how to monetize a site that's getting 1,500,000 page view and 280,000 uniques per month?

I bought a website about a year ago that is getting a ton of traffic. Right now I just have Google Adsense on it and it's doing about $700/mo from Adsense only. I'm curious if you guys have ideas on ways to monetize the site with that level of traffic. I mean just the adsense are getting about 8,000 clicks per month on their ads. I feel like i'm leaving money on the table.

What are your thoughts/ideas?

    Try Taboola. Obviously you will have to meet their requirements for content quality and traffic. I hear some publishers are doing really good with them. Google "taboola for publishers".

      It's a site that lets people view and download instagram stories. So you can type in a username and then view the media of their story and then download the image or video file (as opposed to screenshotting or screenrecording)

    Also I would allow a couple brokers like Empire Flippers Valuate your site..you will gain some powerful insights no matter what.

      Thanks for the advice here! I did the valuation from Empire Flippers and it came in at $24,180. Good insights in the analysis about where/why the valuation is sensitive.

        Now I would be thinking of ways to get a bump in the monthly rev.

        It would really depend on what niche traffic. What is getting them there..maybe you can add a heat map widget to see the hot spots they are spending time on the site, add an affiliate program free trial video for a webinar invite that pays high ticket commission to you possibly.

    Also set up optin boxes for some ecourses, freebies etc just to get started building an email list as fast as possible.

    Nope. $700 for 240,000 clicks is $0.00291 per click. Simply not happening. Either your math is way off or you're lying.

      It's getting 240,000 unique visitors not clicks. Adsense says it's doing about 700-800 clicks on Adsense ads per month.

          Not related to your question but wanted to mention:

          I didn't read Instagram's Terms of Use but I would think what you described above -if it is what I understood- is highly likely to be a prohibited activity.

          If it works like this: User A comes to your site and downloads image/video of User B from over Instagram, well, unless this is something you have written permission by Instagram to do, I would strongly advise against it as it may put you in big trouble for breaching multi layers of laws/regulations.

          This one's I read very recently, actually. Section "11. Confidentiality" in AdSense Online Terms of Service (United States version) states -as far as I understand- that you cannot share statistical information/screenshots about your account. I believe only a gross "monthly earnings" figure can be made public by the publisher. Better remove that link, me thinks.

    I doubt your story, 8000 clicks per day cannot earn you $700 per month . Tell us the truth.

      If his ads are display ads then yes it can easily be that much. He only cites the clicks. But with the traffic he's getting his earning should be higher than $700 a month if you add clicks and CPM ad earnings.
