Virtual Assistants, and where to find them!

Hello Warriors,

I've been reading a lot about people who hire VAs to help them scale up their business and offload some of the business processes on.
Further, I've heard a lot of praise about Philipinos! From what I've heard, they're pretty consistent with their efforts and are hard workers.

This leaves me with only one problem. Excuse me if I seem a little dumb here, but where do you find Philipinos looking to work as VAs?

Thanks!

Pragun

  • You can go to Filipino/Pinoy tech forums and other local online communities where discussions about
SEO, blogging and Internet marketing among other relevant topics can be found...

Many Filipinos are still skeptical about working with businesses, home businesses and individual Internet marketers who
do not have registered business presence locally though...

Its great that you want to outsource Filipino workers but you might want to consider hiring the people in your country first. Odesk is the biggest freelance portal you can use to find freelancers.

I also prefer Filipino freelancers. They don't ask for expensive fees for a well done job.

Have you tried Kenya. Kenyans are also hardworkers and competent in their work.

    Hey Pragun,

I've found that oDesk is the BEST place to find virtual assistants. I always used to hear "Just go to oDesk" and think it was just another overpriced freelance site. Not so, it's actually really efficient and affordable. You can see what your outsourcers have been working on and pay them by the hour. So instead of hiring some overpriced firm for the whole month, you can get several different jobs done to your exact specifications for a lot cheaper. Let us know how it works out for you!

    Thanks,
    Mark

I have worked with a few Filipinos and I was impressed with their knowledge, use of english, and competitive wages. For sure, you'd want to spend some time on odesk browsing through the applicants and interviewing them as they apply to your jobs.

Joe Finn. I swear he grows them in vats or something, every few weeks he goes wandering around the internet asking if anyone wants to hire one of these VAs.

I use vworker.com to get work for myself and have given a couple of jobs away. It is good because you don't have to pay to bid on jobs or ask questions. You can see a person's track record too.

I've used Elance for outsourcing and bidding for projects and let me tell you, Filipino VAs are responsible and most are expert in their field. I dislike the hourly monitoring system from odesk( there was a debate on this in another thread)

I absolutely like odesk. I have been using it from many months now and am quite pleased with the quality of workers there. There are some frauds and cheats too and some low quality workers. But if you know how to select the good ones, then there is a lot of talent pool there.

I also got duped a couple of times, but overall I got lot of work done there at cheap rates.

Odesk.com is the best place to find outsourcers from the philipinees thats where all of mine have come from and they are good workers too.

I always aim for filipinos because they are very hard workers and they do an amazing job and always seem so skilled at what they do.

They also want to please you all the time and dont mind doing all the repetative data entry jobs that can take a lot of time in your business.

Odesk is fabulous for a lot of reasons - I've used that one for all the outsourcers I've found. I've never worked with anyone from the Philippines; my VA team was all Pakistani, and I love them dearly. Really, I would never have gotten anywhere without them.

Odesk is where I hire as well, and sometimes on Elance.

But do your homework, because there are some rotten apples as well. I've ran into some problems with a backlinking campaign... I actually LOST ranking because the VA started to use black hat techniques behind my back.
