Can non-IM info products be 6 figure sellers?

I am curious and want to get some opinions. We all know that people have successfully launched products in the IM/make money niche and had 6 figure+ launches. We know that membership sites revolving around these topics can also make someone a full-time+ income monthly.

My question is whether or not this is really possible/probable for someone who is operating outside of the IM/make money niche?

I know some big IM gurus got their starts in non-IM niches, but my question would be HOW a person goes about making a big, "launchy" splash in areas outside of IM? I mean, if you are launching an IM product, it is easier to run a WSO, do JV's, etc than if you are releasing a product in the parenting niche, for instance.

For those who have no big list, how do they step outside of the IM world and take those launch tactics to a non-IM crowd?

I would love to see a good product showing a huge launch in a non-IM area starting from scratch. Or is there a product like that out there already?

Just curious to get other "takes" on this topic....

    Yes of course it is, Jeff Walker states in his course, product launch formula that these launches work in niches outside the IM niche.

    The main strategy is similar for the launches for the niche.
    Product lauchhes have been done in niches such as poker, parenting, forex, and tonnes of other niches.

    Outside the IM niche? Find Jv partners in forums in your niche, find blogs your niche, find other product owners in your niche on clickbank, search the JV section of this forum for Jv partners.

    It might be easier, but dont let that put you off the idea of doing a launch in the parenting niche.

    Jeff Walkers Product launch formula shows the launch procedure in detail, which can work in any niche, so i guess that shows how to do a launch in a non-Im niche.

      IM is just a niche, and the same marketing/sales principles basically apply for non IM. The easiest is perhaps a JV with others in your market as mentioned previously. Another way which I have done very successfully with mobile marketing and offline communications products is to JV with newsletter/ezine publishers. I found publishers in the Directory of Ezines, but you can also search by topic in search engines. Many niches in fact are far more profitable than IM.

    IM is just a niche out of many many many niches. Every niche has it's big dog making a killing.

    Get out of the IM niche and into the real world. Every product on the shelves at wal-mart makes more than a million dollars... even the sham-wow!

    I don't care what the product is. Somebody can make more than a million dollars with it.

      Over $20 million/year for his dating advice business, and his IM advice business does around $2 million/year as far as I know.

      I believe these figures are sales however, I'm sure after he has paid out affiliates, advertising costs etc he takes home only a fraction of these numbers.

      But still, good money.

    Techniques like product launches will often work much better outside of the IM market because they haven't been as overused as they are in IM. These techniques will work with any market. They rely on basic human psychology and behavior which we all have.

    I think the biggest obstacle is you don't have as many people who are willing to promote your products.

    In the IM niche world, lists and JV's are a dime a dozen. You can't throw a rock in the warrior forum without hitting somebody with a list who is willing to JV and promote your IM product for a percentage.

    Outside of the IM niche, you have to hunt down and find people in the same niche as you to work with. Those webmasters might not have a WF JV frame of mind.

    But lets say you're promoting a dating ebook, I'm sure if you could talk askdanandjennifer.com into promoting your stuff to their list it would do well.

    Yes. Although I have not gotten there, Jeff Walkers Product Launch Formula gives the basis for doing these types of launches; make the launch an event. It's not about what product it is, it's about the relationship with your list according to him. Frank Kern would go one step beyond and tell you to deliver MTV (Massive Transformational Value) to attract the right crowd in the first place (AKA "fishing in the ponds" that yield that kind of response. They other key according to Jeff is to ask them what they want. Eban is doing his financial course launch right now and he did the same thing just last week by sending out a questionairre to "make sure I'm covering what you want to have covered". Truly, nothing more than discovering objections before launching. So long story longer, yes, it seems it can be done to launch 6 figures outside of an IM niche.

      I developed all of my product launch techniques in a niche that had nothing to do with teaching people about internet marketing.

      Just last week I interviewed Product Launch Formula Owners who have done six figure launches teaching about foraging for edible plants and teaching dog agility and investing in real estate in Brazil.

        The launch stories that I hear about Product Launch Formula owners never cease to amaze me. I would never in a million years have imagined foraging for edible plants or dog agility as six-figure launch niches.

        Here in the IM Niche we sometimes tend to limit our vision within our Niche. Jeff gives us perfect examples of the opportunities that lie outside.... sometimes in obscure niches.
