hello

I have a youtube video with an affiliate link of mine in it. I would like to post the link to the youtube video on a fatwallet forum however when i was about to post I got this following warning which is part of the user agreement of fat wallet:

"You agree you will not post promotional information for a website or entity with which you are an affiliate, employee, owner, or otherwise receive any benefit from. Users who breach this provision are authorizing FatWallet forums to charge the sum of $1000.00 in advertising fees per violative post, plus any collection and legal fees involved in collecting the debt."

Can I post the link to the youtube video with my affiliate link without fear of getting charged 1000 dollars?

thanks for the opportunity to connect with you all

    • Um. No.

Read what they sent you. No.

Unless of course you want to be known as a spammer; and we'll ban you from this forum, that forum and every other forum.
  • why? you didn't give an explanation. looking for answers that have explanations
  • Just do it. How are you suppose to learn anything by not making any mistakes?
Obviously you are not that intelligent enough to take heed of the warning given.
  • Banned
I don't advise that you post the video if it's against the ToS of the site.
  • Before I do something, I like to know why I am doing it. I am still looking for advice whether I should post this link or not and why.

    • Only you can say why you're doing something, nobody else can say it for you!

There are tons other ways to make money on forums - don't get banned from a topnotch place if you can prevent it. THat's just plain common sense.
    • That's generally commendable.

My friend, you got the formal answer from the FatWallet forums. Paul Barrs was so kind to enlighten you about the background.

This is not enough for you?

Please don't think anyone wants to harm you. Rules are everywhere in the life. It is a wise thing to adapt to them - if you want to use them to your advantage.

I wish you a wise decision.

  • The reason you can't do it is because it's against their terms of service, it's a simple as that.

Why? Doesn't matter - it's *their* website. Just like this one is Allen's.

We don't 'own' this place, wee have no more rights to do what we want here than what Allen says in his terms of service.

If you want to be successful in online marketing them you need to accept that ALL websites out there are owned by someone else and if you want to post on their website, you better do it following their rules.

    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • I don't think they can enforce getting that $1000 from you - but they will most likely ban you from their forum. I don't see this as a long-term strategy.
