Hi, If someone can help with this, I'd much appreciate it.
I want to receive ongoing subscription payments, but just discovered that
the payment processor I wanted to use, PayPal, limits the amount of
subscription payments you can receive to 30 "cycles". That means that
if you want to receive payments monthly, the subscription payments
will stop after 30 months, unless you have the person re-purchase the
subscription.

Since you're likely to lose some subscribers if you have to ask them to
re-purchase, I want a payment processor who will not have a limit on
the number of payments.

Other than 2checkout.com, does anyone know of a processor with unlimited subscription payments, who is honest, reliable, and will be
around for the long term, and who has reasonable rates?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help with the answer.

If they paid your for 30 months cycle, wouldnt it be a no brainer to ask them to repurchase .. after all, credit card date expiry is bound to happen in around 3 years or so, and they will have to repurchase anyway..

If they can do for the latter, why cant they do for the former?

Hi Asianlunatic, your explanation has full logic, so I think that kind of problem solved what isn't problem anything. BTW Paypal is a reliable and well known payment method I use it with satisfaction.

Thanks a lot for that commonsense thought Asianlunatic. I had not considered the situation in that light. Problem is not really a problem after all.
Thanks again for your insight. It is much appreciated.

I've always thought the best way to run a subscription site would be to use a system where you are in control of charging the subscribers rather than leaving it to a company like PayPal.

My reason for this is that it makes your site more difficult to sell if your subscribers are tied to your PayPal account - if you sell the site then the buyer of your site will need to cancel all the subscriptions in your PayPal account and, more importantly, get everyone to re-subscribe using their payment method.

Obviously this isn't a problem if you aren't planning to sell but it's worth considering if you are.

    Cheers,

    Neil
