My art website...Any suggestions?

I made a tattoo page were I'm marketing both my tattooing services and tattoo designs, I also made a separate page were I'm marketing a get paid to draw service. Do you think the pages are set up good?
I want to get a lot of people to visit my website! So can any1 help me out?
I have written a few articles and also done some video and photo posting with links.
I'm just overwhelmed right now with all of the "get your website to the top of Google adds" I figured someone here could tell me from their experience what would work best in my situation to start getting some valuable traffic.
Here is my website so please check out each of my pages and let me know if you have any suggestions
TaijasArt.com
Thank you!

Checked out the home page, compared to a lot of websites, it does look good. Given the visually pleasing look, I am sure you would have little in the way of problems getting accepted to Adwords for paid traffic. If you want organic traffic, you need to implement SEO and that is a task which will take longer for traffic to come by.

It looks more like a personal ('This is My Hobby") website than a business one.

Your very first paragraph is about you. It's not easy to hear, but realistically, nobody wants to know things about you (unless you're a celebrity). People are more interested in what's in it for them.

It should be about what the customer can get out of your website. Your offer, your call to action and samples of your work need to be above the fold.

I also think your social bookmarking icons are way too big and distracting.

Feature your art and if you really want to post photos of yourself or info about you, make an 'About Me' page.

      Edited to add:
I also don't see the benefit of asking for people's phone number on your opt in. A lot of people don't even want to give out their first name, much less their phone number.

Do you plan on calling the people who sign up for your newsletter?

The page is simple yet definitely artistic but looks like a multiply page. I would suggest for you to post pictures of different finished works and customers as your homepage.

          Just wanted to add:

You mentioned a page about a drawing service. I don't see that or a link to it anywhere.

On your Tattoo page, you have a form for people who wants custom tattoos. Maybe it's because I don't know anything about tattoos, but it sounds like you'll be flying out to wherever they are to offer your service.

I'm assuming you mean a custom tattoo designed by you. You need to clarify that.

I also noticed that you do not have an RSS feed.

Well done on getting your site up

PhoebeSmellyCat has raised some really good points re moving the focus more to the customer rather than you.

Here's my 2c worth re the optin form in particular:

    - Add a reason WHY your customer should sign up (a benefit) eg: Get 6 free tattoo designs available EXCLUSIVELY for your subscribers
    - Is it really necessary to have their phone number? Every field you add will lower your opt in rate
    - Move the form to the top right of the page
    - Change the 'Submit' text to pretty much anything other than submit. Most ppl don't want to 'Submit' to anyone .. unless your target market is the 'submitting' kind Try something that reinforces the benefit of joining up eg: Send me my FREE tattoo designs now!
    - Get rid of the 'powered by aweber' link. You worked damn hard to get a customer to the point of signing up, don't let them wander off on a random link, even if it is an affiliate one!

    Libby

PS: Like PSCat I got confused with the 'Get a custom tattoo' offer (on the Taijas Tattoos page) Now I'm not your target market and they may well know exactly what you're offering here but are you saying you will just draw a design for them? Or draw a design and tattoo on to them.

As I say, not your target market (!) so ignore this if it's blindly obvious to your target market exactly what you do mean here

Beautiful site! Wow, and that is your first site? I wish my first site was that nice! Placement of the aweber form looks good. You know you don't have to leave their link on that form...

Uhmmm....maybe I missed it, but if you are trying to get local tatoo business, don't you have to give out your location?

I did find two typos on the "Draw for Money" page:

    1. '..if you're artwork is not making money' should be 'if YOUR artwork is not making money.

    2. 'Know any artist's...' should be 'Know any ARTISTS...'

    Best of luck to you!

      Ah! I found the page.

You page links were way up at the top and I missed it.

Diane is right. You would need to fix those spelling typos. You have others:

"This is a great way to start making extra money if your an artist." It should be 'you're'.

"Perfect for ANY Artist or freelancer..." 'Artist' does not need capitalization.

Good luck on your new venture!

      Hi,
If this is your 1st site congrats!

      1. You do not clearly define your target audience. Who makes up the bulk of your clients. I would have to say 18 to 30 year old males have the highest spend on tats. Your header is a bunch of flowers and butterfly's most men will hit the back button.

      2. What's your USP? (Unique Selling Proposition). You do nothing to show me right off the bat why you are different than any other place.

      3. Your opening paragraph is about you, sorry but your customers don't care. They want to know why they should give you money.

      4. That piece of art below your photo is confusing. I can't tell what it is and I've got ink myself, trust me.
I would get rid of that thing.

      5. People are not as interested in the tat as they are the lifestyle. Really think about who you target market is, think about their dream lifestyle and put words and imagery together that speaks to them.

      6. For your work (art, tats ect) set up a portfolio or gallery. Your home page should express their dream lifestyle and tell them why they should give you money. Why you? What makes you so special that I should give you my money? It's MY money, you want some you better tell me why your better than the site I just left 2 seconds ago.

Oh yeah, ditch askin for the phone number on your opt in, with it you'll be lucky to get any sign ups.

And, if you want me on your list you need to give me a benefit I can't get from your competition.

      I hope that helps, Patrick
