Links in Article Body Become NoFollowed

Looks like resource box remains DoFollow. Whew!

  • Hi Gunter,

    Thanks for the head's up.

I'm sure some people will be upset about this, but I have never put links in the article body, so it won't have an effect on me (or many others).

However, I wonder if this will change the way they look at links in submitted articles?

It's not a good thing or a bad thing, it just is, and the best marketers will adjust their methods accordingly.

    All the best,
    Michael
  • I do not use EZA so much for backlinks anyway but I wonder what the point of that is. Perhaps they are trying to reduce the amount of "authors" as they are seemingly overwhelmed. Obviously, you can still obtain valuable linking when your article(s) get picked up by other sites.
  • I've never placed self-serving links in the body because in my believe it reduces the chances of getting a wider distribution. As long at least the resource box remains dofollow I'm happy.

    • Have to admit I was worried there, EZA is one of the few backlinking stratergies I run (I know I should do more, just always seem to have something else to do!). Thought the article box was going to be nofollow which would have confused me greatly

thank heaven you were only talking about the article body that I rarely use to link and never for personal gain

  • I don't think I've ever put a link in the article body, come to think of it.

  • It just shows that the room for using articles for SEO benefits gets smaller and smaller. Not long ago they did cut down on long-tail marketing by disallowing more than 3 words in the backlink. Now another step in that direction.

  • Good news

  • Personally, I won't submit articles to EZA, but those folks who do will certainly be glad to hear that the resource box links will continue to work as expected. I was surprised to learn that it has taken them this long to add "nofollow" to the links in the body of the articles.
  • I think it's a good move..

Never used the body for links myself..

    Peace

  • Thanks for the info, but the title of this thread scared me. My mind stopped at the resource box immediately

Ah well, it's ok, still good!

    • This is fine with me as well. I have included links in my article if it improved the article, but never to one of my own websites.
  • It's a good move... (Just wait for them to change it in the Bio next - This would stop people submitting rubbish just to get backlinks and would speed EZA up maybe and leave plenty of room for the genuine writers)

I personally have never used a link in the body and didn't even think it was allowed..

As with every good marketer you have to adapt. Systems you are using today could easily change tommorow so don't put all your eggs in the one basket!!
