Not Sure About A Business Model

Hello warriors,

Ok, so I've been internet marketing for a while, using wordpress +adsense and finding small niches to get indexed for on Google. Since my team is aiming for a large network of sites, list building is a challenge.

With all of the recent changes in Google, do you think this is a viable business model? And do you think Google has way to much control over everything?

Thanks guys,

  • Relying on google for traffic isn't a reliable business model, several people(me included) learnt it the hard way.

IM is still alive and well though.

    • I agree, I think a list of buyers is something that is not talked about, too much in I.M.
  • In the end of the day, it's like any other investment strategy - "don't put all your eggs in one basket" is always a win.
Build lists, Build social media traffic etc.

I think Google effectively has some control over people who choose to build their businesses primarily by attracting Google's users as their own potential customers. No great surprise there, though? And no need for people who don't like it to do that, of course.

  • When you learn to become independent of google, that's when you start building a real busienss. I found out that listbuilding works faster with non-seo traffic if you know the tricks of the game.

    • That's why people say that 'The Money Is In The List'.

Also, research has shown that it's cheaper to retain an existing customer than to acquire a new one.

Spread out your traffic generation models, offer something of immense value to your visitors for either free or at a very low cost to encourage them to join your list.

Then keep adding massive value to them by providing great content. This is what keeps them ON your list instead of clicking on the unsubscribe link.
  • I recommend list swaps and even moreso solo ads. Paid traffic rules. Facebook Ads, viral social stuff, Pinterest.
