Working hard but no results

So i have found very good niche, not too competitive but with a lot of searches every month. There is only one opponent for me, and he don't have backlinks (but his domain is pretty old), he has pr1 and it should be pretty easy to get in first page in google, as there is only one competitor. So i created website a little more than a month ago, and i have been making backlinks. But nothing happens. I'm about at 270rank in google for the main keyword, although i get good rankings for product keywords but still - i get very few sales. I'm still beginner in IM but i don't get it why i can't rank higher, if there is almost no competition at all? I have tried different backlink building strategies or methods, sticked with few but nothing works. I don't know what to do

Hey! I just want to say GREAT JOB!!!! If you are new to IM and you are already making a "few" sales that is where you need to start. Without looking at your competition stats there could be a number of reasons for your ranking that I cant answer without seeing.

One month or two is great for being new and already making sales so you are doing something right. How many articles have you written? Or better yet, what is your marketing method?

    Your doing great!

Lett - You low ranking on Google could be because a number of reasons. Could you answer these questions for me?

    1. Did you buy an aged domain, or brand new?
    2. Are you using wordpress on your site?
    3. Do you know basic SEO and how to properly optimize your site?
    4. Are the links you are building good solid backlinks from reputable sites i.e. ezinearticles, squidoo or hubpages?

      2 Things come to mind:

      1. Maybe 1 month isn't long enough to see results.

      2. If the domain is new, how aggressively have you been backlinking? Perhaps Google gave you a time out?

Do you have an optin form on your website? If not you should consider getting one and start building a list. I have found that the first sale is not that important, its the lifetime of the customer that is the best! Start building a list, give away a ton of bonus products, and then in a few emails you can hit them with a great product(s) and you will then see the money you might need and want!

While waiting for organic search position, consider buying traffic with Adwords. You have one competitor, so this should not cost much.

I think you have done very well for someone who just started.
But 2 months is long enough.

You need to do a bit more aggressive link building.
Concentrate on obtaining links from a variety of top authority sites like social sites and other content hubs to maximize your link spread. If you don't know what I'm talking about check out my total dominator method.

But seriously though...not bad for a start mate!!

    1. I bought brand new domain.
    2. No, i made site with xsitepro.
    3. I'm still newbie so i still learn everything i can. Maybe i have misunderstood something?
    4. I think i can answer this with "yes".

    Thank you
    Have you tried emailing larry.page@google.com?
I could try, but i think that i am doing something wrong.

    Thank you

    1. Maybe

    2. I doubt it. If i still can see me in ranking then i shouldn't be sandboxed or banned by google.

No i don't have that, but i am thinking about doing that all the time. Thank you, i will do it in next few days.

Don't believe that your competitor has no links. If it's an aged domain, it has some links pointing to it. Count on it. You don't get the whole picture of links from any of the sources out there. They all give just a partial picture.

You need links. Use the keyword you want to rank for as anchor text in your links. Make getting them a regular part of your daily routine. It builds up. If it's truly a very low competition keyword, you'll see results pretty quickly.

go to google's keyword tool and type in your main keyword. now, google will give you a list of relevant keywords. use the top ten relevant keywords and do some on page SEO with those keywords obviously including your main keyword, anyone can correct me if i'm wrong but look for 2-4% keyword density for your main keyword, then about 1-2% for the related keywords, suggested by google...

if you have other keywords, do the same for other pages on your site. you could consider taking any articles you have written and posting two or three a day up as like a latest news blog, this will show google that you are updating regularly.

just reading more about your site, I'm sure most will agree with me highly recommending building a WordPress blog. It's free and when you link back to your site, you're giving good quality backlinks with relevant content!

Actually it does make money, ranking good with bad keywords made me sales already, when i will be in top for the general keyword i should make some nice cash.

What do you mean you only have one competitor?

If you aren't ranking, then you must have some competitors. Otherwise there would be no one to be ahead of you.

Do you mean you only have one competitor that you believe has a chance to outrank you?

You can buy traffic, if your niche doesn't have many competitors, the keywords should not be expensive.

You can use yahoo search marketing as well, and get a coupon so you can get something like $75 in advertising free. Coupon sites online should have this.

Are you capturing leads so you can followup with them?

        Are you giving special deals?

Have you studied how to write copy?

Is your niche for browsers or buyers?

You need a formula or checklist you can apply in a step by step fashion.

You also mention your page is not ranking, but you do not say for what keyword search. Has your page been optimized correctly for specific keywords?

These are a bunch of things that you need to have working for you to ramp up sales.

yo Lett, be patient. We all make mistakes.

I just launched my website a few months ago too. I havent made any sales yet but I'm delighted to say that I have street cred and a good rep, based on what ppl have commented on my blog.

You've made a few sales. That's good. I haven't got none. Do not despise humble beginnings.

You are on the right track, one month in and you have not that well, thats great to hear

Keep going, if your only source is google, then give it a little time.

    I would suggest
    1. Keep putting quality links to your website
    2. If you want faster results, look for other traffic methods then google

Well,I think you have already done a good job. Please be more patient to wait for your orders.Sometimes,it needs time for you to see the effect of the ads.By the way, have you paid enough attention to the product or service or the website itself? All of these are also very important.Traffic is not everything.Vistors do not mean orders, either. So come on.

    Lett,

Never compare your website with your competitor's site. Its a pretty old domain and it would have taken more time to drive traffic as well.
Your website is hardly 2 months old. So why you rush up? Wait patiently mate.
Rome is not built in a single day!!!
So hold up your nerves. If you do backlinks and other SEO stuffs to your website, wait patiently for 3 months to see the results. And if you still find that your hardwork didn't pay any results, then start woryying over the issue.

As of now you are doing pretty good.

Also, check out whether you are optimizing your keywords in the right way.

There may be possibilities of few other issues in on-page monetizing of your website which could not be dealt by any other fellow warriors without checking out your site.

If your sales is low, check out whether your ADD TO CART page where the customer enters their card details is SSL secured so that it is safe for them to enter their card number and other stuffs.

PM with your site details if you have more queries.

    Good luck!!!

    Regards.
    Paul
