Web Based Site Creation tools are they a waste of time?

I would like to know if there is any evidence if these automated web creation tools could be be given less importance as far as the major search engines are concerned.

Could Google/Bing/Yahoo for example give less attention to these automated
sites as compared to a unique hand built web site or blog like Wordpress or Dreamweaver?
