Do domain names have monetary value in themselves

Hi,

Just bought a couple of domain names ( not listed )that a well respected appraisal service valued in excess of $7000 each.

Are any of these appraisal services remotely valid?

    Most appraisal services that are auto-generated generate values which are worthless.

    General idea is that any domain which is 2-3 words, makes sense and is a .COM / .NET / .ORG is worth buying as it can be resold for more. Of course there are exceptions either way, but this is the general formula I use to find domains worth more than $30.

    The best way to get appraisals is to have a few people on instant messenger that you can trust to give you decent information about whether it would be worth buying ChickenWingsNow.com (or anything else) or not.
