Transitioning my website to become Amazon FBA

Hi everyone,

Recently been analyzing my website site that I built in 2014. It started out as a blog for bike touring and over the years traveling by bicycle I've been thinking of creating products that are useful for bike touring and cyclist alike. For instance (Bags, Travel Backpacks) and other things associated with bicycle touring. I have over 3 years of content on my website now with a short small growing mailing list that I've accumulated over the years.

I recently been thinking of creating a specific product that will aid bike tourist and travelers. I wanted to personal brand the product with my logo and begin to sell it on Amazon and also my website and to my fans. I have a growing Instagram and social media feed that I built over the years so I can market my product through those platforms. I'm not sure how the item I want to produce will do exactly in my market but I think it will be a really solid idea.

This is in the effort to really scale up my business which isn't making any money. I mainly use it to share my travel stories so all my content is free. I think this is how I've grown my following with the compassion for bicycle touring and the photography and detail that's on the site.

Needing help on where to start. And if this is a good move to make. I wanted also know about the transition from a Wordpress site, how I would be able to integrate the FBA functionality to the current site. Also looking for words of wisdom on how I can scale up. Please share your experience. I can also drop the website link so you all can check out my website if you'd like. All help greatly appreciated.

Its a nice story man. FBA is competitive and you need to research your niche how profitable it is. I'd say sign up with Amazon associate too to start monetizing your audience with relevant products and more importantly you will know about the demand of your product. Then it will be easier for you to finalize what products you should order and start selling on Amazon FBA.

Sounds like you have a good idea. There is no need to "integrate the FBA functionality to the current site" because FBA really does not involve your site. FBA involves Amazon.com and that site already has tons of buyer traffic of course. Most people go straight there when they are looking to make an online purchase. If your product is there and people want it then they will find it and it will sell, especially if it is unique. You will need to arrange for product manufacture and packaging.

You may want to use Amazon's sponsored ads to promote it on their site, particularly when it is new.

As mentioned above you could also sign up as an Amazon affiliate (associate). This would involve your site where you could promote other Amazon products in the niche and also promote to your list.
