Hi guys, just wandering how many of you sell on fiverr? If so have you had any success with it?

Also any of you know if they have an affiliate programme?

Thanks.

I had a rather unique system set up on Fiverr that was earning me $30-$50/day. It's a long story, but even though those are decent earnings, I decided to scrap that Fiverr idea because the system just required so much maintenance and email, etc...I found that there were better uses of my time for what I was doing...

I do really like Fiverr and have been contemplating introducing my wife to it. She keeps talking about wanting to "make money online", and that may be a great way to leverage some of her talents...

I've sold a small amount on fiverr - which is just right for me; I don't have a lot of spare time so I targeted my gig quite specifically to a niche where I'm comfortable. I haven't tackled doing the same thing on any of their competitors' sites.

When or if I decide to buy a gig on fiverr, I always look for best ratings and have avoided the gigs that look like total rip-offs. I guess I'm recommending you to post gigs which have good value to the end-user and which might lead to bigger commissions later on.

You have to stick your head above the parapet just a little bit if you want to sell stuff! Trust me - I'm a shopkeeper LOL

My own wee gig on fiverr was my only attempt to sell there (although I did buy a couple of gigs first to test the system); if you make a sensible offer and do a competent job, this is work which will build up.

Don't be afraid to try this out just because others get loads of gigs; make your offer something which will be of value to the end user and which you can accomplish well in a few minutes, post it on the site and then just wait and see what happens.

That's like me sticking a newly bought product in my shop window - it might just attract the attention of the casual browser with cash in his or her pocket!

Hi Mar, thanks for the info. I did have a very good idea to make money from fiverr, but not actually selling on there but a fiverr related product.

      Riiiiight.

Let's see, I came up with a creative new way to do 1 minute videos, my first Fiverr customer loves the one I made him and wants me to do more. For a substantially higher price. He's in a business where spending $1,000 to make a single sale makes sense.

Tell me about those beggars again: How exactly do they command a higher price for their "skills"?

Fiverr is exposure. If all you can see is the $3.92 payoff, then you should see the email I get from giggers begging me to let them do their gig for free just so I'll write about it.

I can see the point you're making - and the kind of money you're talking about isn't any kind of 'beggar change.'

I can also understand where he's coming from too: you look at Fiverr for the first time, see pages of people selling their ideas for what comes out to $3 and change US, and conclude how relative it is: if you're one of the many Fiverr grunts from the developing world (as many of them are), $3 and change in US coin is pretty good pay; but if its not even $3 in your own currency, and these are your competitors, AND you have to have to get noticed to make those coins, then its easily written off as too much risk (no guarantee anyone's going to even notice your gig) for too little reward. That was my impression of it exactly.

That said, I can see your point of view and agree with you. There are so many people marketing their gig on Fiverr (who aren't from developing nations) that there has to be serious potential there somewhere - else these people would be spending their time doing other things.

I have a number of fiverr gigs going at any moment, they themselves aren't huge moneymakers but I've done fairly well with some back end sales after delivery of the original order.

I have methods that make me $5 over & over again on Fiverr and related sites...

Which, if you do the math, comes out to $150/hour!

As mentioned above, Fiverr clones that allow you to post for more than $5 are also worth looking into.

    Best,
    Shane

  • Personally, I use Odesk to hire contractors. I guess Fiverr is good if you want a quick one-off thing, but ODesk returns better value for money in the long run for me.

If you are thinking about offering a service, make sure you check them out.

The key to selling on Fiverr is finding something digitally delivered that you're not manually doing per sale... like "I'll show you how to make a facebook application" that is a downloadable PDF or something like that.

Fiverr is so huge. It's hard at the begining, but I hope I will get more sales once I get more good reviews.

I used to have a gig that got me about $50/but it was time consuming, but it covered my two priorities: hair and nails LOL.

I got out when there was a huge bug on my account. I got 10 orders from the same guy for the same gig. I completed them, but only got paid for one because 9 of them "mysteriously" disappeared between day 10 and day 14 of their waiting time for cashing out. Man was I mad! I contacted support and they had no frickin clue what happened!

      • To answer the OP's question, nope, Fiverr does not have an affiliate program. (If only.)

The site is in the top 500 sites in the world according to Alexa. They've got traffic up the wazoo -- I'm guessing they don't need to give up margin to generate more.

Fiverr is a marketplace that rewards innovation and punishes mediocrity with well-deserved obscurity. Did you know there are over 3,000 gigs offering a generic WordPress installation? That's ridiculous. Those people are wasting their time trying to compete to do one 5 minute task. Here you've got a top Internet site that anyone -- anyone! -- can post to for free and they're using it to offer work so simple my cat could do it just walking across the keyboard.

Anyone who can't use Fiverr more effectively than that doesn't deserve to be called a marketer. Stand out from the crowd. Build your brand.

I sell lots of stuff on fiverr.... but it is not my chalk and cheese.

But make sure you build a list when using fiverr...paying customers are the best to have access to.
