Getting To Talk To Gurus Etc

So many people wonder about the possibility of talking to people they perceive to be gurus, they end up doing nothing, because they believe a guru won't want anything to do with people just starting out.

Now there has to be a balance, most people won't spend hours upon hours, day upon day helping you out for free. People have their own business to run.

But, let me tell you a secret, you know those people you call gurus ...

they are no different from all the rest of us. The have to get up in the morning, dress, eat, drink and then sleep at night. The difference is they have a business which works, and this is why you think they are hard to contact.

Nothing is further from the truth.

I remember logging into the WF one day, and seeing a request from a well known person. They had a problem, and there were lots of people making comments, but nobody helping.

I read the need and knew where to find the solution. I contacted them and asked how could I send them the information.

That was the start of us becoming friends. I have been interviewed by them, I have worked with them, and we finally met at the warrior event last year.

But, do you know what is sad. I posted in the thread that I had the solution, and I then got people PMing me to ask how much I sold the product to, because he was a guru and could afford a high rate.

If this is your attitude, forget it, because people know and can tell when you're only want to fleece them or want to namedrop.

Other people have said, you can't contact a guru like that, because they are a guru. Yes, maybe they are, but they need help as well.

If you want to talk to a guru discover how you can help them, and then do it.

    Bev,

    Good points.

The other way to get the guru's attention is to become their customer, provide some friendly, helpful feedback and show yourself to be an interesting individual in their eyes.

This has worked for me numerous times.

Bev, I can't agree with you more.

All it takes is a little initiative and the understanding that if you don't get a reply,
it's not something to take personal and give up on.

You will have your chance if you are patient.

Had I not submitted a help desk ticket 5 years ago "wondering" if I could
pick a certain someone's brain about how they are doing what they are
doing to make money online, I may not be in the position to even reply
    to this thread right now.

The rest is history, but it all started from me thinking the thought
"This person seems like they are doing something right and I want to know
what it is so I can start seeing some of the same results"

Thank you Bev for pointing this out to everyone. This FACT changed my life.

While I have no doubt in my mind I would be successful at whatever it was
I ended up doing, not understanding this fact and not taking a chance (a 3 minute
help desk submission - a one liner sentence, btw) would have almost certainly
guaranteed I wouldn't have found my true calling yet... or EVER!
