Moving Company Promotion

Hi!
So guys after the hard time in my life I tried to start everything over again.
I started my local moving company. How would you suggest me to market it?
Shall I made SEO/Linkbuilding?
I post on Facebook local very active pages my ad.
I added my business to google.
I added it to Yelp and claimed (verified business).
I am starting using Thumbtack to get leads. (but they charge a lot tho)
Planning to run Google ads and set a budget of $10/day maximum.
Trying to contact apartment complexes and make connection with realtors in my area (of course for % lol)

Some questions:

1. Shall I buy "pre-movers" list of addresses and phone numbers and just start making calls?

2. Shall I use Yelp Ads? I was thinking to spend around $300 on Yelp ads but read some reviews on blogs and people say it is crap. Have you ever made ads on yelp?

What else do you suggest me?

I think I am on the right road. The main hard thing was to start all these

Thank you!

You said that you started a local moving company right? I know this is an internet marketing forum so I will provide you with a link that I would search if I were to look for a moving company when moving:

    https://www.angieslist.com/research/...ing-companies/

That said, the real estate business is very relationship based. Even if you use Zillow etc... you still connect with the agent and show up in person blah blah... so I would suggest that you connect with local realtors, banks (mortgage folks), homebuilders (selling local homes) and then push your services in that fashion. Sure, web based marketing will help, but I believe for a personal business such as yours, you need to connect with the community.

Oh - one more thought. When you do provide your service have the customer through up a message on a local web site. In our area we have a site called "the women of xxx county" where they post recommended contractors etc... these are personal recommendations which really generate business.

I tend to believe that a new company trying to do everything and market everywhere is a recipe for disaster. Aside from one time things like listing your business on Yelp and Google Places, your ongoing marketing efforts are far too wide for a start-up with limited resources.

What you need to find is the path of least resistance to acquiring customers and gaining traction for your business. One solid form of traction I'll help you generate income and reach profitability. Once you have a steady flow of profits coming in, turn your attention to additional marketing efforts.

Having just recently moved, I'd suggest focusing on your local online classifieds - craigslist, gumtree, whatever there is in your area. That's where I went to try and find a mover.
Unless you already have positive reviews on Yelp, I don't think advertising on there would help much.
Encouraging clients to give you positive Google reviews would definitely be a plus - I checked out all the movers on there before selecting one.

Your number one medium should be your local 'penny-saver' type publication. Extremely effective and very low cost. Perfect for this type of business.

Most have an 'online edition,' too!

An often overlooked, but essential strategy is being able to track your results to see what works and what doesn't. For offline advertising, this could be having multiple phone numbers and using different ones for various marketing efforts.

Here's a couple of web pages that will give you some ideas:

Are you utilizing free Classifieds like Craigslist, Backpage, and any other active ones in your area? You should also register your business on Bing, Angie's List, Yellow Pages, moving.com. Make sure to post ads in your local newspaper.

Angieslist is a big one and I would throw up the free ads on sites like Craigslist and Backpage just because you can and they are free. You might get a few jobs from there and it's worth it if you do.

I also recommend blogging if you plan to gain local ranking in your area. With a good blogging strategy and a good website, you can get listed high for top search phrases, which will bring you leads without paying anything over and over again for advertising.

I know this is an older thread, but the best way to start getting immediate moving jobs is to sign up with 2 websites: www.hireahelper.com and www.movinghelp.com.

My 1st year in business I set up very low rates and was making money instantly.

Then start getting those customers to post Yelp reviews.

    Enjoy!
