So, being a TAA affiliate, I first saw the technique used here:
Tips to get lean flat abs

Then, I just got ANOTHER email about Dean Graziozi's product:
Rock Bottom Blueprint: Video #1 - The Opportunity

Is anybody testing these kinds of videos yet? I'm interested in what type of CVR hikes you can see.

  • IDK but I'm pretty sure those links should be in your sig...

    And I'm also curious.

    • I'm really starting to dig this style of video.

I think I'm gonna have to try one for one of my upcoming products.
  • the first one is not apple mobile device compatible... so for at least me (on ipad) and others on apple mobile devices the style does not matter :-(

    • Thats interesting...you being one of them video experts =) ...do you think it's not compatible due to the style (whiteboard) of the video, or just something to do with the webpage and coding?

    • Just for clarification, these aren't affiliate links and I don't own these products or personally know these fellas. Just curious if anybody else is testing the approach.

I'd especially like to hear from anybody outside of the IM/MMO niches doing this. I'm putting resource towards testing something similar; any recon anybody can share would be most excellent.

Ouch. I wonder how much traffic he's wasting without even knowing it. The technical aspect is not my game, but curious to know what video types would be universal. Anybody know?

  • These "how to get abs" gimmicks annoy me.

    Guess what...diet and exercise.

    Great sales pages though!
  • Thanks John for those links. They set my mind racing with ideas. I love innovative videos. I did a little search and found the following video. Be warned though, it takes a lot of patience (not to mention a little artistic skill), to do one of these.

  • Interesting style, I can see this being very powerful in certain markets.

  • I noticed in the Dean Graziossi video he says "This is my ethical bribe".... I'm wondering who's coaching him.. I've heard Kern use that term, and Dan Kennedy too... haha.

Just a funny observation. I don't know that he's even being coached, but the thought crossed my mind when I heard that statement. First person I thought of was Frank Kern.

Also, Ezine articles uses these types of videos for a lot of their tutorials... They've had them forever too.

  • Each of these stop animation examples enjoy about 2 million views each.

Note that the RSA site delivers fairly dry university lectures. The reason
why these series of videos are so incredibly popular, is of course the
whiteboard animation. The animations are incredible.

The lesson? This could be an extremely powerful marketing medium.

    • Wow now that is some real talent right there.

Just wondering how these sort of guys can use it to create their own affiliate program for drawing services. the right type of mind could really clean up there. :-)
  • OK... I'm confused...

The two videos above (winnerone's post) don't look
like stop animation. They look like someone recorded
an artist drawing the scenes then sped up the playback
    in editing.

    What am I missing?
  • I have seen many presentations online, and I don't mind the white board approach as long as the presenter keeps it interesting. The one thing that a white board approach has, is that you actually get to see the presenter. That can help you if you are good in front of the camera. I am not. I prefer to make a powerpoint or screen recording, and show people that I know what I am talking about. Once someone sees you as an authority, they will trust you for advice.
  • One insurmountable, at least in my case, prerequisite for doing whiteboard drawings like this is that you must be a reasonably proficient artist.

I have problems drawing a circle...

    • Good share Winnerone. I found myself spending 20 minutes I didn't have watching them. Now, only imagine if the topic was how to get a whiter smile, flatter stomach or fatter wallet.

That's an unreasonable fear DigitalMoolah. I think only one of the videos linked in this thread shows anything more than a moving hand. And it doesn't even have to be YOUR hand.

That's what cash is for . Whenever you don't have the skill set that ya want, why not pay somebody that does?
  • This incredible process is called video scribing.

Ever since John Galt started this thread, I've been obsessing on how to do this. I Googled until I was blue in the face, and only came up with two companies that specialize in this whiteboarding technique.

Ydraw.com offers great examples of their service, but they charge (hold onto your hat) a thousand bucks per minute. Yikes!

The other company, Room 214.com, doesn't even have a pricing page on their website. They want you to phone 'em for a price. Uh, oh. You know what that means.

Here's a unique way to make some good money.

Search fiverr for a good artist, show him (or her) video scribing examples, and ask how much they'll charge to do five minutes. If the cost is reasonable, you'll now be in business getting jobs for this fiverr gigster.

Of course you'll add 15-20 percent for your take. I bet you'll get tons of jobs from offline Warriors who specialize in creating one minute commercials for clients. This can be a great alternative to the now too common, Animoto.

    Go get 'em.
  • Yes like was said above video scribing and whiteboard animation videos are expensive. I posted some more details on a former post about video scribing videos. There are only a couple of companies that produce the quality that is necessary. You can always negotiate the price and sometimes you can get them for a couple of thousand dollars if you have a product that will get buzz and work as a marketing piece for a company.
