INTERNET MARKETING

Just wondering what people recommend currently for recording videos of your screen.

I've used Jing in the past, but Id' be interested know what people currently use and recommend. I have a tutorial in the making that needs videos.

You can try camtasia. Easy to use and allows you to edit after recording. Hope this helps. =)

You'd probably be better asking in the Internet Marketing Product Reviews & Ratings forum.

My recommendation would be Camtasia Studio (currenly version 7.1)

I've heard CamStudio is good value for money (It's FREE ;-)). But I haven't used it myself. I'm guessing it's a clone of Camtasia. For non-audio videos I have previously used AutoScreenReader again free, but probably won't meet your needs unless they've upgraded it for audio.

Camtasia is by far the best, and I think there is a free 30 day trial too.
Screencast isnt bad either.

Also, do a google search for photostory, its a free application by microsoft, (free to genuine windows users), and lets you string together a set of photos, (or screen grabs), and lets you add text, effects, and a music score to make it into a video file.
Very useful.

Camtasia is too pricey for what I need right now and CamStudio just crashes.

I found BBFlashBack Express - which is free and has recorded the first video and uploaded it to Youtube without a problem.

Camtasia is over $200 bucks. There's also 100% free, web-based tool, its awesome: Screencast-O-Matic - Free online screen recorder for instant screen capture video sharing.

I use Screenflow. It is inexpensive and works great, (only for Mac OS).

The latest version of QuickTime can also capture your screen as a video but won't record sound...

Any free tool that looks and takes care of all your needs will do. Do a Google Search and you will find it for sure.

Hi,

As someone who produces a lot of video tutorials, Camtasia is the only one I've stuck with, I did try a few free/low cost alternatives.

For advanced editing of videos produced with Camtasia, I sometimes use Sony Vegas.

Depends on your needs of course, if you want to be serious about producing - then getting used to a system and investing in your business is the way to go.

I also do lots of videos and I have used Screenium, iShowU, Screenflow, Camtasia, all on Mac platform, and I used Camtasia, Camstudio, Hypercam, and Jing (5 minutes max), all on Windows.

Nothing compare to Camtasia studio, either on Windows or Mac, that's why it's pricey there are no real competitions, especially on Windows.
