Warning! Newbie Question...Warning!

I've got ClickBank and I've got Aweber.

When someone purchases my product who's not on my list...(say from an affiliate) how do I ad them?

Currently Aweber requires they click an opt-in link AFTER the purchase in order to be added to any list. I'm afraid I'll lose too many proven buyers that way.

And frankly, I don't even know how I would write that email..."Uh, thanks for buying my product. I want to sell you more stuff down the road, but I need you to click this link first"...There's got to be a better way.

Any suggestion?

You could put an opt in form on the download/thank you page, and entice them with more bonuses or when you update the product. I never force someone to opt-in to my lists before they download the thing they just bought.

I could try that but I'm afraid I'll still lose too many proven buyers that way.

C'mon Warriors, I'm lobbing you a softball here, how do you overcome this this problem? Should I not be using Aweber or Clickbank?

Nickolie0990 has the best solution. Give them a tasty bonus in exchange for an email address. They will definitely opt in.

Bonuses can be used in so many effective ways. Getting folks to opt in is certainly one of them that I would definitely try.

I think that is what you are going to hear. You could set up your thank you page to tell them that they have to complete th opt in. but that looks more scammy and you will lose more people that way. Give them the download and offer a great bonus that they have to complete the opt- in to receive.

Also, don't focus your message on the promotions, Running an effective newsletter series requires you to provide valuable content. Do not run it like most of the so called marketing "experts who fill your mailbox with crap.

Tell them about all the great information that you are going to share with them in your newsletters. Build a relationship with your readers, and only hard sell promote to them 1/10 emails. This will convert much better, and you will build trust with the people who read your emails.

One thing I recommend with your list is that you send them an email asking for feedback and questions. This involves the reader in the process. I will then take those questions to create blog posts, videos, and other emails for my list. If I find that it is something that could wait, I will add it later in the autoresponder. However, if it is something that they need quickly, I will either make a blog post, or send it out to my list as a broadcast.

if you have prior relationship, as you do in this case, you already have permission sending them newsletter..not sure what the problem is.. simply add that email to aWeber

when they buy something from you, they already give you the emailing permission.. you can add some wording in the order page to be polite..

      Lots of good replies. Thanks.

Digigo- I agree with you 100%, which is my exactly point. Aweber will not just let me add someone even if they've purchased my product. They still need to opt-in. So it makes things kinda awkward.

I've bought several products online. I've never been asked to opt-in on the download page. And I've always recieved post sale emails.

So it makes me wonder if I'm missing something totally obvious here.
