INTERNET MARKETING

Hey,

Have some software I want to put on my blog for people to download how can I do this without sending them to rapid share?

Can I just upload it to my host and allow people to download it directly from my website.

(My hosting web space is not an issue)

Yes, just upload the software to your host and place the link to it right on your site.

Hey Ricky,

Just zip it up, and then post it on your hosting account. Then you just provide the URL to the zipped file on your website.

You can even do this within wordpress.

Upload media. Wordpress will give you the URL, rather than messing with FTP.

Oh and don't forget to track how many downloads there have been...I remember a free plugin that you can download which tracks this!

Please make sure that the software you are offering is not copyrighted so that you can not share. This could lead to a great deal of trouble.

Slightly OT but thought it would be worth mentioning.

If you're not already doing this you might want to capture their email too.

Then you can have the subscription success or confirmation success page be directly to the download or a page with the download link.

Just upload the software via FTP on your host site.
Make sure you first create a new directory in your root, most likely in /www
create a new directory let's says /www/software
and then simply push the software file via ftp.

Let me know if you're having problems, I'll create a video tutorial for you.
