Services/Products you can sell over the phone?

Hey guys!

Alright so I'm about 6 years into selling appointments over the phone making 80+ outbound calls per day, and I like to think of my self as being fairly skilled at what I do, so I'm looking for something a little extra I could do on my off days that can get me some more coins.

Any of you guys sell your own services/products strictly over the phone? What do you guys do?

You could always sell extended auto warranties. Seems like a lot of people call me for that.

get yourself into high ticket affiliate marketing for example.
Most of the time they sell their products of $2000 or more through a webinar.

When you get the ability to promote something like that as an affiliate and can do it via phone you can have an advantage to those who can only promote a link online.

  • Thanks for taking my call today.

My name is Briony, and I'm here to offer you a great deal on your phone.

A deal that's likely much better than the one you have right now.

Whatever you've heard about the way today's latest new technology offers you significant advantages in the future in exchange for rotting your brains thanks to the subtle sway of the masts deployed to bring you this miracle service, I'm here to make today pleasant and rewarding for you, now, and into the future.

Think of it like selling your soul to Satan -- but with none of the guilt, and even less of the personal disadvantage.

    It's a simple, practical swap.

Your OLD phone for our NEW one.

It's so easy to make this happen, we'll send our people out direct to you!

Just 2 days from now, you could be receiving sales calls just like this one on a phone 10x better than your current model.

Think what this would mean for family and friends ... potential clients ... zoom crushes ... as you converse with the confidence that only the latest phone tech delivers.

"It's like he was here beside me, fixing the tire on my bummed out Jeep." Helen from Detroit.

"My last phone left me feeling like a moron. But this new model sets me free to become a perfectly functioning iconoclast." Adam from Munich.

"It's a neat shape. Real neat curves I appreciate when I set the vibrate alarm to 2075." Trudy from Hipass Beach.

Our satisfied customers don't exude their gratitude this way simply because we pay them a premium to speak positively about our products!

They have seen how our phones make a difference.

So how can you be sure you're getting the best deal?

For the best level of service? The best features? The best price?

    *Uhm*

    *Yeah*

*Uhm, so it is Briony here from Positive Futures Comms? And I am here to offer you the best deal on your phone?*

    asshole.

      Princess,

Okay... I get your point. You can't bore people into buying. Very true.

However, your playfully over-the-top script fails to do the most important thing of all...

It does not explain WHY the new phone is "10x better." That is, it does not show them an advantage. And that -- in large part -- is what people buy.

      John

P.S. I would probably also leave any mention of Satan out of your sales pitch. Just sayin'...

Ideal phone sales jobs combine a very qualified list, with a profitable offer.

There are plenty of Gurus out there that sell memberships and coaching programs, as well as tickets to high end events.

And their prospects are all either current customers, or interested people who enquired.

No idea who to contact for these opportunities, but a Google search for coaching sales should be profitable.

As an aside, selling memberships to the Better Business Bureau or the Chamber Of Commerce to local businesses would probably be profitable.

Yes, absolutely true. However, they should also have a PROVEN sales script. Over time, they should be testing scripts and refining their pitch. (But -- shockingly -- they don't.)

The fact is, with a good list, a good script, and a good offer... you're going to make money.

      Funny story...

I get quite a few sales calls from telemarketers. The thing is -- as a pro copywriter -- I'm always amazed at how bad some of those sales scripts are. So, for fun, sometimes I stop them cold and explain why their pitch sucks. Then, I explain what they SHOULD have said... and hang up. (When I stop them, they always seemed stunned!) lol

Claude, you're a "brick & mortar" small business owner. I know the BBB gives businesses a rating, But, aside from that, do you (and other small business owners) find value in belonging to organizations such as the BBB or the local Chamber? If yes, how so?

Yup - It's a license to print as much money as you want whenever you want it.

Why are you amazed? Scripts, be it sales letters, street signs, or spoken ones, are one of the hardest things in business to execute properly.

Long-term consistency is easy if everyone sticks to the script, but they don't, because sticking to the script for six hours a day is against human nature, only a small percentage of people can do it and that's usually after a ton of practice

Also. Just so you know, some scripts are riddled with mistakes on purpose, educated and smart people hear them and hang up, the rest stay on the line, it's a filter lots of scammers use over different mediums, such as email.

Some people will pay big money for someone like you to make their phones consistently blow up. You can prob get better money for what you are doing right now, without having to work any differently. Remember i's not what you know, it's who you know, and if you don't know anyone, then you need to market and get yourself known.

One last thing, it has been my experience that you can sell anything over the phone

          That's very interesting.

The thing is, it's unfortunate there are so many scammers in the telemarketing industry. Because those same people could have -- just as easily -- picked a legit product or service and sold that, instead.
