How to send users password after optin?

I'm confused as to how to send people who optin a password?

Is there a 3rd party application that does this? Something like digital access pass?

Also, if I just need to send optins to a regular wordpress membership signup page, how do proctect the signup page from public access?

The wordpress signup form is fine for my needs right now but I would also like an answer to how I can create a user account with email and send them automated password after confirming optin.

I checked out premise 2.0 but I guess I was confused about password automation and now I'm looking at digital access pass.

Am I headed in the right direction?

What is the system to send optins/buyers generated password?

    Aweber provides such facilities. You can set up a universal password which is sent in a "welcome" email.

    You can establish member only areas of your site by the drop down in WP on the right hand side when you create a page.

    Ok I understand universal password part and maybe I should just stick to that for now while I'm learning.

    How do I send optins to a members signup page? Can I create a custom signup page url? Do I even need to?

    You can go to your WP plug ins and do a search for "membership plugin"...
