Website Flipping-- How Do I Scale Up?

I have just had amy share of baptism of fire as far flipping website is concerned and not much of an experience yet.

I do see some website that are sold and I want to go in this direction. I see that it is possible to sell a website without traffic or income and they sell for a good profit.

Based on this, I decided to set up my own site a gave it a try. The site did sell but for very low price. Then I realise that my site did not sell for higher price as I wanted because it was not so colourful and customised. the site I sold is Seo article press | SEO Article Writing Service. there are some very customised webiste with very good theme and video. My question now is how do they get those themes.


Secondly, some website such service based site like article writing ,traffic generation and the like claim to make $$$$ amount in 5,10, 15 days. My question now is, where do they get their jobs to make that kind of money?

I need help in this direction to scale up my flipping biz.

    there are a ton of places that sell website themes and wordpress themes

    go to google and search "website (or wordpress) themes)

    expect to pay $15-100 for a good one.

    template monster has been around forever
    theme forest has great ones

    as far as customers - the possibilities are endless as to how they find them.

    determine your target, and ask who could use my service, find out where they hangout, and go network/advertise there.

    I would suggest you go do your research and buy a guide from a successful website flipper. From there just keep putting in work to get better and better at the process. Earning your stripes is going to be the most valuable thing you can do. Experience is better than sitting in one place. Buy the guide and start creating and selling websites.

    I tend to flip brand new websites with no traffic or revenue for around $150 each time. If you want to flip lots of sites you should look at the best niches like hotel and flight search engines.. And if your listing a brand new site you should list it for 3 days and always have a reserve of $50, this works best for me

    I tend to buy all of my wordpress themes of theme forest, there really cheap. Also because i am a website flipper soon im going to launch a WSO on how to flip websites.

    another is www.answerking.com the seller of this site claimed to have made certain amount from the site but where do people who need this kind of service hang out, apart from Warrior forum.

      this is a standard wordpress theme, can get them anywhere premium themes are sold...HOWEVER this has a LOT of graphic design elements that are custom and not a part of the theme.

        I've got to disagree with you. The first website, does not look like a WP site at all in the page source. Unless there is some way to cloak WP code out of your visible source. I'd say it was a template of some sort though. Has that feel looking at the code.

          You are right thye code shows straight html

          it is still what a standard wp theme would show

          header/menu
          slider
          main content
          footer

          there are many themes with this basic layout...could get this created for less than $100 easily and still have the WP CMS

    Most of the "service sites" sold on Flippa are a total waste of time. Nope, Flippa does not stop those sellers from scamming people out of money again and again, and again. Sad.

    Real money is in flipping ranking and earning Adsense sites. Go after the $2500-$3000 demographic. This means that your site needs to be:

    1. Earn at least $150/month through Adsense.
    2. Be a nice looking site.
    3. Preferably have some PR value.
    4. Have a proven (1month+) earnings record.
    5. Have full visitor stats.

      I know about that, but that is if you have the finance to outsource or time to have to do the work needed..,

        Well yea it takes work. I sold a site that I built 6 months ago. I got it to PR3, Alexa arouns 200K worldwide and ranking on Google page 1 and 2 for several keywords. Someone bought it at my BUY NOW PRICE on Flippa. I want to keep on doing this but try to sell once it gets to PR1-2 and makes money via Adsense.

          I believe you read my comment. Who do not like good things? As matter of fact. I am student, and the time to write articles, do backlinks, build traffic is not there for me. And I dont want my GPA to drop due my pursuit in IM because it did in my first semester and that did no go down well with me.

          I know that adsense site is a gold mine on flipper but I dont have the time to put into that and neither do I have the resources to outsource the work. That is my problem and that is why I chose the build and sell model not necessary because I want to scam or deceive people. If I could even find someone that could pay me to set the sites for him/ her,I will be gld, at least that could help me with the finance which I need for my schooling.

          My future plan is to set up adsense sites and sell but I can't do that now.:confused:

    A lot of templates can use that format, I believe. I do that in straight PHP / HTML / CSS. The way it looks organized, I think it is a bought / generated theme. Would love to know the source, if it is cheap, would be great for flipping websites LOL.

    you could give websites away for free, and still make money by offering relevant services (which you can outsource).

    There are a lot of great free themes out there, both HTML themes and WordPress themes, plus some great ones that cost a bit too, but should increase your profits more than they cost. Do a Google search for "free website theme" and you'll get plenty of results! You can either use them as they are, or use them as inspirations for your own ideas.

    As for making money from selling services, there are lots of ways. You can sell on places like Fiverr, oDesk, Elance etc. You can put up a professional looking site, do effective on-page and off-page SEO, and get clients rom organic traffic. You can do JV's with relevant list owners (there's a thread here on someone who made $7k in the first month doing it that way), you can put a link in a signature then answer a lot of posts like I'm doing

    Basically, look what sites are already selling, and do something similar.

    Hope that gives you a few ideas!

    I have personally done very well at selling wordpress affiliate sites.

    I literally use a free wordpress theme such as flexibility theme 2.0 and then choose a suitable product to promote which I usually find on the JV notify Pro website. I will suually contact the product owner to take a free look at her/his product so I can see that it's decent enough to promote. When i feel satisfied I will then buy s suitbale domain name that matches the product name so I canr ank in Google for my affiliate site (for example howtoflipsitesbonus.com).

    I will then do a small review of the product on my new wordpress site and offer some bonuses so I make some affililate sales of the product I'm promoting. When the promotion period has finished I will then flip the webiste on flippa demonstrating the affiliate sales I made and the traffic the site generated.

    My wordpress affiliate sites genrally sell for bewteen $200-$900 and only take around a day to set up. My last site actually sold for $795 which only took 4 hours to set up.     From my personal experience, website marketplaces are full of fraud. Traffic is easy to buy (which is what makes Organic traffic so important) and even affiliate sales can be made by the same person (to himself)... This is why you should be weary of claims of $150 profit within a week or two of the site's existence.
    You should probably focus on setting up your sites the right way, and then aging them while promoting them (depending on how much time/$ you want to invest). Established sites sell for much more $$

      You can see the sources of traffic (bought traffic all comes from a singular URL)

      you can see who sales come from (you can see if they all come from the same group)

    Its not necessarily about the theme (i actually really liked the clean look of the site you sold - bookmarked the skeleton theme homepage!), more the marketing.

    And in the case of those service sites you mention, its just plain b****hit that sells them - the sales are made up.

    Note what others are saying about selling on the backend as well, you could easily make a lot more selling extras to the winner.

      Wow. . . I didn't plan to sell the site so low-anxiety crept in and I was wanting to my FIRST website.

      Am glad some people liked the look and feel of my website. Incase of next time, how much could I have sold this site?

        If you are comfortable and experienced now in making websites, but can not hold them & do SEO and wait months (which might be a goal for you later)-- it would seem for now maybe you should just hire yourself out to make websites.

        That is offer a service making websites for others, be paid per site and not have any fees. Sometimes you would be asked to make 3 or 5 or 10 as a package?

        What I hope to do is make 2 at a time, sell one now and keep the other one which I would get backlinks for and income, increasing value for some future sale. I had been thinking of Amazon sites, but I do respect the advice given here about Adsense being in demand.

      Really to scale up properly you should think about getting traffic and sales before selling. A site making $100 a month with Adsense can be sold for $2000+ if it's a consistent earner.

      Nearly everyone knows how to make a basic Wordpress site, but not so many people know how to make a site that actually earns money. If you can provide them with this then you're on to a winner.

    If you want fully professional themes at right price, you can go to theme forest its a place with the best designers competing with each other at reasonably right price. They will give you a lot of options hope you will find it better
