30 seconds, for real?..... They have locked my money up many times. This is why I have switched over to other service providers.

  • Stripe is technically much superior (extensive APIs, developer friendly etc.) and feature-rich (Debit-yes, BitCoin-yes, Alipay-yes!) payment GW than PayPal (stuck in 90s!). Stripe also offers lower processing fees if you have a lot of cross-border transactions (for a US business that would mean Asia, or Europe etc.). However, millions of folks already have PayPal account and feel safe to use it online esp. on a new website so you don't want to walk away from those customers by only offering Stripe.

TLDR; Offer Stripe (first and preferred checkout choice), and PayPal (other checkout choice).

paypal payments pro with gateway. That is a regular merchant account attached to your paypal account

I used that for years with no issues. Also, if you want to accept Discover or American Express you need separate accounts just for those. Not with paypal payments pro.

You will find different merchants but, probably none better.

Traffic doesn't leave your site with Stripe. They use a small clean looking popup for the credit card info.

The Paypal experience is stuck in 1999.

Getting the money instantly doesn't matter to me. As long as I get paid that's all I care about. They could pay once a week or month, not a problem.

          sorry for the late response.

It is a merchant account. Customers do not leave your site and do not know that paypal is the processor

I have had ecommerce sites since 2011 and have ALWAYS used Paypal until 2016 when Paypal wouldn't allow me to move funds out of the account. Honestly, until this day, I've never gotten an answer from them. That put me in a bind, so I went looking for other options and started using authorize.net (Flagship). Come to find out, I was able to save a lot of money over the course of the year by using them as they gave me a rate of 1.98% and a $5 monthly fee. That saved quite a bit of money over that timeframe....plus, you can pick up the phone and call a designated rep, which has been helpful. Paypal always charged me 3%, I think, unless I did a certain amount per month, then it would drop a little bit.

My core business is lead generation which I get paid mainly via ACH / wire transfers.

For my couple other ventures, I have used PayPal and have no plan to change. While I have almost 0% refund requests, I get about 2% fraudulent disputes. Which PayPal has been great at vetting out. Had a buyer went through their credit card company, I have no doubt I would have been screwed. If I could get a much better rate, it may be worth switching if the savings are greater than the fraudulent dispute losses I would likely end up taking. Which I have never taken the time to calculate.

Try Satchelpay, Revolut or N26. Heard many good reviews about them. Just ordered satchelpay card myself, so far the whole process seems very easy and simple.

I have more than 25 years in the international payments industry and while the responses here are good - you need to ask the following questions BEFORE you start giving out advice:
    1) What country are you in?
    2) What are you selling?
    3) What is your monthly volume?
    4) One time payments or recurring/continuity?
    5) What is your chargeback ratio?
    6) What countries do most of your sales come from?
    7) Average transaction size?

Depending on where you live and where your business comes from, you will have different options available to you. In the EU and Asia, localized payment solutions are available that are similar to ACH in the US - except that they are real-time and non-reversible. These are NOT available in the US.

Happy to give you some suggestions if you want to PM me.

i used to like Payza - but that is defunct

Paxum has also been around for years, but now it too is illegal in the usa

the SolidTrustPay is still around as a paypal alternative

paypal does not accept all types of sites, so if your site is declined by paypal, try solidtrustpay

I dont think there any exist. There are some fundamental things that you shoud follow to avoid getting blocks mentioning a few.

    1. For every order update tracking manually in Paypal.
    2. Dont withdraw the funds immediately let it be there for around 21 days before you withdraw actually and always keep 10% of it in account so they dont think you are robbing them
