy what you are trying to sell, you won't make money online, even if you'll use PPC, and the most powerful advertising methods.

This means that first of all you indispensably need to find your specific customers, and only then, find the best products to promote: you have to give them exactly what they want to buy.

If you have this mindset, everything else is easier. Article marketing is a great free method that you must use to drive traffic to your sites, and to convince your readers that your products are really good. And there are many other free methods that can help you the same way. You only have to find the right people to promote to, and the right products.

      Hi,

5 to 7 years is a long time....in fact too long.

I have known Jeremy for about 1 year when we just
started out and Jeremy had amazingly made so much
      progress within 12 months.

So 1 year can bring you this kind of income if you
know what you need to do.

You can install the add on for firefox, searchstatus. You will see a little 'q' in the bottom right hand corner once its installed. Go to the article you want to find out about and right click on the 'q'. Then you select 'show backwards links' and then 'page' and then 'yahoo explorer'. This is what I was taught. I have used it also.

        The add on is here

IF you're doing top level redirects...

...how does one track CTR for individual articles on EZA?

I have stats for all my articles collectively, but that doesn't help much.

The only thing I can figure is:

    * Install a redirect script, like the kind that works inside Wordpress (for example),

    * Assign a redirect for EACH ARTICLE; i.e. mydomain.com/1 for article 1, and so on.

    * EZA will tell you the # of views, while the redirect script stats will tell you the clickthroughs.

Can someone fill in the blanks? Is there a better way to track clickthroughs on individual EZA articles?

I might be misunderstanding what you're asking, but you can track the number of clicks you're getting for individual EZA articles at the site.

Login, and then you'll see the account statistics box on the right.

Click Article(s) Views - this'll bring a up page where yoy can view your clicks and views for your pen names.

Click the pen name you're interested in - this brings up a list of the articles under that name with their views and clicks listed individually.

      And there you go.

wow jeremy has killed it with advice on this thread. kudos.

I agree that its not an overnight success. We use it to build out tons of long tail keyword rich articles. Then its a matter of picking a good site that ranks well to post them. Best is always a guest post on an authority site. But ezinearticles, buzzle & associatedcontent are good places to start because they have editorial review that try's to screens for more quality unique content vs generic article spinning.

Jeremy hit it right on the head. Don't make article marketing more difficult than what it is. The main thing to focus on is keyword density but be careful because your content has to be readable (don't just write for the search robots). When writing content always take the "unfinished" method. Give them just enough to keep reading but if they want more information they will have to click on the link in your resource box.

Yes, it is possible to make $10,000/m article marketing.
Here is how one person did it (I'm quoting him)...

    How did I do it?

First of all, I have been plugging away at it for over 3 years.
Second, I have been very aggressive about achieving it.

I remember when I first started writing articles, I would look
to see how many articles I needed to get on the first page
    of the author results.

And so that was my first goal (I needed about 800 or so to do that,
if my memory serves me correctly).

Then my next goal was to get "above the fold" on that page
(I needed about 1300 or so to get there).

Then literally one by one, I would write enough articles to
surpass the next person on the list.

Of course, in the meantime, I have generated about $400k in revenue
from my articles, become number one in many article categories.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------

So, I guess it's possible (but not easy). Good Luck to ALL.

This is a great illustration of the step-by-step process he went through to reach 5 figures a month via just article marketing. It isn't easy, and it definitely isn't attainable overnight. What he did though was to break it into several easier steps that were more concrete and feasible, and this is what I feel everyone should do with major goals in IM.

It's just a little too abstract to view some huge defining goal without having some kind of framework to it, and this is what these little steps provide.

Wow...800-1300 articles to get to the first page? Were there any keywords in the articles? I just think that is a really large amount of articles...many people here do it in even less than 20 articles depending on the keyword your after. I think people reading that number may be turned right off article marketing.

    Great post Jeremy,

Ive only just realised the power of AM lately. Ok here is my experience lately. About a year ago when I first starte IM I bought One Week Marketing and basically wrote six articles stuck 3 on Ezine using a redirect and 3 on squidoo and threw a few backlinks at them nothing major though as I was clueless then.

Clickbank commissions so far over $500. With $150 in the last week and I know I will get more sales. Now I know a lot of folk will say whats the big deal in taking a whole year to make $500 but that fact of the matter is it took me a few days to write the articles and throw a few basic backlinks at them, there was no effort put in to them and I have never even looked at them since. I know quite a bit more about IM now so can you imagine if I scaled this up and actually put some effort in to it which is what I will be doing very soon.

From what I understand, the trick is to write an article for many sites promoting your site / sites at the end of each arrticle, so for example if you write 10 articles for 10 sites each week and you promote say the same affiliate site eac time you are bound to get the hits....

    Just a thought.

You make much more than 10K per month using articles to market with.

You want a few different accounts.

You will do all your article writing at first to get started, but as soon as you have some money coming in you start outsourcing articles too and continue writing.

NOTE: You need the right business model to really make the BIG bucks with article marketing.

    Webmind,

I'd suggest looking at other landing pages for the product that you want a landing page for, and creating your own. It may be a struggle the first time, but the knowledge you learn will be invaluable.

And once you've got a landing page you are happy with, you can easily make minor changes to have it go into other niches.

I've created one page sites that are lander pages, and when that niche works out for me, expand things. Its a nice way to play the field without investing TOO much time.

I learned two very distinct points from this thread:

    1. How to find a niche. I took Jeremy's idea and ran with it big time.

    2. Now I get to mess with people's head in my articles to incite them to action based on emotions and physical need.

The thing to remember that having a site will mean that the content is really YOUR OWN. On another website, the site can experience difficulties and have to close down or anything negative can happen.

Though not usually something that happens, nothing is sure when your content is on another person's website, so I would invest in my own website if I was serious about such a project.

It's actually even much easier using Jeremy's ideas since the Panda update. Quality has always trumped quantity, and this is more evident now than ever before. The only thing I would add is an article marketing strategy I have been using in all of my stiffly competitive niches. It's what I call the "Hitching a Ride" strategy; nothing really new, but quite powerful and highly effective.

Find relevant high-authority sites that rank in the top 1-3 of SERPS for your keywords, and contact the site owners to syndicate your articles there. This is nearly as effective as being in the top 10 or even page one yourself, but without all the hard work and time. Having your articles on such high PR sites will drive highly convertable traffic and quality backlinks very quickly as you continue to build your own site to rank.

I'll have to agree that you can probably hit at least $5k/month within 1 year if you write and submit 10 articles a day for 365 days, you'll have over 3,600 articles. Each targeting 1 or multiple niche markets.

Personally I have only submitted 70 articles on EZA and like 10 articles on GoArticles and about 20 posts on my blog (which has backlinks from the EZA articles, and social networking sites, etc.)

I haven't worked on my business for the last 18 months, but this whole time I was consistently earning ~$200/month on autopilot and have banked over $2,000 during my off time, I have another $150 check coming soon from clickbank.

I'm coming back full swing since I'm now done with college (wow what an evil hindrance, and I'm not planning to work for anybody!)

I know it sounds crazy and "impossible" but you can't really fail if you have so many articles linking to either your affiliate product or your blog (which is filled with rich content and more affiliate offers)

My advice: build backlinks to your blog using anchor texts, it's the best way to get #1 on Google in the long run.

The biggest problem people have is they want immediate results. Just keep at it for 1 full year, stay focused, do your keyword research, produce rich content around those keywords, and you really can't fail. Just think of it that way, you really can't fail with so many backlinks directing to your site/blog.

I've gotten half way there a little over a year ago with article marketing. I won't tell you it was an easy task. But, here's what I did...

    1. Find a niche
    2. Write (at least) 5 "excellent" articles and post on Ezine Articles each day. (7 days a week)
    3. Send a link to a CPA landing page or your own blog that links to a CPA offer from the resource box.

    That's about it.

The key is proper keyword search and formatting your article in a way that gives the reader a reason to click on the Resource Box for more information.

To make $10,000 a month with article marketing takes into consideration several factors, the niche you are in, and the ability to be able to churn out articles en masse

Not true. In several niches, I make that much with just one or two articles. The secret is leveraging your articles through syndication.

          Its quite simple.

          Here is article marketing novice...

"Whoa cool I just had these 10 articles written, I need to spend a whole day putting them up to the first top 100 articles I can find...and make some coin!! I can't wait."

They probably see some ok results, but nothing killer.

          Enter, killer pro article marketer...

"Hmmmm I have this article, It is very good quality. Now where is the best place it needs to go, so I get lots of high quality readers I can pep up and get them to subscribe to my optin page and buy my stuff!!!"

They are more likely to do a bit more running around, but if the article is high quality and getting targeted reads, they are more likely to read, click and either subscribe and buy. You just did you job well.

Syndication is not just splashing it on guest blogs, and directories, its more about putting in on high traffic sites in your niche. The ones that have a large following and get huge amounts of traffic. We do this online, offline, in forums and everywhere that again gets high quality readers and high quality traffic.

That is how article marketing is really done and get you some insane results.

Spamming article directories use to work, but that is now probably called article spamming. Just blasting across directories and hoping someone in your niche, or a high traffic site in your niche will pick it up.

Perhaps this post can provide a little more insight. The rest of that thread explains the basics of article syndication, and this resource details the article syndication marketing model itself.

Article Marketing can no doubt earn you $10,000 per month. The question is how much time and money are you willing to invest in order to receive $10,000 per month.

    5 hours n $100 a day for 3 months?
    4 hours n $80 a day for 4 months?

If you can write your own article. That's good! you save the money part If not, you just need to hire someone to do it.

    God Bless,
    Jeremiah

I'm not sure that even that's necessarily true, but even if it is, that's perhaps why article marketing is being discussed, rather than blogging.

It often seems to me, reading this forum, that the primary requisite for making a living through article marketing (and one so often missing in people who try), is understanding the difference between article marketing and article directory marketing.

Unfortunately, many people who think they understand the basics (and quite a few who habitually offer others advice about them) simply don't understand the basics. That translates very directly into one's ability to earn a living from it.

Making $10,000+ per month from article marketing has nothing to do with the ability to churn out articles en masse. It's possible to earn that - even in competitive niches - from small numbers of articles. What determines the income is mostly knowing how to use the articles (and what sort of articles are needed), not how many of them there are. I write only about 25 articles per month, and earn far more than this from them.

Well, based on what I read of your stuff here, your writing is something that is specifically suited to this way of earning a living. Writers who can churn out high quality content as quickly as you seem to be able to are a rare sort. Even one article a day, if it is something that can be syndicated widely, is quite a bit, and maybe you take the talents you possess for granted. I don't know.

The mistake, I would guess, that many people make who try and fail at syndicating their content, the way you explain what you do, is not recognizing they they do not possess these same talents. Or the inability or unwillingness to purchase the content from someone who can consistently write compelling content - not just for the articles, but for the landing pages and email messages.

Talking about people who attempt to "market" their articles by submitting to article directories for short-term traffic and/or backlinks is not even worth discussing. Tell me one person who does that successfully. I'd like to hear it.

Excellent advice Jeremy! Though definitely have to agree with Vyliss, i.e. they stumbling block for more newbies is actually getting started and doing things.

Also, don't expect for things to work and be right from the start - you will make mistakes and some things won't work... but you have to keep AT IT to make IT! Learn from your own mistakes and keep on getting better.

So let me get this straight on article syndication...I have a few questions...

    1. You write an amazing article for your niche, then you try and contact sites, blogs, or publications that may publish your article? Or do you first post to a site like Ezinearticles, and then contact those sites and ask them to syndicate (or publish) it?

    2. When you say you have built up your own personal networks, are these people that have said that they will publish any new content you create on a regular basis? And is it under your real name or a pen name all together?

    3. Are you sending your traffic in many cases to a squeeze page or a blog? I would think authority sites may not like the idea of the traffic going to some form of squeeze page and reject publishing your content. Am I wrong? I would think some sort of content site or blog would look better in their eyes.

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just curious.

I can't answer for the others here, but here's how I do it.

I don't look for sites, blogs or publications that might publish one specific article. I look for sites, blogs and publications in my niche or a closely related niche that already use syndicated content. I also have quality standards they have to meet before I'll spend time on an approach. I'm not looking for a cheap link on some backwater autoblog or MFA scraper site. I want my articles published in places where real people, interested in my niche or topic, will read them.

Typically, I'll have a handful of articles available. I'll send my approach email along with one of my best articles, one I think will match their site's audience. I also include a link to a page where they can take one or all of the other articles, pre-formatted in either plain text or basic HTML, and containing the resource box.

There is also an opt-in form to be notified of new content before it's available to the general public.

I drop a copy on EZA after the article is indexed on my own site and after the publishers on my house list have a chance to get it indexed on their sites.

These are people who have said they want to be notified when I have new stuff available. I don't try to force them to publish anything. I let them know that the content is there, and that they are free to use it if they think it will please their audience. Some regularly publish and some pick and choose.

The articles are under whatever pen name I'm using in the niche.

Lately, I've been testing a modified squeeze page, kind of an advertorial for one of my lists. Instead of the usual handful of bullets or teaser video, there's a carefully written, educational piece designed to draw the visitor deeper by opting in. If they choose to explore and read additional articles, they can do so. But they will continue seeing the opt-in offer prominently displayed.

Prior to that, I sent people to a page with a related article and, as Alexa calls it, "a highly incentivized opt-in offer".

I'm also a publisher of syndicated content, so let's flip this around and look through the other end of the scope. Your instincts are good. As a publisher, one of the things I check before using an article or other content is the destination my visitors will reach should they choose to click the links in the article. Sending people to additional content, which will extend a positive experience, scores points. Sending them to a squeeze page loses points.

I've actually passed on great content because the destination MY visitors were being sent to didn't match MY standards.
