Digg is working on that. They have a new update coming soon which might start gaining them more traffic.

Either way it's still possible to get a lot of traffic from getting on the top news.

Reddits currently the one with the most traffic.

Reddit actually has a really interesting advertising platform.

People are using it in very creative ways.

I can't say from personal experience whether digg sucks or not.

      BUT...

      Clearly...

      They're having trouble.

Kevin Rose recently stepped back in as CEO.

When somebody like him (or Michael Dell) or any other founder does that -- you know something's UP! (or down ... like sales/traffic/results/audience/)

      RIPDIGG?

      Cheers,

Can you back up that statement with adequate proof?

I get traffic from StumbleUpon if I have the time to promote there. Interesting and informative content usually gets the most views and gets recommended by other people.

I also network with people with similar interests on SU, make friends, talk to them, and the ones with a lot of influence promote my best contents if they like it.

Instead of blatantly advertising there, go talk to people, socialize with those who share similar interests, it really pays off to take a bit of time to talk tot he humans.

So what exactly did Digg do to lose all the users? What's new that's so different? More ads? I just visited and didn't notice any more ads than an average site. Not sure why Diggers are so upset. Someone enlighten me.

Its the stuff thats appearing on the home page and the most popular stuff... It just isn't what it used to be.

It used to be important news, science, technology etc. Stuff nerdy people liked. Then it was "cute pics" of cats n stuff.

Now it's just random stuff no one cares about. eg: "3 secrets about potato chips you didnt know" .. no one gives a crap about it.

Also.. "if it aint broke, dont fix it" comes to mind. there was absolutely nothing wrong with the way it functioned.. worked or generally how it was designed...

Anyways this is way off topic.

    Good Stuff..
What I know is, traffic from social bookmarking sites are NOT targeted and they rarely converted into sales or leads.

I'd say it's pretty targeted considering stumbleupon typically sends people to sites they are interested in and people check out articles they are interested in.

That doesn't mean you'll make any sales, but if you have a great free product you could get signups for your list.

Yes I tend to stay away from the social bookmarking sites now. They are getting to picky anyway. I still make just as much money without them. You guys be careful on Digg, Delicious, and StumbleUpon.

digg's latest update has lost all its gleam! Am awaiting its next update to eradicate this issue. Anyways, the video is good.

And once you make your landing page very attractive, you can increase sales with your traffic.

I appreciate it guys. Just a quick video I threw together.

I want to stress that stumbleupon, digg, facebook, twitter/whatever - As long as there is a social component your job is to be social, not to focus on marketing.

You have to look at social media like a party.

Your not gonna be popular at a party if you show up and start telling everybody what you do. You might mention what you do, but your partying, not selling.

Once people decide your cool there a good chance if they are interested in what you have to offer they will enter your sales funnel and THEN you start selling.
