Phillipine Workers and Outages

Finally got set up with an outsourcing company that I feel comfortable with now but two weeks in here comes a Typhoon that sweeps through and nothing is possible because the electricity is out.

So those of you who have experience with this, how long does it generally take for things to get back to normal? How often have there been outages since you've been outsourcing?

    LOL :-D Yes, this is something we have to work with - I've only experienced few times a month where there are outages, but no more than a day. I would recommend using several VAs and ensure you have a backup for each

        Yes, my mindset was to wait but I had gotten to the point where I'm making some amazon money and a monthly pittance from adsense and more resulting work than I have time for. In fact, it has become a second job - a low paying, time-consuming, nerve-racking second job.

        So if I'm going to dig out of this I needed some help, so I don't go shopping as frequently and that's how I'm going to pay for it.

        As far as experiences, it had only been two weeks so I can't really give an fully review. I wanted some articles written and eventually spun by them but I wasn't happy with the results, so I wasn't charged but it's time wasted. So my solution was to provide pre spun articles that they submit.

          Outages happen a lot in the Philippines. It's just a part of hiring outsource workers. It definitely takes a little bit of practice when it comes to outsourcing, but the more you outsource, the more you'll learn...

    In my experience, they're not out for more than a few hours. The typhoon was a different story as this does not happen often. Some of my people were out for a day due to the typhoon and others never missed a beat.

      Depending on the weather conditions they can have outages for several days, although is not very common. I'd recommend you to get their phone number in case you want to check out what's going on

      So you have a few workers, if you don't mind me asking did you have to train them? What criteria do you use to pick them?

    My helper is affected as well, it's been 2-3 days since she went MIA.

    I did get an e-mail saying she'll be taking a day off till things get back to normal.

    Typhoons are a big deal in the Philippines so always be checking news sites to see.
