making my own product to sell from plr, I have the traffic

I wanted to get some peoples thoughts on this as I have no experiance at all in this area, I am good at putting sites together and getting them to rank and have done this for a company for a while but I have never really made money from a site myself before so its far from something I feel confident doing.

My site is an information one on shares and gets a decdemt amount of traffic from a niche of share researcher - I could probably produce something to sell to these people from plr stuff that already exists but I am wondering then how to push it, I know all about sales pages and what works on them but what I am questioning is if I should

1 - Have the pdf that I am selling be ppushed as a product of the main site

or

2 - set up a second site to do the actual selling and use the site that gets the traffic strongly recomend you take a look at this guide which will then click through to the sales page.

Also, for an ebook I was thinking of charging £4.99 and would really like to bring in a few hundred £ a month when its all up an running, to do this at current rates I would need to convert at a rate of around 5%, does this sound really high?
