Hello everyone,

I tried creating a blog, free resources, and a bunch more but I haven't sold anything on clickbank or paydotcom related to my product. What am I doing wrong? Tips appreciated! Thanks!

  • You need to give more information before anyone can help you. Specifically - how many visitors are you getting and where are they coming from?

The problem could be not enough visitors. It could be that the information you are giving your visitors isn't what they are expecting. It cold be poor sales copy. It could be that your visitors are in a niche/sub-niche of freebie seekers. Just a few suggestions
  • How long has the site been live. There's a big difference in our answers based on this.
  • The site has been live for maybe 2 weeks now? I can't remember exactly. Not sure how many visitors it is receiving since it's a wordpress blog.

    Here's the link:
Perfect Love Here I Come Blog

    Any ideas?

    • Just 14 Days, that's like nothing.

My sale from my first website came after 30 days.

Just keep building links and traffic and eventually sales will start pouring in (provided you have a good copy etc.)

  • @rosetrees: Wow! Thanks for the warning! I'll definitely try to raise the funds for my own host + domain now.

    • You don't need lot of amount for domain and hosting.
You can get 1 cent hosting for one month from hostgator,
Ff you search for "Hostgator rebate" you can get rebate offer up to $50 with initial discount.
    • Or just use informationjunkie.net, its a free blog host where you get a fully functioning wordpress blog with tons of plugins, skins etc and you can point your own domain at your blog...and they love marketing blogs ;-)

      • [ 3 ] Thanks

  • You can export the contents of your existing blog to a file that can be imported into your own hosted WordPress blog.

Is this the sales page for the book - Perfect Love Here I Come -Helping YOU have the relationship of your dreams! ? If it is again you are using free hosting, and that will come back to bite you later! It also may make a lot of ClickBank affiliates pass you by.

  • If you're using a free host then surely that's against the ToC of ClickBank?

Also if this is your first IM venture then you've picked a very tricky niche UNLESS you have something genuinely unique to say about it.
  • I haven't used Wordpress to host my blogs, but I am pretty sure that you can have a counter on your site - look around for free counters and put one on your site. If you don't have many visitors, then start looking for ways to increase traffic and if you have quite a bit of visitors and no sales, then take a closer look at your blog an optimize it.

    • Try using statcounter, they are free and have an invisible counter option
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Currently I'm using PayDotCom. I'm thinking about transferring to Clickbank, though. Your thoughts?
  • Thanks for the share. I'll check it out.
  • It might be time for a little outside SEO work. You can get a lot done over at Fiverr on a budget of $30. Just make sure to check their feedback sore.

    • Browse through this forum and learn about the following terms:

      AdSense
      Article marketing
      SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
      Video marketing
Traffic generation methods (there's a nice thread for that here on War Forum).
  • Someone must've reported me.

    • Even if no one reported you, you will still be caught by them. Checked the site and it's not accessible anymore.

  • Dont waste your time building something that wont last... Also, realize that it takes time to make money from scratch like you are trying to do... Two weeks is not a lot of time - you could make a sale in that time, but it doesnt mean that you will be making consistent sales that fast - and consistent sales is what you're after...
  • Yeah I'm going to want to get some hosting when I have the money to do so.
  • This blog has been archived or suspended for a violation of our . You can .

yes the old one was slammed , but to be honest that new one with those free banners looks ?
  • Wow thinks! Didn't think there was any free and reliable hosting.
  • Hey,

You are getting your messages responded to. You are getting advice, some of it pretty good stuff.

So, what are doing RIGHT here? To get the big response you are getting?

Perhaps you can do the same on your blog spots?

I think, perhaps, it might be your Avatar Pic.

Try putting more of YOU (or the pic of whomever that is) up at your sites, and maybe you'll get some sales.

  • First of all don't go with free hosting. You have to work a lot harder to get ranked if you use free host. and next problem is you are expecting too much when using seo don't expect sales in just 14 days. Its SEO not PPC. And also install some visitor tracking service like analytics to track your visitors.

  • I can't afford either PPC or a host so I guess it all ends here. :p
    • [1] reply
    • Seriously can't afford hosting? That's the equivalent of a 9-to-5-er turning down a job because he (or she) can't afford a shirt and trousers.

Maybe you haven't seen how cheap hosting can be ... Try Hostgator, they are dirty cheap and very reliable and have excellent support.

Or if you are really hard up - you can write articles for $3-$10 each. You could advertise your services for free on Digital Point. A couple of hours work a month will pay for your domain(s) and hosting.
  • Thanks for the advice. I may go down that article avenue.
  • put a picture of yourself up on the site early... guys will want to get advice from a hot chick (which you are) and women would think you really know about relationships (being that you're a hot chick and they assume you've probably been through a few

Also, it will give your page a little life, personality.. by the way I skimmed through it and I had trouble finding exactly what you were selling or where to download it
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • 14 Days and you want sales ?

My first sale from clickbank was after 3 months after that it came so quick .

Just make more BL and then wait for BIG G .
  • Gina, here is a plan if you wish to proceed - at least its what I'd do in your situation:

1 - Pick up a .info domain at GoDaddy for 99 cents - last I checked "perfectlovehere.info" was still available.

2 -Get a Hostgator account for 1 cent using a coupon code - What is the best coupon code for me? HostGator.com Support Portal. The free hosting Alexa mentioned may also be a possible choice, but most of us here use Hostgator so there may be an advantage here if you need support on the forum in the future.

3 - Set the "nameserver" on the GoDaddy control panel to the values provided by HostGator - it's a simple task that I (or many others here) can walk you through.

4 - Install WordPress from the HostGator CPanel. Import your existing site to it, or start fresh with a new theme.

5 - Install a few plugins on the WordPress site, again I or many others here can help you with this. There are plugins that create Google XML site maps and that help with SEO.

6 - Put your free download as a PDF in an obscure directory on your site.

7 - Get an AWeber autoresponder account - they also have a 1 dollar introductory special. This will be used to build a mailing list, which is the single most important property that an Internet Marketer can have. Affordable Email Marketing - Price Your AWeber Account

8 - Setup a mailing list with a form to capture e-mail addresses and offer your free PDF in exchange for a mailing address. You might also consider creating a series of mailings and have someone sign up for your "free 10-part relationship course" or something like that. Use AWeber to do this, again lots of people here who can assist you with this.

9 - Place your sales page in another directory on the site. There are a lot of free sales page templates you can use to create one.

10 - You may also want to consider e-junkie for hosting your paid download, to prevent theft. Google for an e-junkie coupon and you can get at least 2 months free. E-junkie Shopping Cart for selling downloads & tangible goods

That handles the mechanics, but there is a LOT more to it then just that!

Once you have this all in place you can begin the job of actually marketing. You are in a highly competitive niche, so what you need to do is focus on a segment of that niche (a micro niche). The best way to do that is to consider who your ideal customer is - you're not WalMart so don't assume it's everyone.

    - Gender?
    - Age range?
    - Status (single, married or in a relationship, divorced)?

Once you determine that write articles targeting that group, and drive that traffic back to your blog. Get these people on your list, and establish yourself as an expert in the field - I notice that you already have published your book on Kindle so leverage on that.

Once you have established your creditability with them pitch your product, perhaps offer a discount to your list.

When you start making sales then it's time to look at ClickBank. You'll have a proven track record that can attract the affiliates with the substantial sized lists that will make sales for you.

Hope this helps, please feel free to PM me if you need any assistance.

    Best of luck

    Bill

  • Awesome post mywebwork..

Perfectlove, keep trying! It takes longer than 2 weeks to get something going...

I haven't even done anything yet, still learning.
  • Your link is not working from my computer. Violation of terms?
  • I think you just need more sales copy above the fold.

You can get a .com domain, and a full year of hosting for less than $21.00.

Cheap Shared Hosting,Cheap Windows Web Hosting,Cheap Linux Web Hosting

If money is tight, there is no need to spring for a $4-$5-$10/month hosting package until you can afford it. This host is where I started 7 years ago, and my first three websites are still there, and still bring in money every month. Long term you may want a more robust site, but in the short term, there is no reason to pay for bandwidth, space, etc that you do not need.
  • You are getting lots of good info on this thread. This is what I like about this forumn. The people here have been there done that and they are so willing to share with others. Just keep reading this forumn and little by little you will learn from the folks here and you will make some money.

Most of the time I don't have to post a question about a problem I am having because I can usually find someone else having the same problem. Make a habit of coming on this site for at least an hour each day.
  • your wp page says its a violation of terms... So I cant see it... But Like the others say I would give it a little more time and hope for the best
  • Your scribd PDF wasn't clickable... put that on your list for:
    - find some free PDF software that makes my links clickable on scribd

I use Adobe, but that's pricey ... I'm sure others will know one that's free and creates clickable links in PDFs.

Oh - and go easy on scribd, they've got a habit of deleting accounts too.... if you're considered over-promotional.... which is a moving target on the internet.
  • Hi,

I hope you don't mind me being straightforward with you. I am assuming the two products (which actually appear to be thin sales pages for affiliate products) you have are what is in your signature.

    a) The 'love' book -- you purport to be a relationship expert, but you have at most 2 pages of content for the 'free' item, that really doesn't help people. You have about 5 pages of "write here, do work here", without much guidance.

One good thing though is I do like the layout of the book. But you need a lot more meat for it to be useful. The affiliate links at the back look like exactly that, affiliate links, and there is no real incentive for someone to actually buy it. While I of course am still learning myself, you need to do some 'preselling' or warming up the prospect before essentially shifting gears from a leisurely 20mi/hour to 150mi/hour on the autobahn.

    a) Your actual "product review" for for the WoW is really sparse. If I was a gamer, I would have found it pretty much useless. You should either purchase the guide, get a copy of the guide, and/or give out some useful gold nuggets of why its good. Essentially what you wrote was "I like it, its good so I like it, and I like it because its so good so since its so good I like it and you should like it because I like it".

For the articles, I am assuming you just simply cut & paste the articles from the affiliate package? There is no original work there with the articles you've posted on your blog, as they are identical to a number of other websites on the internet, i.e.,

World of Warcarft Review,Best wow Leveling Gold Guides Reviews
    Wow Gold Guide Reviews
Guide Review Reviews about pdf guides for anything

In a nutshell, I'd say you probably spent 3-4 hours creating the two websites, and you are expecting a huge income to start coming in from essentially doing absolutely nothing. (If you spent more time than that, I'd say it's your learning curve, because it shouldn't take more than that. You could even accomplish the same thing in about 30 minutes - 1 hour if you were really focused and knew what you were doing).

There are a ton of things that you can and need to do (making money 'nowadays' is not the same as it was 10 years ago, i.e., now you actually 'need' to have a plan of attack).

The 'simplest' solution/"business" model for you right now if you want to see sales is this (and pick one of them):

    a) Create a report (if you are going that route) that is actually useful. Do the absolute best job you can. Imagine it is a project that you are being graded on, have had 4 weeks to work on, and its due tommorow, and whether you pass or fail the course depends on this single item. It should be that good.

    b) Set up a streamlined process. While everyone says make a list, you can still make money without a list (although a list obviously helps). If you depend on search engine traffic, you should focus on some kind of encrypted link (i.e., through php), simply because google is really coming down hard on "affiliate review" sites (i.e., PR10->0 overnight), simply by evaluating and seeing if it is an affiliate site. You'll need to do a bit of research here, but there are workarounds. If you do make a list, take a look at what other people do to sell, and 'model' it. (Don't rip it off. Learn from it, add your uniqueness, and make it better).

    c) Traffic generation. It's become ridiculously competitive nowadays compared to before, even 5 years ago, but you can still get traffic. But you need to have something unique. Since you are a girl, and at least from your profile picture you look relatively attractive, capitalize on that. Maybe something like "Geez, even a cute girl like me plays WoW. Find out why.". You need a 'hook', something that is intriguing/gets people interested. And actually create USEFUL engaging content. Something unique. There are a plethora of different traffic techniques, but if you are doing it yourself, anything and everything from article marketing, video marketing, long tail keywords ('bum' marketing), guest posts, facebook fan pages, etc, etc. Pick one of those traffic generation techniques and become an expert in it.

In a nutshell, that is what you need to do to start seeing sales. Initially, you will actually need to work (contrary to what most salespages say nowadays, it's unlikely you will make $100k+/year from sitting on your butt
playing WoW, simply unzipping a bunch of articles then asking other to promote your website for you).

If online income is one of your goals, learn everything you can in your spare time about it. Get a regular job in the meantime to pay the bills. When you have food in your belly, and a roof over your head, it makes thinking and planning a lot easier. As you start to learn, and find you start to make sales, then you can walk away from your job and make a living online.

I have done that successfully for a number of years, yet I am still learning.

    - J
