I always say this before I give away a little strategy - This may take some time but if you want to get some results check out this method.

1.) Go To Where Your Potential Customers Are Online.

Examples:
Forums, Article Directories, Blogs...

2.) Find A Way To Contact People Directly

Why?:

You are going to go on peoples blogs or websites and look for their email address, or you are going to go to forums and private message people who are actively speaking about your niche. Obviously you would not go to IM forums and do this in the IM niche because people know exactly what your doing and it would just be lame. But any other niche it would work like a charm.

3.) Email Your New Targeted Prospect

All you need to do is say something like this:

Hey,

I saw your posts on (forum/blog) and they are really interesting. I am actually giving away a product for free that teaches you (your niche) so you can learn a little bit more about how big (your niche) really is. I really enjoyed your posts and I hope to hear back from you soon.

Kind Regards,
(Your Name)
(Your Website)

    i do this all the time and it works great, good tip

    i never ask for anything, no linkback, nothing, just make people aware that

    1. they like topic A

    2. I've got this cool thing about Topic A

    they can do what it with they like, many times it's nothing, but it raises awareness about you in a good way imho
