Affiliate Network- which to chose as a merchant

So I'll soon be setting up my first posting as an affiliate manager and I've begun researching what network to post on. I've been reading a ton of guides (and have some experience as an affiliate) but a lot of the information is outdated-- this isn't a problem for a lot of the strategy since most of it is still true. However, for the network recommendations some of them are less popular than they used to be or have a lot of spammers.

I'm going to be selling entertainment subscription boxes, right now I do want to focus on sellers in the U.S. since international shipping costs are prohibitive for most international customers.

I've been considering the major ones (JVzoo, CJ, Shareasale, clickbank, ect) but I'm wondering if anyone has their own preferences as much as a manager as an affiliate? I want to use something that will help me track and give credibility to the program. I also want to use it as a tool to find new affiliates however I will be sort of strict about who I accept since I really want to avoid spammers. I will also be actively/directly recruiting but I still want to manage it through a network for credibility and make sure that sellers are getting commissions on their sales.

I know CJ sorts through affiliate applications but they are a bit expensive. I'm looking for any opinions on what network is worthwhile in 2019, what affiliates prefer to use, what is worth the cost (like CJ), and any other helpful information in regards to choosing a platform/network. Any and all opinions welcome!

I have searched a little on the forum and there are posts about the most popular networks in general but most of them do not rank them or say what is still working/preferable in 2019. If this is a super common question/repost please link where I should be going.

    • It's a new enough business/product that there arn't any real competitors (yet). One of the small ones has it on ShareASale and I signed up for it to check it out and they don't even really actively manage it annd I don't think its worth following their lead on it.

  • If you're just starting out, WarriorPlus, JVZoo and Clickbank are good options depending on what you're selling. Larger more expensive networks like CJ should only be considered if you know your landing page converts well and have done thorough split testing to ensure maximum ROI

    • Well our landing page converts right around 2%, we've done split testing on it (more to come soon) and we are a growing and already have an active user base. I'll check out what other products are being sold on each of the ones you mentioned but JVZoo keeps being mentioned everywhere on this forum right now.

      I'm relatively new to affiliate marketing managing so a platform that helps finding quality affiliates and makes sure that affiliates are getting proper commission is really important (on a base level I really want to make sure attribution is happening properly, that there is limited fraud/parasites, and that it is easy to find and pay out affiliates, I can build out from there). So if CJ really gives an advantage on those things I may consider it.

  • The ones you've mentioned are good and have lots of affiliate. You could also check out maxbounty, peerfly, a4d, above all offers

  • Shareasale is pretty reputable, has a wide variety of merchants. They have very good search functions that helps people find what fits them best. But like other bigger platforms they do not use PayPal.
