Having no money is not fun been there here's what you can do to get cash today First i would collect bottle is i had no money to start you can find or ask people if they would like to get rid of the bottles they have, Second after cashing in on the bottles is to buy a bottle of windex and paper towels and go door to door in the business section of town and say this i an washing car window's for a donation so i can feed my self or family if it apply s . Third after making money which you will take about $20 bucks and go to a discount store and buy a can of wax some rags some Armour all or son of a gun cleaner . Then call 3or 4 places that wash and wax a car and see how much they would charger to have a car done. Now go back to the business section of town and ask the owners if they would like to have their cars wash and waxed. If they say how much do you charged tell them that you will go and look at their car and give them a free estimate. Keep in mind what other people charge and charge the same. |

Great tips Dennis. As long as their is a need to be met you can make money anywhere. You can do this in the fall time with just a rake. Go door to door asking to rake people's leaves. Many will gladly say yes, either because they are lazy or don't have the time. When you do your first house - go to their neighbor and tell them to look across the street to see your work. If you did a good job they should be more then likely to let you do their yard as well. |

(On a side note, ladies shoes have pretty good resale value on Ebay if they're a high-end brand).

true story: When I finished school, i was homeless. I lived in my car. So i found the nearest used computer reseller and made a deal with him: 1. You let me use all your computers and internet. 2. I'll give you 50% of everything I make. "after all, your computers are just sitting there doing nothing." |

Anxiety and worry have killed many people, not reality itself. First figure out the absolute minimum you need to survive. This might include food, house rent, electricity, school fees and commute. Everything else (including credit card payments) can wait. Then look up other ideas in this thread for the fastest way to get cash in your pocket. |

| I concur with this vet. The very first step is to change your thinking. Change it substantially. We ( people in the western hemisphere) are raised to take for granted that we are almost hapless victims to fate, that we have almost no control over our reality. Learning a little of quantum physics may help change your outlook and your results. We are living in a time when stunning discoveries in the field of consciousness and how it affects reality are easily understood and accessible. Quantum physics shows us clearly that all we see and experience as reality and matter is really fundamentally energy. This energy in wave form only becomes solid matter when the force of consciousness is applied to it. Your consciousness is a supremely powerful force. More powerful than most persons can comprehend. This knowledge can help you in your endeavors. If you are still reading then I invite you to listen to great humanitarian and teacher. Dr.Pillai. In my view you can entirely change your life if you allow yourself to contemplate his basic message in this well presented YouTube recording. Keep in mind , if possible , that Dr.Pillai is speaking in scientific terms , not some woo woo spaced out dreamy concept which has no basis. Here are the first few links in one of his more important seminars; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=62xhpjptg-Q https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clIxTWc6RcQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sg_Fcqc2XT0 |

Ok let me contribute. If you are broke but have a computer, a phone, and a tiny bit of money this is what I would do. Become a highly focused youtube marketer. And focus only on marketing local services in your area. But you should only focus on high end services like home improvement, kitchens, bathrooms, basement remodeling, waterproofing, fire/flood restoration, painting, porches, gazebos, insulation, sheetrock, masonry, etc etc... sit down and make a list of services that sell for a few grand or more. What I would do next is... I hate to say this, but I would download a few cracked programs then buy them when you have the money. Adobe photoshop. Power director. Fl Studio. Get a list of local businesses, and copywrite a script for as many businesses as possible. Open up FL Studio, record the script using your voice. The more you do this, the faster/better you will get. Go on google, and download a bunch of stock images. You can use photoshop to plugin text and any other simple editing you need to do. Load both the graphics and audio/script into power director. Mix together 10 powerful videos for various different services. Then render about 15-20 versions of each video by shortening/lengthing the intros/outros of each video. You should wind up with 150-200 videos, many that are "unique duplicates". Target "service + town + your state". Do a bit of keyword research first to consider all the different service keyword speople will be using. Immediately start uploading videos and optimizing them. Try to focus on areas that aren't being targeted that much (theres a lot of them). Then, register 10 youtube accounts under 10 different emails. Use this software to backlink each video: IMTalk.org - IMT Website Submitter (3,000 free backlinks) You can also use: http://backlinks.auto-im.com/freepack/free.php (20,000 free backlinks - site appears to be down right now but there are other sites you can use, I have a list for anyone who needs). After all the videos are backlinked, comment on them and vote them up with your 10 youtube accounts. Try to finish all 150-200 videos (to save time, you can comment on videos after you proved the keywords/traffic on those videos - this will help increase conversions) In a week-2 weeks you'll notice many of them ranking on page 1 of google. At this point, you have 2 choices. Register a free google voice number, and set it up so you get emails everytime someone calls. You can pick up the phone, and forward people to a business yourself. ORRR you can register an account on something like callfire and use a tracking number. Send 1-2 free leads to XXX business. Record the calls so you have proof you generated them. Afterwards, call the businesses up and tell them you ranked youtube videos for their business. And that you have proof you generated those calls. Tell them straightout if they want them to keep getting calls, you will rent out a channel/package of videos or whatever. Depending on the volume of calls/how many videos, charge $40/month - $500 month. This will require some simple math to figure out. But don't be cheap, negotiate as high as they're willing to pay (businesses will pay ridiculous fees for leads). Take the money they pay you, the reinvest into outsourcing. You can then pay for the software you stole and also pick up more software if you need. Add fiver to the mix, and start rolling out more videos. Pretty soon you can take that money and start investing it into other things. Start building websites, register virtual addresses, set up google places, use fiver for citations, outsource review posting, rent out google place listings. Take that money then start your own local business. Get it licensed/insured and find specialized crews to subcontract/delegate out the work. Get some salesmen who sell on commission only. Cut them commission, cut the crews commission, take money for yourself, then reinvest more into marketing. Grow the business, learn how to automate/outsource as much as you can. This sounds like a lot of work, but for me it wasn't. Because I already had contacts with certain businesses, learned what crews they were using, and crews are ALWAYS looking to work. Keep growing, keep reinvesting. Buy out a few local companies. Buy out your competitors. Companies with good ranking websites and google places, but horrible copy/marketing/design. Redo their sites. Pour hot oil all over your competition. Make serious cash. Never worry about being broke again. Even if you don't reach the last stage, you'll still make great money. Like I always say, "think big", and if you get 1/10th of the way there, you'll still be better off than most people. -Red |

If we're 'DESPERATE', the ONLY PERSON that could change our situation is OURSELF! Others external things won't change our own situation, so care less about the external, look up in ourself! This is How I always react to myself when I'm desperate want something so badly. Here How: "Tell Ourself, A Man With A Dream Won't Die Hungry!" "Tell Ourself, Since I've Tasted All The Failures, What Have I Got To Lose, NOTHING ELSE But Success!" STAND STILL AND START MAKING THINGS HAPPEN! THINGS WILL THEN HAPPEN! Eric |

Personally to make money I would take everything that's been written here in this thread,do lots more research, put it into my own words and create an ebook with a great title and sell it. There is obviously a demand for it,you should always create a product that solves a really desperate need / problem that is in desperate need of being solved... |

I just don't understand it, why would someone not get a regular job to get on their feet again, before delving into the internet riches pipe dream? Unemployment is a big problem, but if I wanted a job in the next few days, I bet I could find one. That doesn't mean it would be the CEO of a business, possibly a menial job...but a job and an income at least. There is a class of people that believe they are "too good" for jobs like cleaners, waiters, supermarket workers etc...the fact is it is much better to work than live off the state. Just my opinion! |

Look for your passion first. Then think about whether you can make it big using internet. Sometimes, going offline with what you like might be easier and more fulfilling.

Find a CPA offer that pays good for email opt-ins that college students would be motivated to fill out. Something like "Get a chance to win a $500 Walmart gift card" or something similar. A fast one that seems to except new affiliates quickly is maxbounty. Then create an ad on half a piece of paper so you can make tons of copies and get 2 ads per sheet. If you can afford it use yellow paper. Have the title of the page kinda crooked or corner to corner at the top to catch the eye. Have it say "To the students of (what ever college in your area here)" Sign up for a chance to win a free $500 gift card to our local Walmart or whatever but use our' in the description. Then say, hurry gift cards are limited and time is sensitive. Visit www dot whatever dot com today!! Unless you can get someone to put them on desks in a lecture hall or something. What I have done is wait to the busiest time of the day and place them under the windshield wipers of cars or in screen doors of a heavily populated college area. Tip; use a url shortner like bit.ly to redirect the url to your CPA offer to protect you from any soliciting or littering issues. They will read this 100% of the time and you will have lots of students jump on there phone or ipad immediately to opt in. They are desperate for extra cash at this time in life and will try to win. I have tried this and it can work like gangbusters. Another hint; Don't over do it, cause results will greatly decrease if you do. Only do this once a month or so to keep getting results and announce some bogus winner of the last months contests on everyone of your flyers as well. ;-) College students have friends and these kinds of things go viral. They also live with many folks at a time. Think about this once. 1000 opt-ins or leads (which is feasible with about a 700 ads) If you were being paid 5 bucks a lead would be $5000 bucks! I wouldn't promote anything under $5 dollars a lead. And keep it simple. You only want one page opt ins or your conversions will drop drastically. Hit thanks! I got more of em. |

Sell unused stuffs. We all have this unnecessary things at home and they can surely be of use to somebody else. If you are desperate for money then sell them. Craigslist and Ebay are totally perfect sites you can use to advertise. If you have the skills then sell services however it may take some time if you are new to the people's eyes so I suggest offer review copies to start off. There is a big demand for writing services, even tedious bookmarking and submission has it's own demand as well. You can also try your luck in Fiverr but better promote a unique skill to stand out as the place is already filled with hundreds of services. Good luck! Ryuchi |

If I were desperate I would gather 200-300 bucks and pick a sub niche of IM and buy 10 WSOs on the subject and stick to them 16 hours a day for at least 6 months. Then I'm sure I'll be seeing results, no joke, I'm convinced.

1. Try to cut out as many unnecessary expenses as possible. (No more 5 dollar lattes at Starbucks for now...) 2. Try to get a regular JOB temporarily. Dishwashers are almost always needed in most restaurants. Or try to pick up odd jobs around town such as raking leaves, shoveling snow, painting fences or houses, etc. 3. When you have a reliable roof over your head, food to eat every day, a place to sleep every night, etc. then and only then start thinking about making money online. Write articles for money. Set up a gig on Fiverr to write 2 unique articles for 5 bucks. You should get some buyers without much trouble. Better yet, offer 3 unique articles for 5 bucks ! Then try to set up blogs with reviews for products that can be bought on Amazon (products that cost over $200 so you earn decent commissions). |

I have been a successful internet marketer since 2004. I have been a member of this forum for 2 years and watched the posts...but never posted until today. I lost everything in a bankruptcy from a failed surf shop when I was in my early 20s. One thing to remember....it is NOT the end of the world. I look at my life today, beautiful family, passive income, driving my dream car, etc. I couldn't have even imagined this in the middle of my bankruptcy. The one CRITICAL thing that I changed was my mindset. Start TODAY by surrounding yourself with positive influences. This forum is a good place to start. There are TONS of highly successful people here to influence you. Second....turn OFF your television. I think TV is one of the main things holding people back. Turn off the TV and start focusing on learning money making techniques. I get people all the time asking me how to make money. I will teach them a few things and then when I talk to them, they say they havent had time. However, I will see them posting on Facebook about all the TV shows they are watching. Third, read through the WSO section here. LOTS of great money making techniques. Read through the reviews. Pick one that has experienced marketers praising it. These marketers have seen the good the bad and the ugly. If they are singing the praises of a particular program, you can be more comfortable in your purchase. Fourth...set short term, mid term, and long term goals. I always shoot for the stars. My dad is preacher (Larry Millender) and one of my favourite quotes from him is this: "I would rather shoot for 100% and get half of it than shoot for nothing and get all of it". That is my 2 cents worth. |

I been in this situation long ago when I was 13, my dad died and that what my mum was earning was hardly enough... We was in trouble. Then someone told me I can earn money and fast. She introduced me to MLM. Next day I had equivalent of $100 in my pocket, good money for that time. With in 2 month I paid off all the bills and every thing else we had to pay. If you ask me, then it is MLM. This is the best way to earn good money fast. And the best thing about it that your income will grow constantly. Once you feel the first taste of success you will love it and will be there for ever. I have 18 years experience and I will never swap MLM for any thing else. I know people who got 5 figure income within 2-3 month of joining. And the best about it, that you earn by helping people. |
Happy to share 18 years experience in MLM/IM. Not doing any other work for over 7 years now. If you're desperate you should try applying for government aid. While doing that, get a job, and continue to work on your online business. Doing anything while you are desperate is dangerous.

Wow, there is so much good advice in this thread and I agree with it all. All I can say is try as hard as you can to stay positive do whatever you can, keep your head up and keep moving forward even if its baby steps. 14 yrs ago I lost everything, house, cars, anything that was worth anything. It was tough moving on but I did....baby steps at first. I painted houses with my neighbor for 3 yrs. and grew and healed.(up to that time I hated to paint) No matter how hard it seems, dig deep and you will pull through. David |

Hello everyone, Great idea by Paul to start this thread back in 2008 (I think?) - to think it has become even more relevant as the economy has struggled to get going again. I think you have to evaluate your situation to see if you can spend ANY time online. For people who are very desperate and need cash right at this instant, offline work may be better, whether that's full-time work, part-time work, helping out a neighbor with babysitting, snow removal, grass cutting, yard maintenance, etc. Additionally, checking out what items you have that you don't NEED (not the same as WANT) anymore and selling those at a consignment store, thrift store, on eBay, etc. You need to be able to either have enough money coming in and/or stored to be able to spend time online continuing to make money. Once you do have enough money coming in/saved up, then you can begin working online. You can start off with services you're good at: - Copyediting (proofreading & editing) - Article Writing - Blog Posting - Submitting Bookmarks, Links, RSS feeds, etc. (either manually or with software, etc.) - Press Release Writing - Copywriting - Social Media Managing (probably not as easy to get this type of job, especially with larger companies, but a smaller, local company might, especially if they're just getting into social media) Once you have a little bit of online income coming in, then you can focus on creating more long-term assets and building more passive income streams. This includes: - Building lists in specific niches (so that you can provide quality content and be able to offer products/services to them later that satisfy what they want, as well as joint ventures with other marketers, etc.) - Writing Kindle books that you can market on Amazon - Doing the same on Apple's iBookstore and B&N's NookPress - Creating a blog that you will write to regularly (every day, preferably) with quality content - Monetizing that blog with AdSense, advertising, joint venture with other bloggers, etc. Learn to outsource tasks when you have enough money to do so. Make sure to train them well in what you want them to do - they're supposed to be working effectively for you (and potentially or directly making you money) so that you can work on other parts of your business that only YOU can do, thus making you more money and making your future even brighter. Certainly, this isn't an exhaustive list, but will hopefully add to this informative thread and get those who need help off to a good start. Of course, coming back to the Warrior Forum to read, learn, and participate will help too! :-) Good luck! Take care, Joe Chengery |

I wrote this whole thing about web writing, and then said heck I'll post it instead. Truth is there's only one way I have found that works with any reliability in the short term, outside of getting a local job: Web content writing. Desperate means now, not next season. Am I right? Borrow Sell Pawn Donate Plasma Tutor Return gifts Content Write Transcription Virtual Assistant Data Entry Commission Sales Inherit Bet Scrap Tip Job By the way, can I just go on record here and say that people who say "Get a job" are not half as responsible as they claim to be? What is so noble about caging your household to wage work? To existing at the behest of an employer's whim? To ignoring the opportunity costs of not starting your own enterprise? And then to act like your some noble person because your life is so basic? May I say that is sometimes the irresponsible choice? The selfish choice? Putting your pride ahead of doing everything humanly possible for your family's chances of improvement? </vent> |

You can't go wrong by providing needed resources as a freelancer. Fiverr, Elance, Textbroker, and even the Warrior Forum (Warriors For Hire section) offer plenty of opportunities to generate quick income. Much Success, JoeMack

Hi everyone: We all know that most people are in hard times; myself as well. First of all let me say that you have to weigh whether you want to explore internet business or find something else. There are literally thousands and thousands of online internet businesses. One thing you have to remember is that you can spend thousands of dollars trying to join this or that. Believe me, it has happened to a lot of people including myself. Over time, you sit down and take a good look of how much money it has cost you and how many businesses you joined where most are just plain garbage. You have to do your homework by surfing the internet and find which one's are scams and which are very good. By the way this is my first post here as I just joined The Warrior Forum. When I try to ask a question about an internet business, many people here are going reply as long it is a valid question. I have done so myself and I got very good advice. I hope this helps and good luck. Mel or zzmel I am working on a quote |

Although I may repeat some things, they're worth repeating. You have two ways to improve your situation. 1. Reduce your expenditure. 2. Increase your income. In the 1. category, look into every possible avenue for free resources such as groceries and other necessities. Use sites such as freecycle, Gumtree and Craigslist and see what freebies are on offer. You would be amazed at what you can get for free. If you need something, run your own ad asking if someone has what you need. Use the organisations such as the Salvos, etc to get freebies such as meals and coupons for groceries. See if they have clothing that would be useful for you too. Ask them what else they can do for you. You would be surprised at the extra services they offer that you probably don't know about. In the number 2 category, start by listing every single skill you have...regardless of how simple it is. Can you mow lawns? Can you clean houses? Can you write? build websites? The list should be a long one. Then start working out ways to make money. Run ads in Craigslist, Gumtree and any other classified ad site that applies to your area. Find people needing the services you can offer. I can virtually guarantee you'll find some work that way. Post on your Facebook page that you need work in whatever areas you have skills in and ask people to refer you to their friends. The bottom line is that you can feel sorry for yourself or you can channel that stress, anger, frustration and fear into a stronger energy that will empower you to do everything on this list and more. Good luck! |

I'm sitting in front of the computer, taking advantage of the holiday in order to play with some whiteboard projects that I never seem to find time to look at during a regular week. It's a beautiful day today where I live, and every few minutes a guy pushing a lawnmower passes my window. About thirty minutes ago he rolled up in his truck, lawnmower in the back. He's from the neighborhood, and he's out making extra money today. He offered to cut the front lawn for $20, and upsold to $45 for the entire lawn. He's already done a handful down our street today. He also made sure to give us a business card and let us know everything else he can do. Sure, I can cut my own grass. But I hate cutting grass, and I really enjoy helping someone make some money when I can. Guys like this take me back many years, to a time when I did the same thing. I was out of work, kids to feed, no computer or internet to work with. Desperate. So lawnmower, ladder, cleaning supplies and trash bags in the truck bed, a stack of flyers in the front seat . . . I would ride around town looking for homes and businesses that needed lawns cut, leaves raked, windows washed, stuff hauled and gutters cleaned. People gladly pay for jobs they don't like doing. Many times you can get those jobs just by showing up and asking. Do a great job, upsell, ask for referrals, leave a card or flyer. The lawn guy is packing up his mower now. He's going to make at least a few hundred dollars today. He's also building future business. He's a go-getter. Reminded me of this thread, so I thought I'd share. I'm sure someone probably needed to read it today. |

Learn wordpress. There are always people looking for wordpress help on craigslist and other outsourcing sites like odesk. Most of the time they just want you to set up a theme. If you build a few sites to learn then you will have a portfolio, and you can also just use a few sites you like as examples of what you can do. Make sure you word it so it's not your own but something you can make and develop. Once you start to get more experience you can easily make a few hundred to a thousand dollars.

the quickest way to make money right away is to provide a service. i have extensive experience in adult marketing and if you establish yourself as an expert you will have steady opportunities to earn money. look at the wanted to buy/hire section .. from there you can get a quick idea of what type of services people want and see where your skills can be best utilized. one tip in the service industry is to package your services.. it will be easier to sell that way.. time is money and many that use services of others do it to work smart and save time.. create different packages. price them so they are competitive. |

Buy products and then resell them on eBay. One of my friends used to build computers out of parts he found at a garbage dump. He made quite a bit of money. |

If you ar having a tough time starting a business online you should think of what you are good at and what you are interested in. One decision can make or break your business. If you are going for something big and you are not capable of it then there is no use. If you are starting something small but you are very familiar of it then obviously you can make it.

This was confirmed for me by a friend who works at an auto parts junkyard. The junkyard needed a $12.00/hour employee to drive auto parts to shops all day. They received hundreds of responses to their ad, including responses from educated professionals who had once earned $50K, $75K/year or more. The junkyard didn't even bother calling those applicants back, their logic being that someone like that is likely to (1) not being used to doing that sort of work, (2) be bitter and resentful about their situation, and (3) quit suddenly, the moment they find a job paying $0.10/hour more. The shop ended up interviewing and hiring a guy who had always done general labor, who was happy to make $12.00/hour because he'd never earned considerably more than that. If you are educated and have any sort of skills, you are better off making your own "job." That's what I've been doing for years...and I've had far more success with gigs than I've had with "jobs." I really enjoyed and completely agreed with the post early on in the thread about how, instead of working for 40 hours at $9-$10/hour, it is better to spend those 40 hours prospecting for customers for a service. You will likely make just as much, or more, on your own from that 40 hours of prospecting.

I'm desperate in the sense that if I don't get something going in the next 3-6 months, I'm SOL. I've got some time, not a lot but some, and more than many people. I have friends who are not as fortunate as me; their time is up. I posted a link to this thread on Facebook, and I hope they click on it and read through all of the suggestions. |

Get a dream. Get a burning desire for its success. It has to be something so cool that it does not matter how long it takes to manifest. The universe will conspire to make it happen for you at the perfect time for you to enjoy it the most.

I have recently started canvassing local businesses to improve their websites/get a website. In fact, I have a total of 11 clients now. If you know WordPress, you can do this very easily and quickly, and there are plenty of themes that you can buy that can be adapted easily to fit the clients needs. Charge them a monthly maintence fee, and you have a recurring income. Then upsell - create Twitter, FaceBook Fan Pages, YouTube accounts for them, outsource the customisation to Fiverr. You do need hosting though. Whiteboard video's on Fiverr is another good one, a quick 30 second basic whiteboard video that you can create yourself - does really well. Fantastic thread this is, one day i will go through all 17 pages :-) |
