Since Amazon no longer allows simple tag replacements (?tag=oldID-20 ' ?tag=newID-20), what's the best way to update all links efficiently?
  • If a site has 1,000+ Amazon affiliate links, how do buyers bulk-update them without manually replacing each one?
  • Are there tools or automation strategies to generate new links based on ASINs?
  • How do experienced site flippers handle this process when acquiring Amazon affiliate websites?
  • Besides ThirstyAffiliates, are there other WordPress plugins or tools that make updating Amazon links easier?
  • Looking for insights from those who have done this before--any best practices, plugins, or time-saving methods?"

Thank you in Advance

Why do people with problems include stipulations and criteria in their help requests?

Obviously, if you need to change that many links and/or pages, it will take some time.

Try TextCrawler, something similar, or hire someone to do the work.

Or just use ThirstyAffiliates, why do you need an alternative.

Otherwise, spend the time to get it done, the site probably needs updating anyway.

DISCLOSURE: I never bought an Amazon WP that required changing 1,000+ links.

After purchasing a website, the simplest way to update Amazon affiliate links is to use a plugin like Pretty Links or ThirstyAffiliates, which enables you to quickly replace the outdated links on the website with your new affiliate ID.

Using a bulk find-and-replace method is the fastest wat to update Amazon affiliated links. WordPress plugins like Better Search Replace or ThirstyAffiliates, SQL queries in phpMyAdmin, or link management tools like Geniuslink can automate updates. If redirects were used, updating them is the quickest fix. Prioritize high-traffic pages for manual edits if needed.

Great tips! I've been using Better Search Replace and it definitely saves a ton of time when updating a lot of links. Geniuslink sounds interesting for link management -- I'll have to check that out

I have encountered this problem after acquiring several sites. The most effective method I have found is to use the AAWP (Amazon Affiliate WordPress Plugin). It allows you to store all your Amazon links in a central location and update your affiliate ID in one step.
Alternatively, you can use a PHP or Python script to automatically scan your content and update your links. This works well if you have basic programming skills or access to a developer.
For sites with thousands of links, I would recommend a combination of automated database updates (SQL queries to search and replace WordPress posts) and then manually checking the most important pages.
Besides ThirstyAffiliates, check out EasyAzon and Amazon Link Engine, which also handle bulk link updates well and offer additional functionality.

Oh, this is really a puzzle when there are so many links and so little time! I'd recommend checking out plugins like ThirstyAffiliates or EasyAzon--they can definitely help with bulk updating links, and you won't have to change each one manually. There are also a few automation tools, like AffiliateWP, but they require some setup.
If you want to fully automate the process, try Amazon's API for generating new links using ASINs--it's a bit more complex, but very convenient in the long run!
As for site flipping, most flippers use ready-made plugins or work with databases to replace all the tags at once. Not ideal, but effective!

The easiest way to swap Amazon affiliate links after buying a site is by using a plugin like Pretty Links or Lasso so you can update your tag in one place without going link by link. You can also use tools like Geniuslink to find all the ASINs and rebuild the links using your own ID, saves loads of time.

Besides Pretty Links, ThirstyAffiliates wordpress has a plugin to replace any text in the whole database, known as Better Search Replace. It is commonly used to replace URLs after migration to a new domain but you can use it to update affiliate links as well.

The fastest way to update Amazon affiliate links after buying a website is by using a plugin or bulk link management tool. If the site runs on WordPress, plugins like Thirsty Affiliates or AAWP allow quick replacement of old tracking IDs with your own. You can also use a search-and-replace plugin to update affiliate IDs in bulk across all content. Make sure to check for hardcoded links in posts and pages. Updating your Amazon Associates account with the new website is also important.
