40,000 visitors, mostly indians, how can I monotize?

    I am an Indian and I can tell you that for every 20-100 US citizens who buy something online, not more than 1 or 2 Indians would buy the thing even if they could actually afford it.

    Although I know that this may sound odd, but you are best off subscribing them to your list or using CPC stuff and not CPA on them. Indians rarely buy online.

    Unless of course you have a purely IM crowd where stuff for $5-10 or less may sell like hot cakes.

    Also, Adsense and other CPC stuff though not as good may really work. Anything where you can advertise web space should work great.

    The only niche where some Indians might spend an odd $5 if to be paid via Paypal is probably in the work from home or make money online niche. Other than that you can't do much.

    Of course, I am only talking of the majority (95% people), not everyone

      I'm not Indian, but if the traffic isn't responsive to "paid" offers - where they have to put their credit card information - you may try monetizing with related CPA offers.

      You say your site is in the adult niche - well, you could try promoting dating offers for Indian traffic. Neverblue and EWA as CPA networks have some good offers you might be interested in.

        I agree with my other Indian friend...Indians rarely buy online...And for the site u said Indians will look for free stuffs like free *** videos, free *** advices etc.

    If so, promote pickup products, because the demographic situation in India is pretty intense. Very high male to female ratio and guys find it hard to get laid.

      I'M AN American living in India the past 5 years. I came here in 2007 to build an seo outsourcing business. Ive worked with a LOT of indian companies and have a unique insight into online buying habits within the Indian market.

      Typically the other posters talking about Indians are correct. My experience has been that ESPECIALLY in the adult market, anyone with net access pretty knows how to get just about EVERYTHING for free and have an aversion for paying for things online. That coupled with a 5,000 yr old culture driven by surviving in a place where there are more people than resources, trust is a MAJOR factor and when it comes to online, they dont trust!

      However, there are starting to be several notable exceptions. The first that comes to mind is Flipkart. Flipkart is a f bootstrapped online shopping portal that took advantage of the Indian mindset and leveraged it to become a multi million dollar a month business. Two primary factors made this possible

      #1. Lack of product availability.
      there are basically two major retailers. The Reliance companies and the Tata companies. There is a third who makes up only a small % of sales compared to the other two and that is Kishore Byani of Pantaloon and Big Bazaar fame.
      These companies pretty much control retail in India and their selectiion, while constantly getting better, is still very limited

      #2. The trust factor. Being indians themselves, the owners of Flipkart are VERY aware of the distrust most Indians live by.

      So Flipkart has a catalogue of a LOT of products,(many foreign), AND IT IS ALL DELIVERED C.O.D. !

      There is one other notable exception. I worked with a company who specifically targeted the Indian online market and they did VERY well! They sold discounted study courses to pass your MBA or other specialty degrees. They sold thousands a day!

      Now the traffic you are describing is likely 25 or under and that means they are the perfect demographic for being involved with higher education! THIS IS YOUR GOLDEN EGG ! find yourself an online study company and become a reseller. get up the banners and flash ads for GMAT prep courses and Gmat free online practice tests and watch about 1% to 3% response. That would be a potential 400 to 1200 orders a day! off of 40,000 uniques a day

      You can also contact flip kart and see what it would ask to carry one of your products and then advertise that BUT I would pick music, movies, and foreign fashion they cant get in India. things that would appeal to a 25 year old Indian male.
      BUT I can guarantee you it aint porn or how to get a date or peepee engorgement. All that is too easy to get for free!

    Yeah pretty well ... I am an indian too ..

    But as the industry changing faster then you change your clothes .. most of the indians citizens now prefer to buy online ..

    If your site is about adult stuffs ... so try something similar to health problems ..
    do your search and you can also be a affiliate to such a product to try and make some money with this amount of traffic.

    Also the easy way is to sell your advertising space in your site .. hopefully some potential advertisers will come your way.

    I'd definitely be looking at some simple CPA offers. You know, the zip and email submit types.

    I've never really had Indian visitors to any of my websites, so I can't comment on their motives to be online. However, most people like something that is FREE - so why not give CPA a go?

    I personally use Peerfly - but not sure how many offers they have that are targeted towards Indian users.

    CPA offer for dating site for India. Neverblue has one. I've tested the offer on paid adult traffic and got quite a few sign ups. The payouts ar elow, so it is tough to make a profit with paid traffic, but you should do ok if you have free traffic.

    I know this from past research and experience that Indians who spend their time online watching adult blogs and material are mostly teenagers without any credit cards and no plans of buying anything online whatsoever. I've seen others try monetizing adult websites with huge number of Indian and Pakistani visitors but they received no success as they hardly made a sale. I don't remember it that well but there was this guy whose website had 50k visitors with 0 sales.

      The only monetization foradult indian traffic is either dating/cam networks or adult paysite affiliation. You will end up wasting time with others.

    I would say trust techndu2012 here. I wish I could remember the site, but there is a site with a couple that are from I believe the US that have lived in India a long time. The site talks about indian culture, etc... It mentions the dustrust, how public transportation works, etc... I also WORK with indians, and have spoken with several at length about this sort of thing. They all line up with what techndu2012 says.

    BTW I have heard of how several indian marriages have come to be. A fair number actually fly to INDIA to get married, so I don't imagine it is THAT much of a problem. Raindance is probably right about your real demographic. BESIDES, a lot of them would trust THEIR methods over US methods, so trying to sell viagra, etc... may be a lost cause. ALSO, at one point, they were a huge maker of such drugs.
