I have had domains for twenty years and this has never
been an issue.

Typically, you lock the domains in your account and they
cannot be transferred without your involvement.

You might, however, encounter an unscrupulous buyer
but that can happen with anything.

I would suggest that you overcome your fears, as they
are unwarranted, and proceed with your business plans.

More importantly, BEWARE of those who contact you - "claiming" to be a broker for someone interested in buying multiple domains at once... I almost learned this lesson the hard way and someone here 'informed' me that 99% of those buyers are "SCAMMERS" trying to insist you have a 'domain valuation" (*real-world value assessment of sorts) done before THEIR buyer will submit payment to you for the transfer of your domain URL's.

It basically gets you to pay THEM to have your domains appraised (evaluated and assessed) - and, 99% of the time, there is no real buyer!

Just a heads up, as I had over 350+ domain names when I first entered the online arena. Never did sell many, and eventually let most of them go as renewal fees tend to go up every year.

Not trying to be negative about domain flipping, but it sounds really easy... until you get stuck owning and renewing 300+ domain next year.

Anyone can buy any type of domain name that is available.

They can just go to a domain name company and test different variations to any name out there.

If you like a domain name, own it, and you don't want anyone to steal it, make sure you re-register it when the registration period comes up.

We've registered many hundreds, perhaps even thousands of domains over the years and never had one "stolen". I've never heard of such a thing.

That said, I suppose anything is possible if you have weak passwords or are susceptible to phishing scams.

I've got to agree with "Monetize" here. You can find every excuse in the world not to take action. "Paralysis by over-analysis" is what we used to call it.
