Wordpress Help: Does The File Size Of The Theme Affects Site Loading Time?

INTERNET MARKETING

I have two premium Wordpress themes one is 10.6 MB and the other is 7.96 KB

Does the difference in file size affects page loading time or that is just a hosting issue?

The number of Plugings a blog has can affect the loading time.

If you have 5 plugins, compared to 100, the 100 one would load slower.

and in the 100 one, some of the 100 plugins might clash with each other. (the code-script with each other, that is)

  Not necessarily. I have a theme with almost 20mb and still have a page speed score of around 90.
  
  The most part of such a big theme is what you're going to see in your admin panel - I assume you got a wireframe/framework like thesis or similar ones? Those offer a ton of functions in the admin panel which drives up the size. Your site visitors, however, are obviously never going to see that.
  
  Just install both themes, activate one, load your site and run page speed (you have to install the firebug plugin first), then repeat with the other theme and see how they do.

I'm sure it might affect the speed at least a little, but in my experience the hosting is what will affect it the most.

Thanks a lot for your replies. The theme I am refering to is Profits Theme | Full-Blown Profit Sites In Minutes It is lots of features but I am hesitant to use it in every site since the page loading time could affect in terms of SEO

  There are many factors that go into the response time of your site. The theme can certainly affect it if it's doing a lot of things in the background. The number of plugins is also a possibility as is the server you're on.
  
  To speed things up install one of the cache plugins and just play with the settings until it's running faster.

Make sure you have the auto-cache plugin installed on WP, it helps a lot.

Some themes are designed specifically for speed while others are for looks. If those themes are loaded with PHP then they will affect the speed.
