Old Farts on my Aweber List - HELP!

Do you keep your 'curiosity'-leads?
I mean ... do you keep subscribers that don't buy?
How long do you keep them as active subscribers?
And after how many messages would you consider to unsubscribe them?

    I keep them all. If they still want to hear from me there's still a chance they'll buy something. I had a customer call me after they ordered with a support question. After answering the question he told me he'd been a subscriber for years and this was the first time he'd bought anything.

    After going to all the work of getting a subscriber, it would be foolish to boot them in my opinion because they don't buy from you as fast as you'd like. It just takes some people longer to trust you.

    You simply may not have offered anything they're interested in yet too. When the right offer comes along some will buy.

    Besides all that, you never know, they may not have bought anything but may have told others about you. They also could have signed up using an alias and free email account, but used they real name and real email account when they bought something, so you'd never know a subscriber like that bought from you unless they told you.

    Lastly, the more subscribers you have the more you can charge for ad space.

    why would you consider unsubscribing them?
    It doesnt cost me anymore to have them on my list and just because they are not buying at moment doesnt mean they wont in the future?

      Well, it costs a bit more ... but that's not the point. You're right they could buy in the future (although I doubt that ... I offered them quite some nice deals) Thanks!

          That's a good and solid remark, but my reputation is worth more than a couple of sales. I have always refused ad swapping. Thank you for the suggestion though!

    I've never deleted anyone for not buying. Unless the size of your list is getting rather expensive for you to maintain, you might as well keep them. Some may one day buy from you. If you remove them, you've lost that possibility.

    Granted some may have subscribed using a throw away email address, but that's part of life on the Internet.

    On a separate note, I appreciate that having a lot of 'dead wood' on one's list could potentially be used by some (unethical) 'marketers' in underhanded ways, such as parading an inflated list to potential JV partners, when in reality, a large proportion are unresponsive. Those who do this however, will eventually be discovered and ostracized by the IM community.
