I hope I'm in the right forum area...
I'm looking for the best options in terms of quality, free images to accompany some blog postings I'm currently writing. I've been constantly coming across sites that extend offers for free images...but then they slyly hook you into a subscription after a very short period of time. I'd have no issues about paying a small fee--as long as there are no clandestine gimmicks! I would, however prefer a totally free site, if one does in fact exist somewhere out there (I'm probably not putting in the right key words). Any suggestions on reputable sites will be greatly appreciated!

If you search the forum using the keyword "royalty-free images" you'll find several threads full of suggestions. But while I'm here, for free images to use on blogs, pixabay.com is a pretty good resource.

I just posted a Pixabay image in a thread I started.

I used to buy off Fotolia, until I found PB.

    Unsplash.com is another great alternative.

But here's the thing . . . just be aware that these free sites are built on contributions of photographers around the globe. You are putting your trust in the fact that the donated image really did come from the person that submits it and they are the copyright holder.

For my own peace of mind, I prefer to have purchased and own a license to use a photo according to the terms of the photo site. They hold their contributors responsible for copyright issues. You can find great images for under a dollar each - so the cost doesn't have to be prohibitive.

    Good luck to you.
