Own a website with 700-1000 daily views. Now what?

Hey guys, I currently have a website that gets up to 1000 views a day. And I'm baffled. What is my next step to make money? I have a google banner up on the side, and it's making me about 1 dollar to 2 dollars a day. Which is peanuts. Surely with this many views there has to be something I can do to bring in some real money from this site, right? I really have no idea what I'm doing and would LOVE some help

No problem! The visitors are gamers. Probably younger ones, ages 10-20. It's a website for downloading games, but it doesn't hold any actual games on it. Instead it just poses as a junction station to link them to the sites that do host the games to download.

Also are you collecting email addresses. I want to recommend to start with auto repsonder with optin in the sidebar. Use a plugin like PopUpDomination to rake in more subscribers. Give them a FREEBIE related to your niche and keep them happy. Send the list related niche offers 2 - 3 times a week. Continue sending freebies as well, try to split the buyers from the freebie seekers.

As for on site ads, find somethine suitable offers that convert on 5%+ and positions these ads so that your visitors can not go around them.

Also search for websites just like yours, competitors if you will, and do some research on quantcast.com and see what the demogrpahics are. This will help you with finding suitable offers.

Well speaking from an adsense point of view only you should read up on optimizing the placement of your ads and ad sizes. I'm sure others will chime in about building an email list or some affiliate market, which isn't my forte at the moment.

This also depends on the niche, if adsense pays out or not.

your are on to a winner there.

I think if you sign up with Clickbank.com there
are some ebooks on gaming with some great commission
structures you can gain from.

Have a search on Clickbank and try and find ebooks and guides
for the games that your website links to - I am sure you can
make some good money from that.

Give us extra details? Whats the site about?

Male or female views? Age?

Are you collecting emails?

What kind of IM are you wanting to get into? CPA, affiliate, your own products?

Just noticed you already said it so:

Like someone said before gaming guides. Affiliates for stores that sell these games.

I've seen a couple of CPA offers realated to gaming.

Capture there emails. Then provide them with high quality content. Tell them new game releases. Make them enjoy recieving your emails.

Then start to market them products that you can make money off.

You have done well to get a site with a 1000 views daily. That alone is an achievement.

There are lots of way to make money online but if you don't want to go thru the trouble to learn them then the best way is to include a google analytic code into your website, prove to other internet marketers that you're receiving at least 1k visitors a day, and sell it for instant profit..

(Do some research on the market price before selling it - you certainly do NOT want to sell it below the market value neither would you want to sell it above the market value)

Do you have a funnel set up to give a good and valuable gift to your visitors and get them to opt in, also are in you a buyer keyword based niche or information searchers niche, that combined with the demographics of visitors is critical as to how you want to take the blog further ....

Teenagers are a very low value demographic to small site operators. It doesn't really matter how you try to monetize it, 1,000 hits a day won't amount to much money.

Gaming site? Is it targeted traffic for one game? Or all over the place?

If it's all over the place, you'll have a hard time selling guides or CB products. You'll need Adsense, CPA offers or paid advertising. CPA offers constantly expire and become time sucks. So Adsense and paid advertising are a recommended way to go.

The easiest way to do paid advertising is to list your site in the OpenX Marketplace and let people bid to place their ads on your site.

  I think before you do anything else you should look at your demographics first. I wouldn't imagine that gamers aged between 10 and 20 have a lot of money to spend so maybe you are better off just tweaking your adsense placement and trying to get revenue as high as possible whilst keeping the site running on autopilot.

You can do pretty well with adsense but you need to test and optimize it. You are allowed to put multiple adsense blocks on each page so try them out and see which works best. You can look at adsense "heatmap" results to give you a good idea where to start.
