Article directory question. Duplicate content?

Hello!

Do I have to write a new article for article directories or I just can take an article from my web site?

No. It's syndicated content. There's a slight difference. You aren't claiming the content is the property of the webmaster, just posting it elsewhere and allowing other webmasters to use it.

Be sure to provide a link back to the article on the website you post it on.

You won't be penalized for this.

I typically don't take one from my website but I create one specifically for directories. Then I submit the same one to multiple article directories. That's fine and expected. The hope is that other websites will pick up the article and run it one their websites. Just make sure you put a link back to your website at the bottom. This way you will drive traffic back to your website. This is the beauty of article directories. There's no penalty in it.

I typically write an article specifically for a directory and have never taken one from my website. You can then submit that article to several different directories. Make sure you signature is set up at the bottom of your article to bring traffic to your website.

Article directories don't require previously unpublished content.

I think you'll find the answer to your question explained (together with those to many closely related questions, if you follow the links there) in this post: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post5068872

"Lack of originality" has nothing to do with being "duplicate": those are two completely different things. An article can be entirely unique and previously unpublished, but may still not be "original".

You say "even spun" as if you imagine that makes them somehow better? (Or perhaps you meant "more original"? It doesn't work that way, if so - you're perhaps thinking of "unique", rather than "original"?). Many article directories don't look at it that way at all!

Web 2.0 sites are completely different again. They're not article directories. Again, explained right here: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post5068872

Ezine for example requires 'fresh' and unique content. If your article is similar to one already posted on Ezine or found on the web they might reject your content.
If it's syndicated content make sure you provide the correct backlink.

Sorry, Krisz, but this just isn't so at all: it's wrong.

Ezine Articles does not require previously unpublished or unique content.

      It's an article directory.

Clarified in great detail in this post: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post4309204

everyday I post a new article to my blog. I then post the same to 4 other top directories. And I use the same article, just link back to my blog post.

It's not a problem, but it can help you to write or at least rewrite your articles for every major article directory for better link juice, so to speak. However, your time could be better spent on other activities, such as forum posting, blog posting, etc...

With apologies for the "contrary tone", Edvvard, again, this is simply incorrect.

Re-writing articles for every major directory will not improve the link-juice value at all. Nor is that the reason for submitting any article to an article directory in the first place. The link-juice value of a backlink attached to an article published in an article directory does not depend on whether the content of the article to which it's attached has been re-written, nor on whether it's indexed in the main or supplemental index.

Again, in the interests of clarity about this much-misunderstood subject, about half the contents of this thread really are pure fiction.

It would really help a lot of people to read this thread: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ries-work.html

The highest purpose of an article is in its power of leveraging through syndication. Submitting syndication-quality articles to article directories is only the beginning of this very powerful leveraging potential.

As publishers select these articles for their own subscribers and readers, this adds an implied endorsement which can directly draw highly convertible traffic for relevant offers.

Any SEO consideration is a completely separate traffic generation source euphemistically termed "link juice" or "backlinks", which in comparison is effectively nothing more than a by-product.
