I want to start a review/info site for affiliate marketing but i am not a good writer

Hi all,

I am planning to start this with the intent of keeping it for years and hopefully make money along the way thru affiliate marketing.

Problem is, I am not good in writing as you can see so content will be a big problem.

Questions:

-What is the best way to do deal with this? Can i copy articles from other websites, edit then post them to my site? Is this legal?

-How should I target keywords if I plan to do an info site such as howto or bestproducts as these sites have different topics in every article they post.

-Is it ok to put affiliate links in every single article?

-What is the best way to drive traffic? Should I do paid traffic? Or paid traffic does not work on type of sites?

-How many article should I submit per day/week/month?

-How can I ask for their email? What can I give to them in return?

Thanks heaps in advance!

    Hi,

    I would not copy articles.

You could by PLR articles and then rewrite them yourself or use Iwriter where you can purchase articles from $3 each.

Ideally you need to submit an article a day at least for the first 2 months.

If you do this you should get some free traffic after a couple of months.

Another thing you can do is create small videos and upload them to Youtube with a link back to your website as this will get you some great free traffic.

You will need to create a free report or give away a free ebook in return for someone's email.
You will also need to join an autoresponder service such as Aweber to process this for you.

Hope this helps and good luck with your new website!
    Best Regards

      Thanks Ged for the response.

I have no plans to copy and paste the articles in my site as that is plagiarism.

Where can I get the free reports from and ebooks?

Judging by your questions, this is a bad, no, an AWFUL idea for you. Surely you have some existing skills, knowledge you can parlay into something better, eh?

WHY do you want to do this? You would just be competing with scores of other people, nothing unique, you offer nothing, and you want everyone else to provide for you.

Why not blog (if you must) instead of reviews about something you already know and do? It will make life much simpler and you'll get to your goals faster.

Also, make Youtube a friend and do a search there, about 1001 videos on how to set up blogs, review sites and a million one web sites with free info on how to do it. But really, don't you have a PLAN B, one with a little bit more reality in it?

I thought that this is a forum where clueless newbies like me could ask questions? I thought that there are no such thing as stupid questions? Then, what made you say that I had an AWFUL idea basing from the question I've asked? Kindly explain? So review sites with affiliate links are a no go these days? Why?

I want to do a review/info site because I think that this is the best way to do affiliate marketing. There are lots of products and services that are offered online which pay affiliate marketers a certain amount if I can refer a client to them.

What do you mean that I provide nothing? Are all products and services been reviewed? New products and services are coming out off the market on a daily basis, right?

What do you mean when you said that I want everyone else to provide for me? Huh? In what way? I am a bit lost here. Kindly explain

I am taking this into consideration to. Blog is like a daily diary right or am I wrong again?

I am not asking on how to set up a blog or a website. I am asking on how many articles I can submit per day/week/month and if keywords are needed if I will do different topics.

What made my plan to make a blog/review site unrealistic?

There are a lot of videos in youtube which made a lot of them outdated right? Some things that were allowed one, two, or three years ago might not be applicable now. and youtubers do not respond right away.

      ---

That is why I started a thread in this forum to get help and advice from you guys. This is the forum where aspiring internet marketers like me can get advice from different markers too. That is why I posted here and not watch the videos on youtube.

I am really confused on why the response was so negative.

Let me review my comments, and maybe, I owe you an apology, ok?

Maybe I didn't take your "I am not good in writing..." as seriously as I should have.

I see your question about if you can copy articles from other websites, and it appears I was not the only Warrior who read this as a "is this OK to do?" question, which set off my red flares. But since you are not good at writing and expressing your thoughts in a way which is understandable, it made me wonder if you doing a review site of any kind was a good idea.

Then, you went to target keywords, which to most people is a way of saying, I know nothing sbout SEO and how search engines work, which seemed like another block you have in front of you.

Should you put affiliate links in every post?, well, test it and find out.

You are clueless about your traffic source, even if you could buy traffic, where would you buy it. It seems that someone who wants to do this would have at least thought about the traffic source, but then it appears this may be one of those build it and they will come type deals.

Sure, this is the forum where the clueless ask questions, and as often as not get the answers from experienced marketers they need to make an informed decision. It is not a forum, however, where OPINIONS are held back, they run rampant and are often mistaken as negative.

I said it was an AWFUL idea, because of the questions, like copying content for example which to me showed someone who has not done any research, or investigation, or thought this idea through to completion. My opinion wasn't meant to offend, however it appears it did.

I thought I was being helpful, keeping you in REALITY, and pointing out how unready you are to even ask the clueless questions.

You think review sites are the best way to do affiliate marketing? Based on what? Who are you following who tells you to set up review sites?

I stated you would be competing with existing sites, run by EXPERIENCED marketers, it is hard to understand how you would think this is the BEST WAY to do affiliate marketing, maybe it is and you now have a chance to prove me wrong, I can be your asshole who motivated you to "I'll show him." Most success has one of those stories in their back pocket, so if it does motivate you, then you are welcome.

I said you brought nothing, that was my bad, MY poor writing, no excuses, it had to do with going over my alloted time to address a mess of an idea. I meant you didn't bring anything to the forum which would indicate to us you are serious, have done any meaningful research into this, it seems off the top of your head...

like so many newbie posts these days, it had a very fuzzy idea, more of a "I bought into the concept of setting up review sites, now how do I do it"

I stand by my AWFUL Plan comment, but maybe my tone was taken as negative and not as constructive criticism or tough love as it was intended, so for that poor writing, then I am sorry.

Please, go ahead, do what you want to do, and I wish you nothing but success with it, and at the appropriate time, I will eat crow and become one of your most ardent supporters and cheerleaders...fair enough?

Until then, good luck. You did receive some good answers to your questions, if you want to develop a PLAN B, I'd be happy to help, gratis. Just to show there was no evil intent on my part.

        Respectfully,

I am not looking for a quick buck.

I will do something like bestproducts but of course with different content.

You are right when you said that I would be competing against experienced marketers but then again as I have said, i plan to keep this for years and hopefully wont run out of topics which I am pretty sure I wont.

Are you using an electronic device to write your messages here?

Then, what made you say that I had an AWFUL idea basing from the question I've asked?
Ummm it might be that you have chosen to do something you know you are not good at and instead of asking how to get good at it you want to find ways around getting good at it.

or it could be that despite knowing you are not good at something you are full speed ahead wanting to go forward with the plan of seeking success doing what you don't know how to do

        What did I do wrong??
Trust me you are not alone but the answer to that question is easy. starting out your IM journey being mentally lazy thinking the necessary things will fall into your lap.

Can't write should I take someone elses content (instead of getting better at writing)?

Google is sitting right there but ask a bunch of strangers what I should do? on a forum

All signs of the syndrome that kills more IM careers than anything else. So yes this is a place for newbies to ask questions but the first answer any seasoned person will tell a newbie is they will have to apply themselves if they ever want to make money online..

If and when you do then the questions that arise AFTER doing so are soo much better and more productive than the how can I avoid getting better questions.

I am not lazy at all.

I am just asking for advice and hoping for a quick response instead of waiting for days or forever in youtube.

Or worst, getting a reply from someone with an affiliate link to go with it.

What exactly were you expecting. It seems you did zero research on your own. you just came here and plastered one thread with every newbie question you could find. try posting one question at a time and post them to the right forums.

I was expecting answers to my questions since this is a forum in which internet marketers can help/advice newbies like me to get started.

What made you think that I haven't done any?

I started a thread and asked questions that I thought would help me get started in creating a review/info site that hopefully would earn thru affiliate marketing despite of my limited ability in writing.

I thought that it would be easier for me to check for advice/answers if I just put it in one thread.

        What did I do wrong??

Seems like I confused everyone here. I told you that I am not a good writer.

I have no plans of copying and pasting any articles. Maybe just the same idea with my own "twist" but never copy paste 100%. Not even 50% or 10% of the article.

      Thanks for the advice.

    Hi Rtol,

yes with a "best products" site you will never run out of products to review.

Either write reviews yourself or as you have said you do not see this as your main skill, find someone else to write reviews.

I have done this before - I used writers on Iwriter.com who only charge from $3 up.

I started a review site and I bought 10 articles for $30 to get my site started and then I wrote articles myself.

That's the thing about marketing - you do not need to do everything yourself.

You spot an opportunity - as you have - and then you can outsource tasks that you want to and do other things that you are better at or would rather do yourself.

    Best Regards

      Yup.

I think the best way to do it for now is to hire writers.

I plan on hiring highschool or college students who are excellent writers as they would charge for a lesser fee.

Not sure if this is gonna work though as I am pretty sure that they will not be familar with seo but then again, i will not be targeting keywords as I would do different topics/products.

Hiring is the best option for me right now as I do not have time to write so many articles anyway as I have a got a full time job.

I will just give them the topic, product, and the structure of every article.

One thing to consider is -- who is your target audience and how will you reach them?

By doing a very broad "best products" site it's going to be hard to draw the right crowd to you. Paid traffic would cost a fortune. Which keywords will you use for SEO when your site is full of a variety of items?

Spend some time thinking of who your ideal buyer will be and where you'll go to find them.

Maybe choosing one type of merchandise...treadmills, laptops, keto diet books, items for new babies, etc. might be easier.

    Hi to you too.

I think the best option you can take right now is to hire writers. They can be easily found on freelancing sites like Freelancer, Onlinejobs.ph, Upwork, etc. Just make sure they avoid copying the work of others like the plague, plus they know how to cite their sources. It's very much illegal and will land you in big trouble if you're caught. As for the number of articles, I personally prefer quality over quantity, so if I were you I would post maybe two to four in a week.

Good luck to you out there. Cheers

I invite you to consider the following suggestions and hope you can get some value from them:

-Learn to write WELL ENOUGH and see how the market responds. Your writing needs to be free of major typos and misspellings, but grammatically as long as people understand you and the value of the things you sell you don't need to worry about it too much.

-I would not put affiliate links in every single article. Make them easy to find, but don't be too pushy. Give the prospect value up front. Give them information or background that they might need to understand the things you're reviewing with no affiliate links there (Example: Pretend you are reviewing PC parts. Have a few articles linked that explain core concepts in simple terms that will help someone understand what you're telling them.). Then when you review things, try putting the links at the start/end and see which gets better responses.

-I would use analytics or sales figures to track how the market responds to you putting out X number of articles a day/month/year. With YouTube, if a channel pumps out too many videos, it can overwhelm the viewers and hurt the viewership. I would say to start out with 1 every few days so you can perfect each one as you're learning. Then try making it 1 every 2 days and then 1 article a day. See how it impacts your sales and adjust.

-You can get an email by offering an incentive (Like Ged3 said, an e-book, exclusive articles, priority access to new reviews, more detailed reviews, etc.) and the opportunity for the potential lead to be kept up to date with the latest products that you review. Know your demographic and customer base. What things are you reviewing? Then based on that, what do those kinds of people value/care about?

Hi, I see you got many great solutions here. I would do two things: one: make videos. Create a simple video where you talk about the product that you are promoting, this kind of content is great and it can bring you sales and traffic if the video is optimized the right way.
    2. Outsource! let other people write some of the content for you. For ex - make a great video about a product you are promoting and then simply let someone transcribe it, this is very cheap to do... and if you want it to become a very good article, you can find a very good virtual assistant that can re-write it for you for a few dollars, or can even do the all thing (video + writing the article) and all for a very small amount of money. Hope that helps!

You can get articles written from good writers if you have some money to spend. but i would recommend you to learn to write in the long run.

This may not by your strong suit. If you cant learn the skill of basic writing, then try going to EzineArticles and buying some of their article templates, and learn the style and structure of them. They have review style article templates also, so start from there.

First off... One of your questions was "Can i copy articles from other websites, edit then post them to my site?"

Don't copy peoples articles. That's stealing and can land you in legal trouble. If you are not a good writer you can outsource in places like iWriter, Fiverr, etc. Search for article writing services. Have a budget and stick to it.

Look, I am not a native speaker of English, and my English is not fluent. Yes, I do make mistakes from time to time, not because I am lazy to master my English, but because I started seriously learning it 3 years ago (I'm 33 now).

I've been thinking for a long time whether to start a blog or not, but I did it - I started a blog, and 2 youtube channels in English.

And you know what? A year ago I uploaded a video on YouTube about making money by selling music online. Over 5000 people watched it, and it got 150 likes and 2 dislikes.

Did I make mistakes in that video? I did! A lot? Well, I don't know.

This message, for example... You are still reading it. Why? Because you can benefit from it, and you don't care if I miss a letter or misspell a world, right?

My point is, as long as you provide extravaluable content, no need to worry.

Moreover, as I see, English is your first language, so what's the problem? )

You should outsource your content writing to content writers like at Iwriter or find gigs on Fiverr that do content writing starting at only $5.

Simply find a good writer at least all of those freelance websites are full of them and many are top quality ones with great experiences in this area. Good writer can be one of the main part in chain for your website and possibly in the future you will need some more because of your website content.

On my site I offer an affiliate link with 30% commission. I sell a book for $79. Would you consider giving this a review without purchasing the book? I hope your answer is no. In my eyes a product that is worth a review will not be free. You can be assured people who offer worthwhile affiliate links have slaved their guts out, sometimes for years to develop a product. Would we want someone who can't afford to purchase the product and would ask another to write the review? It could be a crash and burn for us folks who have planned their pathway to success. I suggest you start with some good training. Have a look at Job Crusher - . (Not an affiliate link). You may have this type of business in mind.

Copying articles will likely just get you in trouble.

You could either work on your writing or outsource it.

You may want to consider your model though, why would you want to start doing something when you've clearly identified a huge disadvantage? Perhaps you should consider a different way to do this.

Start small and educate yourself. You have a lot to learn, but there's nothing wrong with that. We all need to start out somewhere.

Affiliate marketing isn't a get rich quick type of thing. If your goal is to make money you will probably fail.

You may want to invest in a mentor who can teach you step by step how to do it and basically hold your hand the whole way.

-What is the best way to do deal with this? Can i copy articles from other websites, edit then post them to my site? Is this legal?

If you make it unique enough, technically it is an original work, but I would not recommend this. Take pieces from different posts, along with your own thoughts and ideas, and create blog posts that way. Always cite your sources for full transparency. Hire someone on one of the freelance sites to help you create content. It won't always be the best, but with some work you'll find a great writer.

-How should I target keywords if I plan to do an info site such as howto or bestproducts as these sites have different topics in every article they post.

    Google Keyword Planner

-Is it ok to put affiliate links in every single article?

Yes. Recommended, depends on how you do it. If you're looking long term, you would also want to create content because it helps your audience. Mention an affiliate product around the end in a PS Line.

-What is the best way to drive traffic? Should I do paid traffic? Or paid traffic does not work on type of sites?

Paid is always good. It gets you targeted views. You should do this with the intent of having as many people convert onto your list.

-How many article should I submit per day/week/month?

As many as you can create and keep the quality good.

-How can I ask for their email? What can I give to them in return?

Give a free product away that relates to the niche you are working in. Use an autoresponder.

Find something you are good at and go with that... If you're not that good of a writer you're not going to have a successful blog or website and that's just a fact... the closest you could possibly get would be paying other people to write all of your blog post for you every time that you want a review or something written, but then all you would have is a collection of things that aren't really yours that you really didn't do any of and there would be no sense of accomplishment so dig deep look for what you can do what you are good at and what you like to do and focus on that, build on that enhance that strengthen that... I stand 5 ft 5" if I spent a bunch of time trying to figure out how to become an NBA basketball player what do you think the end result would be? LOL wasted time and energy doing nothing constructive of course... not trying to be a dick just trying to help you

    1) 100% original content

    2) No legal issues

    3) Sales-inducing text

    4) Traffic generating strategy

The secret? Appeal to sources' needs

If you have any questions, just ask away
