There are loads of ways to get traffic... the best method depends on what you want to achieve, and your business model.

Guest blogging is effective, but time consuming.

Social media is good, but you're subject to algorithm changes.

SEO is great for longterm traffic, but again you can't REALLY depend on it.

If you're selling stuff, advertise. Then you control the traffic, and you can get as much as you like.

Yes right. Guest blogging can give you exposure and its an opportunity to let the world hear your voice and increase your visibility. For me, it's all about offering awesome well-researched informative content that eventually grabs the reader and keeps them coming back for more. Depending on the type of website you have will depend on the tactics you will use to get traffic to your site.

If your site is about you and your life then blogging and finding someone that blogs to talk about you can bring you traffic. This takes time.

If you have an e-commerce store and are trying to sell stuff then that will be totally different and somewhat niche specific. This can be immediate, depending on your budget.

If you have a local business then once again you will use a different strategy. This can be quick depending on budget.

SEO is a longer term game - well worth the investment and time.
Paid advertising is quick and can yield almost immediate results.
Social media takes time but well worth it.

See there are different ways for a different niche, so you should be very well aware of the thing you are doing. PPC is effective if you are e-commerce but if you want long-term effect then focus on SEO as well. If you are starting a travel blog and have money to spend then contact peoples on Instagram/Facebook and promote your self on their page. Answering on the forums related to your niche also helps to increase traffic. Right original quality content so that your visitors becomes your daily audience.

If you're serious about, I'd say paid traffic is the cheapest method initially. Yes, traffic from SEO is (money-)free but costs a lot of time.

So if you want to find out if your offer works in an efficient way, I'd say go for paid traffic (Facebook, Youtube, Google, Pinterest etc.)

Position your business in a way that it focuses on critical needs or problems or desires of a hungry audience
Present an offer to that audience that is exactly the type of solution they are seeking and prove that your offer works for others
Remove all risk and prospect objections from your offer
Get prospects on your mailing list and introduce your web site to them by giving the audience an incentive for visiting the site
Follow-up with everyone and show them that your solution/product/website is the only logical choice in the niche

Hi There

Are you a affilliate marketer selling other peoples products or do you have your own product.

FREE traffic is time consuming I was there and have less success but buying traffic s like 123 saves you time.Facebook is good but you must understand it very well. I've been their.There is nothing wrong with free traffic like guess blogging ,Facebook free advertising, forums and so on but you must have time to do it.
Their are many ways to get traffic, but the best is paid traffic

I'll contribute to this thread based on my personal experience. Do you have a website or a blog? If your website doesn't have a blog, then endeavor to have it integrated. My point being, blogs pull organic traffic! But you'll need to post content regularly and to share that through your social media. As a freelance writer myself, I'm regularly hired by businesses to produce content for their websites and blogs. So I know firsthand that that is the direction one needs to be headed to pull traffic.

It mainly depends on what channels are popular among your clients, and can bring your clients. If B2B, then SEO and e.g. Twitter might be an option. In case of yound generation I would opt for YouTube channel or advertising on YouTube.

As all that I have learned so far:
The esstential thing is to keep enriching related content on the site, this may not be the most efficient way but the most secure and search engine friendly way.
Apart from content, take full advantage of various social channels. A habit of sharing quality content often and forwarding the content from well-recognized people in your niche can help gain attention for your social account.
A faster way is to select some efficient and economical channels and advertise your site on them.

There are a lot of ways to drive traffic to your site and several platforms or which to do it. However, you have to select the most suitable ones that will project you to the right audience.
1. Join forums, contribute and comment regularly
2. Offer guest posts and answer questions often
3. Make use of social media- facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest. Pinterest is particularly useful.

Depends of what your site is about.

If your a local business or a professional offering your services on a local basis, you have two options:

1) For fast results, you can start with some advertising through Adwords or Facebook for example.

2) For longterm results, which in the long run will result far cheaper than Advertising, I definitely would recommend considering a good SEO campaign from the beginning. As earlier you begin, earlier you will get the profit of free traffic coming to your website!

As pretty much mentioned above...

SEO will get you free traffic but it will take you a little while before that happens.

PPC and Social traffic can both be very quick to start getting some clicks and visitors happening.

Unfortunately there's no magic button, you just have to try several things until one of them works for you.

You should use (Postcards).

They are cheap and you can use it to drive traffic to your site.

EDDM or rent a small list.

And do it for 3 months straight to build up some momentum for your business and consistent traffic.

As for as your site goes.

Just create a one-page opt-in site and give away a free report.

The key to success in the online business is to...

Focus on building a email list.

This is the key to making money online that many internet owners don't get.

So, just sell the free report or free mini e-course and then after you give them value, start offering your product or service or affiliate offers.

I've personally seen great results using Google Search Ads for my clients. You can get really granular with the data, finding out which state, city, zipcode, keyword, ad, time of day, day of week, and device generates the best cost per sale or lead which allows you optimize your campaign for maximum profitability.

I'm also a big fan of blogging which is more of a long-term play, but in general I believe it's better to out teach the competition than it is to outspend.
