Got an e-mail about this today:

Giveaway of the Day - free licensed software daily. Total Screen Recorder Gold 1.5 - Total Screen Recorder could record computer desktop screen to video files so you could upload to Youtube.com, myspace, blog without format converted or edited.

Don't know it it's any good, but it might be worth checking out.

      From what I can see, CamStudio performs the same functions, and there is a free version of that, too. If my understanding is correct, CamStudio is an early version of Camtasia.

            Camtasia also gives you a free trial period so why not try both to see if you are happy enough with the features of Camstudio or if you feel you need the extras offered in Camtasia's package.
