Making a Post the home page?

INTERNET MARKETING

I have a client that wants to make a particular post their home page and also have the static page name, tag menu, and post have the same name

They are using word press to power their site. I have had a look and the only way I can see to achieve this is to create a new page of the post they want to be the home page and then go through the normal procedure of creating a static page through

Settings - Reading - Static Page- Choose Page

Or is there a way to make a particular post the home page

Just make your post sticky. I used for my client for their homepage posts.

I might be missing something here, but to make a particular post static is exactly the same as making a page static, except you choose the Post you want in the dropdown selection under Settings->Reading

Yeah you are right, you can use the static page for that.
Ideally you should use that as a welcoming post, as it will be shown on the front page only.

I have tried making the post sticky. But did not show up. Also when in the settings option it will only give you the option to make a page the static home page not a post

The latest version, 3.3.1

I suppose I could make that post sticky then in the static page settings make the homepage the blog then this will show up the post and the blog as the homepage.

I just tried logging in to their site and no access they may have dropped me! BRILLIANT!
