Do I price compare with links?

I am making a new website selling widgets.

The widgets are always cheapest on Amazon.

Should I write something like Amazon is even cheaper than Shop B, and link to the shop B price? IN doing that I'd be providing a relevant link to a direct competitor. And I probably don't want competitors noticing my website either. But providing the link will make it more convenient for users to compare prices themselves.

If I were you, I wouldn't mention Amazon.
When people see that it's cheaper on Amazon they will probably go to Amazon instead of "Shop B"

Apologies for lack of clarity, but my site is based on selling Items through Amazon. I did a price comparison to check that my readers were getting a good deal, and found that Amazon is always cheaper anyway. I'd like to point that out to my readers, as knowing that should assist sales conversions.

Have you considered setting up a comparison graph on your site? When you mention that you would include a "relevant link to a direct competitor" I assume that it would be your affiliate link. That way, you make the sale no matter which link the visitor clicks and buys from. There are very good plug-ins that do this, both free and paid.

If you are going to link to multiple sources for your widgets, use multiple affiliate links to get them there. Definitely point out that Amazon is the cheapest, but if you are going to offer them a link to buy the product somewhere else, there's no reason not to use the affiliate link.

Thanks for the tips guys. I'll definitely look into comparison graph plugins (I'm on WP).

Assuming that I am aiming to sell stuff via my Amazon links, Shop B is not mine, but I'd like to use it to show that Amazon is cheaper, but Shop B does not have an affiliate program, should I link to it or just state it's name?
