How many niche sites do you run at a time?

I started out with IM/MMO as it is an evergreen niche but have branched out to several other niches and some around products that are trending at the time which I've flipped to make money or free up time for other projects. So how many niche sites do you run at a time or do you simply focus all your effort in the IM/MMO niche?

    Hello,

    I won't talk about what or how many niches I work in, but I'll say this...

    If you're a one-person show, then it can be really difficult to provide high value in all niche sites on a consistent basis.

    I personally will only get involved in a new niche if I'm able to put a proper team together and this doesn't have to be expensive. If I can't do that, I don't expand out.

      Same here, it's not easy to provide quality content to multiple different audiences as a one man show. I think it's best to focus.

    A single person can work on 1-2 niche websites at a time (personal experience). When I hired my 2 employees, we expanded to 7 websites. They were willing to learn as well as work harder and I was also willing to give them more money if I made more money.
    U need to find the right employees to work for u and u can increase your revenue multiple folds.

      Depends on what part you're trying to automate. If it's the content creation part, then I would say no to software.

    It depends...

    If you're trying to produce content for blogs by yourself, then the number will be VERY limited.

    However, if you outsource the content creation and focus just on posting the content and growing your traffic, you can do a lot more.

    Furthermore, it depends what you mean by "niche sites." Some sites might just be affiliate pre-sell sites. So, they don't need more content; they just need traffic (typically non-SEO).

    Finally, I don't necessarily think IM is the best niche for everyone. If you have a lot of knowledge or experience in internet marketing, then fine. It can be a good fit.

    But, if not, you'll probably face far less competition -- and enjoy it more -- if you focus on topics you have a real interest in or passion for.

    I still have loads of sites. Many still get some traffic even though I haven't touched them for 5 years.


    I'm gradually expiring the old domains though and focussing on around 5 really good sites.

    It's very important to diversify IMO but at the same time don't spread yourself too thin. I try to get a site established before moving on to the next.

    Optimizing and maintaining ad campaigns is much easier and far less time-consuming than trying to obtain and retain search traffic.

    It depends on the individual but if each site requires less than 30 minutes of attention (after initial set-up) per week, how many can you manage?

    It's best to just put all your effort into a site/project instead of spreading yourself too thin. There's only so much time in a day - plus the fact that most people would rather be using all the free time they have to play "House" with their spouse (if you get what i mean).

    If you want to branch out with multiple sites, eventually you're going to have to outsource the work in the form of employees... if you really want to make each new site as profitable as it can be. I really can't see you being productive running 10 sites at one time.

    There are some platforms that can help streamline your efforts at least as far as site building and tracking goes. I'm thinking of the Wealthy Affiliate site or the Builderall platform as some examples.

    You can also set up a Facebook fanpage for each niche and automate your Twitter feed with ads interspersed amid your content. There are a number of ways to efficiently manage more than one niche but, if they don't have your complete attention, the focus can slip away.

    I have a few niches that I've explored and some that I've let slide. As most have pointed out it gets time-consuming to work with several niches. The great white whale in internet marketing is have these niches run themselves if possible.Setup and forget until you get a notice from Paypal that you've made a sale.
