It's been ten years since a new toll-free number area code has been made available in the United States... and it's happening on October 2nd when the 855 toll-free code goes into effect. Right now, you can attempt to grab a valuable 855 vanity number and it won't cost you a dime. In fact, you'll have 30 days before you have to pay for it... and maybe by then you can find a company who wants to buy it from you (hint, hint).
A new kind of land grab - October 1st only!

DomainsBot is letting you reserve the name at no cost. Go here:
DomainsBot TollFree | Results
Just enter in a keyword (7 characters is best, of course) and you'll be given a list of possibilities. You can reserve whichever ones you want.
The system is first-come, first-serve, so just because you put in a reservation doesn't necessarily mean you'll get it (they'll let you know on October 2). But if you do, you'll get to use the number for 30 days (30 minutes of time included). After that, you'll have to pay a $30 one-time activation fee and $15 per month (100 minutes/month included, $0.07/minute after that).
If your reservation doesn't take, or if you cancel before the first 30 days, you won't be charged anything.
I have no financial interest in this or in DomainsBot... just thought I would pass on this interesting little tidbit in case someone wants to flip a phone number or maybe get one for their own use.
