Product/Market Testing Successes?
The popular method I've heard of so far is to do everything you need to do to make the sale except build the product. Make a free offer download/lead product, landing page, sales page, etc, put out some ads or articles to drive traffic, and look at the numbers.
My question with that is: What do you do if people order and it's going to take you another couple of weeks to actually make the product? Refund them? Not charge them? Is there a better way to test if people would be willing to buy? It seems like there has to be a good way to do this without getting in trouble with the Better Business Bureau.
I would also love to just hear about anyone who has tested potential products, learned which ones were the duds and then pounced on the successful ones, and how you did it.
