Easiest Way To Build a List In The IM Niche....

Want to know the easiest way to build a list in the IM niche?

Set up an article directory and contact every product owner that has an automatic article submitter to include your directory in their program.

Before you know it, you will have a list of thousands of Internet Marketers in your database - If you word your TOS right, you can then email them as much as you want about anything you want.

I've not done this myself yet, but have noticed a pattern when I check our different emails. After our latest rounds of mass submissions, I am now on about 57 lists of people I've never heard of

    I like the idea.

However, I have gone through several article marketing courses and I recall ALL instructors urging people to use a fake email address while submitting to directories...

So, I'd doubt the quality of the leads in that database...

What I said in the original post was a "starting point"

If you go into it knowing that it is a "numbers game" and think for a couple of minutes, using some creativity, there are probably 5 different ways that you could use the good ones...

I think that it is definitely a numbers game. Whilst you may have a lot of 'crap' email addresses, you will get many genuine ones.

And, if you position yourself as the guy who offers a lot of tips and tricks and makes their newsletter useful as opposed to just selling things, you will find your reputation grows and that people will become more likely to use their real email address.

The thing is, with an automatic article submitter, it is very likely that the application uses just one email address on all directories. Or, even if it is a semi-automatic process (like it wals you through submit pages of each), people will use RoboForm and the likes and will still fill them with the same email address.

That was my point for this specific case (you are thrown with a big bunch of other sites, your individual service or reputation won't likely matter).

You are right, this is something that may mean that you are not getting through to a lot of people. At the same time, not everybody will be using article submitters.

And, as mentioned above, you also have the opportunity to make money through adsense etc.

Yeah, there will definitely be a need to weeding out the bad leads. I couldn't dispute you that good ones can be put to good use.

It isn't "the easiest way to build a list in the IM niche" anymore if the ratio of good to bad leads is -say- something like 1 to 10 though.

I still think it IS a good idea overall. It makes me think of other similar ways within the same context ("securing a place in an already established medium of transaction").

Sounds pretty good, not to mention the bonus Adsense, CPA/Affiliate links, and a paid membership option should you decide to go this route...

Clever variant on the TOS trick for the old FFA links pages.

"By posting your link, you agree to receive email from Joe Blow. And you will receive a lot of email from Joe Blow - as many mailings as he can sell."

      Jeremy, you're using your noodle...

LOL..coming from you, that was funny

as for the OP, yups that's a good way to start building a list..
And if indeed it turns out that majority of the emails in your
list are "throw away" ones, it's still way better than not doing
          anything

          All the best,

For all those that are running to set up an article directory in the next ten minutes...
Maybe you missed this "small" detail from the OP:
contact every product owner that has an automatic article submitter to include your directory in their program
Without that bit your directory will sit there completely useless

Was just gonna say the same. Do you think someone would include your directory as a part of theirs software or service for FREE? and moreover when we approach them by ourself and show interest in getting this done ASAP.
