Data mining/extraction/scrapping
Hello,
I was just doing some data extraction for celebrity names (about 300,000) and was wondering if others are also doing any sort of this stuff to gather information for various purposes. For example in my current case I'm going to use these as keywords (the names).
If you're doing this - what kind of extraction methods do you use? What software? What kind of information do you extract and what for (no need to be specific)?
I'm using my own custom-made (for each different job) software so it's all pretty quick and robust and I'm really getting fascinated by the concept and the advantage it gives so I thought maybe I could help someone else with this.
