Create a new Youtube channel to make videos in another language or stay the same?

I wanna begin record videos in other language to my Youtube Channel... Should I create a new Channel or be continue the same Youtube Channel for take advantage of what is already monetized with the amount of hours watched and a good amount of engagement?

I plan to start recording videos in another language because besides being good to practice my Spanish, I know that sponsors ADS pay more for the Spanish videos content language than for Portuguese.

The niche / theme of the channel will remain the same, only the language of the videos I'm going to change.

What is best alternative and why?

Since the niche is the same why not seperate your existing channel into two sections? One for english one for spanish. I don't see any advantages of starting an entirely new channel.

You can promote your new channel in your ongoing channel, to increase your subscriber base.

Go for the long-term play. Which is to create 2 channels.

The cool thing about YouTube is that you can have multiple channels with different user names.

I would go with a new channel specific to your language.

    Definitely a separate channel.

There will be virtually no crossover in viewership. People will find their preferred language and only watch the videos that cater to it.

What'll actually end up happening if you post all of the videos on the same channel is your engagement metrics will tank, YouTube will see that even your own subscribers are not watching your new video and it will hurt the amount of people it's exposed to in search and suggested videos, which are often some of the biggest drivers of views.

So you have a successful channel now... You want to add I am guessing Spanish. I would start the second channel, something like "<insert existing channel name> Spanish" or the like. Start duplicating your videos... one English, One Spanish.

I would then put teaser videos on your existing channel... The same video 2x one in the primary language, and then the Spanish version, changing up the Spanish version advertising you now have a channel dedicated to Spanish. Make sense?

IF you are currently doing voice over style videos you should be able to go back and voice over your existing content to give your new channel a boost in content off the get go.

So what you will end up having to do is create each video 2 times. Obviously a voice over type video format is going to make this process a ton easier.

I personally do not do a lot of youtube with my projects, BUT in many many many cases we have started in the last few years to extend our content creation into 2 languages English/Spanish for our websites. Even with something like Adsense ( we dont use much of ) it pays more as well.

In the States give or take 40% of the market is natively Spanish speaking. Its a HUGE market that is very much untapped.

Hope that Helps! and seriously best of luck!

I sometimes having a really long dilemma because of this, but i think that we can upload 2 videos at once with one of them is english language and the other one is your local language. i mean, i think its too much of a hassle to start entirely from scratch

The Spanish market on youtube is probably the most lucrative, of all languages. If you have the ability to provide content in Spanish you WANT to be doing that. Captions help an English channel to a degree, but not in the way a separate language channel would. An English channel with subtitles, vs An English and Spanish channel, in the long run you are might get a 10 to 20 % jump with the English and subtitles, vs the 200% gain with split channels. Again if you have the ability to do this, its a no brainer.

Google rewards the number of subscribers and hours watch on a channel. Keep the same channel and place the language used in the title, and the tags.

Also place a link to the other language video in the description. Googles algorithm notes when someone clicks off one video but stays on your channel.

  • Since you want to monetize both, I recommend creating a separate channel. Improved targeting would make it more attractive to advertisers.

The best thing is to create a new channel and promote it on the current channel as well.

New languages always may give additional subscribes, but it shouldn't harm to the main channel.
